I love how they build out the bathrooms in inaccessible areas to make full use of the campground. I can't speak for the quality of the indoor facilities, as I had my own, but they looked great on the outside. There are plenty of signs to direct campers and the road was just fine for my rig. All around good quality camping location for $20 in a major park.

Only about half of the 86 sites are available for use...the other sites are "closed for the winter." We ended up going back into town (turn off on Second St near the gas station) and staying at the Eagle Creek campground in the Gallatin National Forest. Way better campground, beautiful views and woke up to a small herd of bison in camp the next morning. The price for the campsite was $7 in the National Forest versus $20 in the Park.

This park is clean, sites are well-maintained, and a nice shop with essentials and gift items. Oh did I mention the ice cream? Very happy with our weeklong stay at Big Moose. The owner is friendly and accommodating, a…read morewonderful host. We stayed in cabin 8 and my folks rented cabin 9 which was connected. We liked having the adjoining cabins to enjoy family meals and time together. The cabins were clean with a small kitchenette complete with utensils, servingware and cookware as well as a shared bbq on the porch. Downfall was the small mini fridge since we planned to cook at the cabin and brought quite a bit of food. The resort is on the outskirts of Cooke City so more rustic than being next to the businesses and gas stations downtown. Located about a 15 minute drive from the East Entrance of Yellowstone. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

This is a really nice campground just past Pond's Lodge as you're heading toward West Yellowstone…read more We stayed here three nights, the first night in C Loop, which has electrical hookups for 110, 30 amp and 50 amp connections. The other nights were in E Loop, a group camp site. The campground is full of trees, which provided nice shade. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill surface. Sites with tent space have a raised tent pad that can accommodate a 60-foot tent. It was very peaceful here and didn't hear any road noise, since our sites were away from the highway. There were separate camp hosts for both of the sites we were at. The couples were very pleasant. The group site hosts let us leave our trailer there before check-in, so we didn't have to tow it with us to Yellowstone. As with all Forest Service campgrounds, the cost was inexpensive. We plan to come back and do some fishing on the nearby world-class streams.

Just about all sites are walking distance to the river. Lots of mosquitos out at this time so bring your spray and a mosquito tent if you have one. The camp hosts were so nice for the 5 days we stayed. Bathrooms (pit toilets) were constantly cleaned and the park itself is clean. Campsites consist of a picnic table and fire pit. About half of the sites have electric hookups which is an extra $8 a night. Fresh water spigots throughout the park but bring a water bandit! They sell firewood small bundles for $6 and they will deliver it to your site! The only downfall is some highway noise so try to get as close to the river as you can if you don't want that....but for the price it's not that bad.

They are great at giving your advise of how to best enjoy the park, where gas stations are found in the park etc. It's also a nice change to apply sunscreen, use the restrooms, and refill your water bottles.
