Beware of hiring this company!!! The guys that were sent stole some of my belongings, and the items that were stolen were not cheap, including a large bucket of emergency food supplies. I observed them disappearing off to their own car a few times for long periods of time. Their names were Josh and maybe Ryan? They also damaged a lot of my expensive furniture, which now has a ton of chips, dents and scratches. read more

We recently worked with Texan Tuff for our move from Hutto to Dallas. We have had to move quite a bit in the last few years and my husband and I are unanimous in our opinion that Texan tough was probably one of the best movers we have ever had. Bryan was super communicative about the day of move. Since we couldn't do a home visit to evaluate the load size he accommodate us by reviewing pictures and giving us an estimate. There were Some issues with truck pick up timing and he kept us in loop all along about his expected arrival time on the day of the move. They worked hard and packed all our items with care. On the unload side they took care of our new location and our stuff. They were very kind and super courteous. There was some stuff left in the car of one of the moving team and they called us later and returned it to our house. I would totally without hesitation call BRyan again if we were to move. For my sanity though I hope we don't have to for a few years at least! read more

I hired Texan Tuff Movers last week to help me load a 20-foot U-Haul truck that was headed from Texas to Minnesota. Byron, Tito, and another worker they were training were prompt and very courteous, friendly guys. Until I reached my location and saw the results of their terrible packing job, I was really happy with how quickly they worked. They seemed to be doing a great job packing our truck even though U-Haul had messed up my order and gotten me a different size. They asked my husband to go out and get more moving blankets to help secure the furniture, which he did, and they still finished with time to spare. I tipped them and offered them beer leftover in our fridge when they finished. However, when we arrived at our destination, we instantly saw that a lot of our furniture and valuables had been damaged. First, they placed very heavy boxes and totes on top of light ones. In one case, two totes weighing at least 100 pounds that contained garage tools had been set on top of a tote weighing 3 pounds that had all of our Christmas ornaments in it. The tote with the ornaments was obliterated, smashing several irreplaceable pieces. Still, I was much more disappointed to see that they had left a lot of our very nice walnut furniture completely unwrapped after I specifically I asked that they wrap carefully in the moving blankets I purchased myself. We have a mix of nicer, upscale furniture and IKEA pieces, and I let them know that the IKEA pieces could be wrapped with the cheaper blankets that I had rented from U-Haul. I had better blankets for the more expensive furniture, and I said all the walnut pieces needed to be wrapped nicely. They didn't wrap the IKEA furniture in *any* blankets. Dressers were simply wrapped in saran wrap, and they left white shelves without blankets at all. Worse, our really nice display shelves that are $600 a piece and that I specifically mentioned should be taken care of (along with all of our walnut furniture) were completely bare and unwrapped in the truck just standing against totes and other furniture. The movement of everything caused them a lot of unnecessary damages and blemishes. And in what almost felt like an insult - at least 15 extra moving blankets, including both the nice blankets I'd bought and the ones they had sent my husband out to get more of, were folded by the side of the unwrapped shelves, completely unused. Other pieces of furniture had blankets draped over them, but no saran wrap had been used to secure the blankets in place. They slipped off in several corners, causing lots of scratching. The movers also took my desk apart for no reason without letting me know they were doing it, and they did not save the bolts that held the pieces together. I am going to have to contact the original furniture company in order to get the extra parts to reassemble it. I am never the person to write bad reviews (this is honestly the first time I've ever done it), but the lack of care and professionalism in their packing job has me pretty shocked. The company that helped me unload when we got to Minnesota said it was the worst furniture packing job they'd ever seen. I am lucky I packed all of my precious items in boxes carefully, but I trusted these guys to help me take good care of my furniture, and they really dropped the ball. Moving is stressful, and packing is hard work; I know mistakes should be expected, but this appears to be a result of carelessness, not a simple mistake. I would warn anyone against using Texan Tuff Movers if you care about what you are moving at all. I wish I had checked Yelp first rather than simply booking through the U-Haul site, as their reviews here aren't as glowing as they are over there. read more

Texan Tuff is a joke. They broke my expensive desk my placing heavy-boxed items on top of the desk and told me that I could claim insurance refund to replace my broken. I've waited for two months and they angrily told me that I am to be blamed for my placing furniture pads. I don't think furniture pads will help a desk if placing heavy items on top of the desk by the MOVERS. The two guys waited for me to give them a tip after breaking my desk - what a nerve! read more

WOW! First of all, never seen so much rain and thunderstorm in Austin in June. Of course, on the day of our move, it had to rain throughout. Thank goodness Texan Tuff Movers were here to help. They arrived promptly. Moved efficiently through the rain. Byron & Kirtis were pretty amazing. They also brought two guys with them for training. They worked tirelessly for 3 hours to move quite a few boxes and furniture from our third floor apartment to the UHaul truck and then followed us to the UBox location and loaded the boxes. Outstanding movers! Moving is stressful anyway, but the covid virus forced me to completely rearrange my plans over and over again. I have probably used movers 15 times (usually Two Men, but freight lines twice) and the Texan Tuff crew is hands down the best ever. I know I paid for their time, but they wrapped my stuff so well, tried their best to handle it with care, and really help me set up to have it in long term storage, plus be moved again, in the best possible way. Even at the storage unit, when it was all packed in, the storage employee saw what Texan Tuff had done and was stunned. On her own, she said "I've been in this business a long time and these movers have done the best job organizing this unit that I've ever seen. What an amazing job." She was so impressed. Byron is a rock star, and Chris - then on day 2 - is right behind him. I simply cannot thank Texan Tuff enough for going above and beyond in what was such a terribly stressful time for me. These guys are awesome! Our trailer did not arrive on time and TT was so kind & flexible to change our move time from 5pm to 7pm at the last minute, which meant they'd be unloading our truck into the night (10:00+). Not only were they extremely kind, professional, fast and trustworthy, they made the whole experience super fun (Kevin & Byron are your guys!). Kevin & Byron went out of their way to place things in logical access points, take things apart when/if they had to, and didn't once complain about the heat or furniture that wouldn't fit through doorways etc! :) This is the BEST moving experience we have had! Thank you, Denise, Kevin & Byron for getting us into our home. We will definitely call back & use this company again when we get the rest of our shipment, as well as, when we move out of our rental and into our home next year. read more

