Was looking for a place to grab an evening drink while staying nearby. Solid selection of beers on draft. Service was ok

I ducked in to watch the Phillies/Diamondbacks playoff game and grab a bit to eat. Had the wings and garlic fries, which at happy hour pricing was a great deal. Tried the buffalo hot sauce, a good homage to the original wing covering and the wings were a good size and cooked correctly. The garlic fries were good, not as "garlicky" as I expected but went well with the wings. Happy hour draft pricing was also good, and the place had a nice after work/early dinner crowd. After a struggle to find the game, my bartender got it on, although it was the MLB feed in Spanish. Not a huge deal since they left the music on instead of the game broadcast, but trying to figure out stats took a bit of research into my 2 years of high school Spanish memories. The place is your standard corner of a strip mall plain square box, but a large bar and lots of TVs check off some of the sports bar boxes. If they had found the actual TBS feed and put on the sound for a championship series game like a real sports bar should, I would have gone 5 stars.

The only reason it's getting 2 stars is because the bartender was friendly to us. The bar was dirty when we sat down - we cleaned it ourselves. We ordered the potato skins which were cold. The Buffalo wings were just okay. The celery was rotten. The carrots were tough as a board. Total bust. We won't be back.

We came back and had another good experience! I tried the Texas Philly this time with tater tots, which was solid. My fiancé liked her sandwich too. Our waitress also took care of us and stopped by our table pretty often. We will be back!

So much meat in the Tuesday Tacos I removed some. The new 'sweet chili cauliflower' is very yummy. Paired with draft Modelo on special. Yes to Tuesdays:)

Another day to support another local business near me and Backspin Sports Bar & Grill was next on list to try for lunch. Accessing this bar may have looked tough with the new diamond interchange and remnants of a construction site but it was quite easy. There is plenty of surface parking and walked right in. The place is built around a bar with some table seating and a few outside. We decided to sit at the bar and a happy bartender greeted us and ask what we wanted to drink. This is a real bar so your choices are wide open and decided one of the local Austin beers. However we were not here for drinks only and studied their menu. I decided on getting the Quesadilla with Chicken. The place was busy with many TVs showing a variety of sports. There are lots of windows which keeps this place brighter than some bars which are barely lit. I felt very comfortable here and my quesadilla was good where the chicken was soft eating it through a crunchy tortilla with lots of warm cheese. Bad food will chase a place out of town in Austin but not Backspin where may be also identifiable as a gastropub of bar food. They also serve sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas among other things. This might be my destination place to see the Austin FC games but definitely return way before that starts.

Seat yourself when you walk in. Our server was lovely, timely, and attentive. Apps were good. Chicken wings were also pretty good! Sweet chili, spicy BBQ, Parmesan garlic were our faves. Buffalo was so-so. Only meh thing was that the bathroom was a bit dirty. But we'll be back!! Oh and the music was killer. Also really liked their ranch and blue cheese.

Great atmosphere, Bathroom smells pretty good if you're into that sort of thing. Garlic fries bussin and fresh. They always have as many Miller lites as I want. They got TVs playing every sport from bull riding to hockey, and if your wife insists on tagging along, Rachel Ray. Jukebox has had every song I ever thought to play. Bartenders aren't too hot where you get nervous. Everything you need.

Since my last review, I have been here multiple times and I still love it…read more I came here a lot for March Madness. There are so many TVs, there isn't a bad place to sit. There are booths, tables, high top tables, a few picnic styles bench tables, and a pretty large deck. They recently added a side deck. It would be nice if it was covered and then perhaps some lattice or other barrier to keep the Texas sun off your back! I've tried several things on the menu and I've enjoyed them all. I've seen other meals delivered and they all look great too. Today I popped in for a late lunch and lucky me it was still Brunch O'clock. I wavered between the chicken and waffles and the burger. I saw the burger being delivered to a nearby table and it immediately solidified my decision- burger!! I am a burger and fries "foodie". ;) I'm very picky about my burgers and have eaten some of the best burgers in town. It was delicious! The fries aren't my favorite but decent. The burger was perfectly cooked and so was the egg (breakfast burger). I'd definitely get that again! The bartenders are friendly and they are hard workers. This definitely is a place where their systems are intact. They all work together and get orders out quickly. I'm guessing the bartenders and the waitresses all pool their tips. They all hustle. I sit mainly at the bar so I can see their work effort. I've done that job before so I know how hard it can be.

The people are friendly and the vibe is casual, with a lot of TVs around the bar to watch sports anywhere you sit. There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.

The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

She was very friendly and did a good job. She gave us menus, took our drink order and then gave us time to look over the menu. When she returned we placed our order. My husband and I ordered the Nachos Grande to share. They are tortilla chips with beans, cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, sour cream and salsa. We ordered ours with chicken. My husband didn't mind them but I thought that they were a little bit of a disappointment. They were smothered in cheese. There wasn't very much chicken in there and the chips were stale. Next I ordered a short stack of Buttermilk Pancakes which came with a small serving of butter and syrup on the side. My husband ordered the a short stack of Blueberry Pancakes. The only difference was that his came with fresh blueberries on top. The pancakes were thick, and filling. I enjoyed combining them with the other parts of my meal. My husband also enjoyed his pancakes. My husband and I also ordered breakfast tacos. We both ordered the Classic Breakfast Taco which comes with eggs, bacon, tator tots, and cheese. We both ordered our tacos without cheese. They came with salsa choices. I tried the red salsa and the green salsa. Both salsas were good. I preferred the green salsa and my husband preferred the red salsa. The combined ingredients made for a delicious taco. During our meal the waitress brought me a Migas Breakfast Taco which comes with eggs, tomato, crushed tortilla chips, onions, and jalapenos. This was a mistake because I actually ordered the Waterloo Migas which comes with eggs, tomatoes, onions. cheese, tortilla chips, jalapenos, a side of refried beans and a flour tortilla. Long story short. I mentioned the mistake. They put an order in for the Migas and eventually brought them out to me. They also said that I could keep the taco and removed it from the bill. Honestly the Migas Taco was better than the Waterloo Migas. The taco had more crushed tortilla chips than the actual Migas. Both were covered in way too much cheese with a plentiful amount of eggs. The refried beans were okay. They were saltier than I was expecting but they added flavor to the Migas. The flour tortilla was good. I ordered my Migas with Bacon. The bacon was okay. It had a lot of fat on it but it was crispy which is what I prefer. Overall the restaurant had plenty of seating, the service was good, and the food was just okay.
