I really don't know why this restaurant is so famous. Firstly, the restaurant doesn't serve any alcoholic beverages, so if you like a glass of wine or beer with your food, you're out of luck. Second: the food is served from a buffet (although, they do have items that you can request from a menu, the majority of the food is served from the buffet). When I went to eat there, I saw people "sampling" the buffet items with their hands!!! If that wasn't bad enough, the food trays are not being attended, so you may pass trays with food that's been there for quite a while (looking anything but appetizing), or they may be empty. The waitstaff are overworked or uninterested because it was next to impossible to get anyone's attention for a soda.. The only thing I can say in Mangai's favor is that it does look charming--so go and look, then eat someplace else. read more

Traditional and authentic Northeast dishes. Similarly to multiple restaurant in Natal, Mangai is a "self-service" restaurant serving food by the weight. The buffet style makes it quite convenient (less risky) for the folks who are experiencing the heavy Northeast cousins. The array of food is fairly diverse and the staff is quite friendly. One of the best restaurants in Natal, has some awesome regional food. Its decoration is also regional, and the restaurante is very well located, with a huge parking lot, which makes it a great place to visit and to hang out with friends. The prices are high but the service and the food are the best, making the prices well worth it! read more