The company has a section in their policy that even if they damage your property they are not responsible if you sign the invoice. They damaged our newer wooden floor leaving an 18" groove in the middle of a bedroom. It was not noted until after they had left. Photos and denoting a third party witness that the floor was previously not damaged served no purpose. Their crew obviously had created the damage but did not advise us at the time. Their response of denial of any responsibility included, "The scratch should easily fix with a wood pen". A 1/4 deep groove in the wood is not going to be fixed with a pen. Beware of any company that knows they are responsible but hide behind an open ended policy. Unprofessional and unethical. read more

If you are looking for a moving company look no further this company unpacked my 26ft truck into a 2story 4 bedroom home, connected washer and dryer, put furniture together and asked multiple times if there was anything else they could do help it had to be about 100 degrees. They moved like worker ants, from the time the truck door opened until every item was out of the truck! The owner of the company was there, didn't even know he was the owner at first because he was moving furniture either the other guys with no problem, when the owner comes out and gets sweaty that says a lot! Professionalism on point! They have the hours to fit anyone's schedule, first move as early as 7am last move as late as 11PM , that's right 11pm! They were able to reschedule my move last minute with no issues no complaints! Prices are very reasonable! These guys are absolutely amazing! Texan Tuff Movers are efficient, fast, and so respectful and friendly! I would definitely recommend using them if you have your own truck to load/unload. BOOK WITH THEM DIRECTLY! DON'T GO THROUGH UHAUL! They were worth every penny! My parents had a tricky situation moving from California to Austin, TX due to using a freight company to ship their items. Denise, who always promptly answered the phone or responded to texts and emails, and our 2 man crew, Byron and Josh, made the Austin part of the move easy! Denise emailed and texted reminders the night before and the morning of our move date so we were in constant communication, which put my mind at ease. Byron and Josh worked so fast and though we were worried our items wouldn't fit in the Uhaul we rented, they packed it perfectly so everything was stable and remained undamaged. The crew came equipped with dollies and their moving experience showed in how they handled all our items with care as they had to travel through the garage, multiple doors, and some stairs. I booked them for 3 hours, and the job was done in 3.5 hours only because of a delay getting our Uhaul and the freight truck in the right spot, not because of anything related to Texan Tuff Movers. Booked through Uhaul. They were very energetic as soon as they arrived and worked hard for an hour! Unfortunately they arrived 2 hours late (some lateness expected with a family illness for one gentleman but the rest not at all), smoked near us, smelled like alcohol. The main guy then proceeded to give much grief when asked to assist moving boxes to our personal vehicles next to the u-haul after the truck was filled after 1 hour (we started at 8:02 and finished at 9:05 because my family and I moved 90% of items ourselves while waiting on them). Then he stated, ":SIGH: What do you want us to do?! We have another job after this. :SHAKING HEAD, SLAPPING PAPER: It's says 2 hour minimum when you book." This made my family and I extremely uncomfortable. When they did finally leave, they remained talking out in the parking lot for 30-45 minutes. For this price, I would go with someone else. I had an excellent experience with Ryan & his coworker. They responded quickly to my calls & moved me in the time allotted. Ryan & Brian we're very professional, personable & enjoyable to work with. I accidentally reserved a smaller moving van for all my stuff. They worked with me & packed every square inch of that moving van. I was surprised at their determination to use all space available. This moving company is a joke. Do yourself a favor and go with another company. I reserved this company through uhauls movinghelp.com. My move was scheduled at 11:00. I called at 11:00 and then they told me 11:30. Just unprofessional and at noon I decided to cancel. I tried to leave a 1 star on movinghelp.com but all the bad reviews they remove the low scores so it looks as though it is 4.5 star company. I can't speak to how they are at moves because I booked them at movinghelp.com six days ago, and--despite the promise on the website that they would call within 24 hours--they never did. After numerous attempts to get in touch with them, both directly and through movinghelp.com, I had to cancel. I'm now stuck arranging what amounts to a last-minute move, which sucks and is more expensive than I would have had to have paid originally. BOTTOM LINE: SCREW THESE GUYS. We booked with Texan tuff on August 18th for our September 16th move. We had completed the whole exchange via the email and provided written packing list , service addresses and even received confirmation of our scheduled move. On September 16th, the movers had not arrived at the 8AM start time. We called and left a voicemail at 8:20AM. Received a call back at 8:30AM and the individual had no idea who we were. When I provided the name of the employee we booked are move through, he replied "he is no longer with us, so I will have to call you back". Well Mark, Its been 3 days and you still havent called back. I am glad we didnt make a deposit on our move or I doubt we would see it returned to us. These guys are AWESOME!! I have used them twice now and I have found them to be very responsive, professional, and just great to work with. They are always so careful with our furniture and our home. Our move took much longer than what we had scheduled them for, but they stayed as long as was needed to get the job done and to make sure we were happy. I scheduled an unload weeks in advance, and they cancelled within an hour of the time they were showed up, telling me that I should probably 'hire someone else', with no availability even into the next day. The owner answered the phone and upon asking if they were a member of the Better Business Bureau he demanded to know why I would ask such a question and started to yell at me over the phone!
