I was trying to replace my battery on my Note 20 Ultra phone and stripped 2 screws. I paid Ken $65 at this store to remove those two screws. I had not removed anything else. 3 hrs later when I came Ken had removed all 5 screws and he left the ribbon connector completely unscrewed. I asked him to put 2 stripped screws and connect the ribbon back and he said I have stripped the 2 screws really bad he only cut off the heads while rest of the screws were still inside the phone. He also said 1 ribbon connector was damaged. I find it hard to believe that a ribbon was damaged as I never removed anything other than trying to remove the 2 stripped screws. He removed other screws I never asked him to remove. My phone was working fine until I took it to Ken. Now there is damage to the entire phone as it cannot be used to make any calls. There is network not connecting to my phone and TMobile said someone damaged my phone. Now I have to buy another phone. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE TO THIS PLACE. read more

Not good. The guy ripped me off with fixing my 14 pro and whenever I call out, my face apparently butt dials Face time or does any unnecessary issues, swipes automatic to another app and messes everything up, I highly recommend taking your devices to another repair shop. read more

This is literally the only place I've been to that can provide direction for technical help and provide a fair price on graphics cards. Either you can't find GPUs or other components because it's out of stock everywhere else or anyone else that has a chance has been scalping computer components and not thinking twice. However with Ken I found new restored faith in humanity. I've been able to build four different systems for my kids and Fiancé without issue or pause and have been glad to have service here. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I'm so disappointed in my first experience here. We decided to choose a local business to support instead of going to the mall to get our iPad fixed. I made it very clear when I dropped it off on Monday that I needed it repaired by Thursday just in case they couldn't do it. I was told by Cody that would be no problem and it would be done by Tuesday, Wednesday morning at the very latest. Sounded good to me so I left it. I didn't hear anything on Tuesday so I called and they said "it will be ready Wednesday morning." Wednesday came and went and I heard nothing. I called today (Thursday) and they said "oh, it's at another shop, let me call and see what's going on." Why is it at another shop? Why hasn't a single person communicated with me? If you needed an extra day beyond Tuesday or Wednesday, fine. No problem. But at least call and communicate that. Is that too much to ask? But it gets better. I arrive at about 1:45 because they told me they close at 2:00. It's not there and nobody has brought it back to this shop. I reiterated that I needed it today and they asked me to come back. I get a call at about 2:15 to come back and pick it up. I drive all the way back through traffic and they hand it back to me STILL BROKEN. The guy has the nerve to tell me "no charge for a diagnostic." Excuse me?! No charge - you didn't fix it nor did you communicate that it couldn't be fixed. I wasn't even given a chance to take it somewhere else to be fixed because of the absolute disregard and lack of communication. Needless to say I will not be returning nor will I recommend this place to anyone looking for a cellphone / computer / iPad repair shop. I'll stick with the mall. read more

I brought my computer into Manassas Computer Repair to have the transformer plug checked. My instructions was please check the transformer to see if it is shorted out. If a new transformer works then fine. if not and the computer is fried I will consider having the data on the hard drive taken off. I receive a phone call informing me the transformer is burned out and they have a generic "Made in China" transformer on it now and it works fine. The cost of removing and replacing the transformer; truly a ten minute job at most was $165.00. The generic transformer cost all of about $35.00. I will not use them again. The absorbent cost was and is a rip off. My fault for not checking it myself. I have Parkinson's Disease and the easiest task are often very painful. I believe what Manassas Computer Repair does in charging over absorbent prices and doing more than what is requested with know visible means of proving their work may not be illegal but it is definitely unethical at best Remember age old adage, "Buyer Beware"! read more

Wanted to support local business as I am a small business. Stopped in last night to purchase a cable that I needed for a repair yesterday seem like a nice small shop. Stopped in this morning to ask to have a hard drive that cloned since I didn't have the equipment on hand and didn't want to wait so I said why not. I Stopped in asked how much to clone the drive the young man asked if it was a priority I said yes he then told me it would be $85 said it might be a little more or less depending I asked inquisitively more and he said that was based on a hour that $85 would be the minimum because I told him the source drive was giving us an issue and he expressed that is why it was the minimum so I paid. About 20-30 later I get a phone call from the owner saying that drive has an issue and if I wanted him to try to fix the drive and that he wouldn't know how much it would be and that if we cloned it it might not work and that to clone the drive would be $155 if we wanted so I like what I was told $85 he was I normally charge more I am giving you a break for priority so of course declined and said I would go pick them up not to worry. I show up to pick up my hard drives. I show up to pick up the drives and ask if they would be processing the refund and they were quick to say no refund that was a diagnostic charge I was like that is not what I was told and then the owner them pretty much calls me a lair to my face very unprofessional and literally a thief's charging $85 to tell me what I told them to not do what they said I do not recommend horrible customer service. Update i really wish you could upload the video because I am very aware of what happened and how it was explalined and I did agree to the minimum $85 for the clone of the drive which he also explained that it is based on 1hour priority rate I could understand depending on the volume of data there could be additional delay which I was not concerned with like I said in my other review I ordered the needed equipment and installed the two drives and allow the equipment to clone the drives and it took 20-25 min and my issue was resolved also looking at your previous review history it speaks volumes I wish I would have seen that before I hope you process the return on your end so this experience can be done. read more

