I found Man and Dolly through yelp, I wasn't very sure what to except when I called William for a quote. He was very responsive and offered to pickup the truck from U Haul. I'd booked the truck couple of weeks in advance and talked to the manager about William get the truck in my stead. U Haul promised me that it will all go without a hitch. But on the day of moving the system had a glitch. William was kind enough to pickup the truck in his own name. He went above and beyond most moving companies. I've used a few moving services in Austin over the years, and these guys really aimed to impress. Before you book with M&D, you need to know they don't provide a truck; BUT with their lower hourly rate, it's totally worth it to rent a truck yourself (and they'll drive it for you, if you don't want to). William runs a professional team, has high standards, and it shows. They were super careful moving large and/or breakable items, and made no issue with indecision on our part with a big, heavy desk. M&D is great! I have used their services several times - sometimes to move a lot and sometimes to move a few things that I wanted moved with care. They do a great job moving no matter what the size of the move. William is always professional, on-time, and reasonable for the work he does. If I have an important piece of furniture moved within my house I call M&D. I've tried others and had walls dinged and furniture marked. That has never happened with William & team! I cannot say enough positive things about William. I sent a message requesting a quote this morning and received a response within minutes. He made himself available on very short notice, was extremely conscientious and careful moving my bookcases, and did so at a very reasonable price. All other companies that I contacted had a minimum 2-3 hour rate, not including a fuel surcharge. I'm all for someone making a living, but I only needed 2 bookcases moved 5-1/2 miles! I took a shot in the dark hiring someone based on a Yelp review, but I am so glad I did. My only regret is not finding out about Man & Dolly a few years ago! We called with only two days warning and were lucky enough to get an appointment for Man and Dolly to come move all of our packed belongings from a third floor apartment into a moving pod. William and Isaiah were phenomenal. It was 100 degrees outside and we had a good amount of stuff and they were very fast, efficient and friendly. They were very careful with our stuff and helped us in securing a few things that may have been damaged in the move otherwise. They immediately shook my hand and I would say they took customer care to a level I don't recall from movers. Usually movers are a bit sketchy in my mind-- not so here. I am very impressed with this small company! William, the owner is very responsive in any form. We communicated via email, and I never had to wait for a response. I honestly don't think I've ever had a better experience with movers in my life. I was a little hesitant because Man and Dolly is a small company and if they were to no-show, I would be in big trouble, but William was super responsive and showed up exactly on time -- something most movers never do. He and Isaiah were extreeeeemely professional and polite, and they were also crazy fast, while taking good care of my furniture and belongings. They knew what they were doing and it showed. Despite working on an hourly basis, they didn't putter around, and didn't mind me getting in their way from time to time. It's a shame I'm moving out of state, because I would totally use them again! My husband had purchased a very heavy desk that he and another very strong individual could not get up our stairs for the life of them. It seemed to like it was just not going to happen and I had a very hard time finding any moving company that would come out for less than a 2 hour minimum charge just to carry a desk up the stairs until I came across man and dolly! William answered my call right away and said he would do his very best to get to it either that same day or the next day. Lucky for us he squeezed us in that very same day even though he had just gotten done with a very big job several hours away. I wasn't there when he and another guy came by to lift the desk but my husband said it was very impressive and they acted like it weighed nothing. They went the extra mile to help disassemble furniture, unhook a pesky washing machine, and wrap everything in moving blankets. I just recently put a bunch of my stuff in storage. I waited until the last minute and was scrambling with literally a couple days before I needed to have the move finalized. Why did I do that to myself?! I definitely took a chance with Man and Dolly hoping that they would work out AND it wouldn't cost me all my coins. Will and his crew came through for me! The beds wouldn't fit through the door so he got his tools & disassembled them for me (no extra charge). The guys were really efficient and very careful handling my stuff. Will even rearranged everything in my storage to make sure that it all was stacked properly & that I could easily get to my clothing bins. I'm hoping I won't have any moving needs anytime soon, but I'd def go with Man and Dolly again. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE!! Will and his team was prompt, friendly, they moved quickly, and were very good about getting all our stuff packed nicely. I had a bunch of stuff in my attic and they got it out quickly (in the middle of August must have been an oven up there). They also helped do a little back and forth to pick up my gun safe from another house then bring it back to load it up. Things were running short and Will used his own blankets and tie downs to help secure my stuff. This company is top notch! Will was well recommended by a storage facility manager where I current rent a unit. I moved recently from California to Austin with my husband. We had a few delays along the way what forced us to change our moving day to the next day. Will was amazing and very professional!
