Awesome experience! Bartender and staff are awesome, excellent service, the owner is down to earth and great to talk to and makes sure everyone is taken care of. The only issue I had was a random customer,, maybe a regular,, felt in titled and felt like he ran the place, try's to intimidate new comers by staring at you from the other side of the bar like a weirdo, very uncomfortable, seems like that's his thing, long story short , we decided to leave he followed behind like he was gonna do something, and instinctively I turned around and told him you want this smoke let's rock n roll , but he caught that pussy and said he needed to use the restroom. This is a solid spot in south Austin/manchaca. It's mostly an outdoor place in my opinion so not ideal when it's raining out. They have a food truck on site that has really good BBQ along with Mac & cheese. Their banana cream dessert at the food truck is also delicious. As for the bar, they have several different beers to pick & choose from. They even asked my fiancé & I if we wanted our modelo beers dressed (served with salt) after ordering them. They also have a stage for live music as well. Sometimes there are a lot of people there, and other times it's on the emptier side. It really all depends. Not a lot of dancing going on at this place, and it's a great spot to hang out at and have good conversations at during a warm spring or summer day. read more

I think this place has been judged unfairly on Yelp. I thought this place was great. It's such a great divey spot. Large and open with a live music stage and full of eclectic decor bits. The food truck was very good and all of the staff very nice. I could see this spot being great during the evening and will definitely come back then! It just screamed classic Texas to me! I wish I could give this place 0/5 stars. One of the worst experiences ever and will not return. I love going to cute bars around Austin that are dog friendly. However, this bar is not dog friendly due to the actions of people that attend this bar. I was sitting at a patio table eating dinner and a guy at the bar took it upon himself to through a huge firework 3 tables behind where we were sitting. My dog ran off and into the street because she was terrified. After the fact, the guy came up and apologized and said, "he thought it was okay because he saw her on a leash." Wow. It's a shame that the stupid person ruined a local bar that had potential. The owner of the food truck Patty Wagon was extremely sweet and the food was good. Overall will not be a returning customer and will not recommend this place to anyone. sp read more

Had a wonderful time at this place over the weekend. Food was delicious and plentiful, we got the brisket and pulled pork along with potato salad, Mac and cheese, cole slaw and the beans. Definitely get the beans, so much flavor! Bar was walk up and had various beers, ciders and wines. They are also dog friendly which is a huge plus! read more

Awesome little Austin joint. Nice and spacious outdoor seating, live bands and yup dog friendly! Alex ugh she was so fun and inviting, we stopped by to have a few beers on a beautiful Austin day and all had such a good time. They serve bottled/canned beers and a few seltzer's, there is a bbq joint on the property as well and my sister said it was amazing! They have really unique fun decor all around the property which really gave it a true Austin vibe. Overall it's a fun place to get a few ice cold beers! read more

Absolutely one of the best beer bars in South Austin. Extremely great and friendly service. The kind of bar where every one is welcomed and feels like family. The owners, Josh and Sarah have taken great care to have plenty of outdoor seating with picnic tables, grassy areas, an extended wood plank patio with a cool iron bar, washer pits and one of the best Barbeque food trailers this side of the river. In addition, the vintage memorabilia that decorates the whole property along with strung low lights makes this a versatile family outing, happy hour, neighborhood party or a romantic date bar. Went on a Saturday around 5pm, the music was awful! Not crowded however so that was good. Bathroom situation was not good for women, urinals in the outhouses right at the level where women sit down so it stunk. Sink drain for washing hands drained into a bucket that was full. Bartender was nice so that helps. I won't return, very men dominated establishment with bikes and again the music was not in English and terrible. read more

If this place could get no stars, it would. The absolute worst bar filled with crappy music and if you're trying to just grab a drink, this place will quickly piss you off. Easy to get fooled by considering it has cute lights and unique decor but truly that's all it has going for them. FULLLLLLL of country bumpkins with possibly half a brain cell considering some think it's okay to throw fireworks while there are dogs sitting at the patio tables. Overall, this place is absolute shit. Patty Wagon is good though. read more