Over the week my phone took a pretty harsh hit to some tile (courtesy of my four year old) I desperately needed my phones screen fixed and called different places. I have a MacBook that was purchased in 2009. Its been flat out, the best laptop I have ever owned. 10 years after purchase date, and the thing still works like it did fresh out of the box.....until last monday. The screen started glitching, freezing then shutting down. After some research, I found that the most common issue was connectors and internals of the monitor. I took my baby to Manassas Computer Repair. By the evening they had a diagnosis. The screen was done. I got a quote, approved the quote Tuesday afternoon and by Thursday I got the call. Ready for pick up. Its friday now and I have been using the heck out of this laptop and let me tell ya, the dang thing works like it did the day it was taken out of the box. Yey. I can only speak to their data recovery services, which I definitely do not recommend. I had a problem on a Saturday and the place I usually use for computer repair did not have any in-store appointments available for five days. I was thrilled when Manassas Computer told me they could take me immediately, on a Saturday, but it went downhill from there. It was the old "bait and switch." Cameron told me the cost would be $80-$150 and I would have my laptop back the same day. The story and timeline kept moving. Long story short, by Wednesday I was told they were only able to download junk. I could get my computer back that day for $80 (the cost of diagnostic), or they could spend two weeks doing a "deep dive" inside my laptop which would cost me $2,500. I elected for the former. When I got home and accessed the hard drive that they were supposedly copying to, there was nothing there, not even the junk they claimed to have downloaded. Bottom line: Go with the techies at a well-known big box store. They know what they are doing and do not give customers the run-around. read more

Very unhappy with this company. I called from Oregon on Monday to have them help my 87year old in-laws with a computer issue. In gave him the address and explained the problem. He seemed sympathetic and at that time I was thinking he would do right by us. I was told by Ken that he would check the schedule and call me back. I heard back the next day by a lady (did not get her name but due to the conversation we had I assumed it was Ken's wife as she told me it was a family business. She said she could have a tech to the house on Thursday arriving between 10:30 and 11. ( we had requested after 12 noon). I told her I would have to let her know. Shortly after that I called back and she had left for the day but I informed the man who I spoke to that the 10:30-11 arrival was OK. Wednesday Ken calls me and states that he is having trouble getting a tech and that he would now have to change a 2 hour minimum and even then not sure when it would happen. my assumption is that the lady made an arrangement with me that he did not approve of and wanted out. At this time he was rude and VERY uncaring. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS PERSON!!!! IF HE CHANGED THE COST WITH ME, I WOULD WORRY THAT ANY REPAIR HE MADE WOULD COST FAR MORE THAN WHAT HE MIGHT TELL YOU. The people are rude and my phone screen is still messed up after I got it repaired there.

This place is so disgraceful...first they allowed me to pay $200 to have a "d" key replaced and before it was all said and done my laptop was ruined and all of the contents of my hard drive were gone after he promised me that he would back it up and save it for me. On top of that I had another laptop (that my sister who had recently killed herself) that he promised he would gain access to free of charge. Well 2 years later he offered me a consultation laptop similar to my original and then told me to get out of his store when I asked him to keep his word about gaining access to my dead sisters laptop. He wanted me to pay $150 after telling me it would be tacked on to what I had already paid. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! Ken is a terrible human being and I will make it my life mission to make manassas aware of his operation. Although I moved recently, this is still my standard place to get any pc or phone repairs. The staff is always kind and helpful. They even gave me suggestions as to what to upgrade in my pc! Wonderful business. Only complaint is that on some of my previous visits, i didn't get a response email or text which meant i had to call them and visit them the next day. I took my laptop there to get a program installed one week ago. Im leaving today with 175$ less and the program not installed. How is this possible.? They said the charge is because I authorized a reset and that was 175. Sure but i was told that would fix the issue. I showed up today had to wait for laptop to start from beginning. So i ask what about the program. They said we don't have access to your email so you have to download it. ??? I waited and access the web and ask if they can download the program there. Then they came to the conclusion that it required a lower version of windows. But I still had to pay. Because I authorized a reset. Wow. I brought a cell phone into MCR to have the screen replaced. It took 3 weeks to get the phone fixed. Granted it mostly took this long due to the fact that they received 2 defective replacement screens, and had to get help from another local business to get a good replacement screen. However, I had to call them 4 or 5 times to finally get an answer as to why it was taking so long. I was told multiple times that someone would call me back, but that never happened. I had to keep calling them back. It gave me the impression that they were avoiding me. When I was finally informed that the phone was fixed, they said they would be there until 7pm. I showed up at 6:50pm and the store was already locked up and no one was there. In my opinion the customer service is terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Customer service at Manassas Computer has unfortunately gone way down hill over the past five years. Under their old name of ACS, this company was one of the best around and was worth the drive over (I live in another state) for top notch service. Not so today. My trouble started with a recent installation of new hardware that didn't have the proper power supply in the machine. The store manager stated the old power supply was enough, and this was not an oversight, yet the box specs for the new hardware clearly stated that a power supply of a higher rating was needed. Following this experience, I contacted the computer store right before Christmas to help diagnose a strange problem with my graphics card. Multiple phone calls, e-mails, and messages went unanswered, except for a token "we will get back to you tomorrow" reply, which no one ever did. I finally got a hold of the assistant manager (a man named Cameron) and arranged to bring the machine over on Christmas Eve. Arriving on that day, I found the store was closed, even though Cameron had clearly said I could bring the machine on that particular day. Its been quite the journey with these guys, and part of me will miss them, but it was clear I was annoying them with my service requests and I feel like I had outlived my business with them. read more

Ken is personable, but doesn't follow-up with his customers. I brought my laptop in to rid it of far too many viruses, which was cleaned even though it still freezes up on me from time to time. After being quoted a price to install a new hard drive, upon pickup I was told it was $100+ more. I attribute the extra $ to being labor perhaps, but when I requested a simple detailed and itemized bill for my records, I never received one, much less a courtesy reply back to reflect the difference in being charged. The geek technician Cameron was nice, and my laptop works 90% of the time, but the $500 I was charged I should have sunk the funds into a getting a new one instead. read more

I went over there because the screen to my 6S plus cracked right down the middle. I signed and left my phone and even purchased a phone case from them. They called me and told me they "needed time" to work on my phone. I was promised a couple hours and it took a couple of days. After the couple days I got upset and wanted my phone back. They told me they couldn't fix it and that they had messed up the touch display sensor and my phone wasn't functioning anymore... I was PISSED. I have never experienced anything like that before. I even knew someone who worked for them and he even told me that they aren't qualified to fix phones they break them and get you to sign a contract so you pay them the 200$ it costs regardless. After I got my phone it wouldn't even turn on and was at a plain white screen. I ended up paying triple to get a brand new phone from Verizon. I would stay clear of this place if you want to have a functional phone. read more

Not only did he fix everything, he is a nice guy to deal with. I had him custom build my family pc and now he is currently replacing a motherboard on an expensive gaming pc for my son. All the pricing has been very fair and the turnaround time is quick. Before you buy a pc at a big box store, go see him and he will build you something faster, for a fair price and there will be no extra unnecessary software on it. I brought my phone here on November 16, 2018. I have an iPhone 6s and my screen was cracked, had a black hole, and half the screen was changing colors. When I arrived the to store I was told the repair should take 45 minutes to an hour, but I got a phone call about 20 minutes after I left the store saying it was ready. It was a quick in and out of the store and my phone looked brand new. The repairmen cost 72$ and that was pretty cheap compared to other places wanting to charge me 100$. I highly recommend this store for phone repairs with great prices and great customer service! read more

The person who rung up the transaction seems to have issues with race and with black/mixed women in particular. He is not friendly and does not want to be polite to customers who are black and female. Welcome to Manassas. I called back after I left and the same person answered the phone who had been disrespectful to me. He told me he saw my review and that he's not racist because he has a mixed child. He told me that I'm racist. Wow. He also stated he has black employees. That doesn't mean he treats people equally. He also did not want to sell me this item today. I had taken off from work and called ahead to arrange that it would be there. Really hostile. He's looking to fight with customers. I just bought a monitor last week, but the other person working there was very polite. This may be the owner and he's been nasty to me for his own personal reasons. Update. He sold me the incorrect product. I had asked for a USB to HDMI Video Card. I told him the person on the phone had told me that they were holding it for me and it was $69 dollars. What he sold me is a $29.99 USB to HDMI adapter. I explained I wanted a dual monitor set up and I'd purchase a second monitor from him next week.
