The office staff were all very nice. Dr. Sheehan was extremely nice. The red flag came up when they wanted to charge me $7,500.00 up front for sedation and fillings for my special needs son. They said that's "just in case they find extra things" while he's under sedation. That was more than double the cost of having my son sedated and removing four non emerging wisdom teeth at a very reputable oral surgeon's office. When I questioned it they said that they would reimburse me if they didn't find "anything extra". They didn't even run my insurance. The receptionist told me that most insurance will "only pay $1,000 anyway." What? I was in complete shock. I've never been to a dental or medical office that tried to charge before service is rendered or running the bill through the insurance company. Especially $7,500 which was outrageous. Be wary of this office. The billing practices are very sketchy. read more

They said I came in after hours. I did not. I came in while they were open. They had me wait in a chair. for several hours and closed the doors while I was still in the chair. They say the insurances were closed. That's not true either they close at six and I was there at three. The insurance companies were still open. read more

If I could leave negative stars for this business, I would. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a dentist. This dentist office puts on a friendly front but I have no idea how they are still in business honestly. I will try and keep this review short, but our experience there spanned for MONTHS and cost us at least $10,000 after everything. After all of that time and money, the teeth problems we had were not fixed. The first time we were there, they were able to see us that day because my husband was having severe tooth pain. He waited in the back to be seen for 5+ hours. When he was finally seen, Dr. Sheehan said that he needed multiple root canals. Her plan of action was to "prep" the root canals, have us go to an endodontist, then come back to her to get the cap installed. We didn't know that her "prep" of the root canals meant that she was going to kill the nerves in his teeth... meaning that he didn't need root canals to begin with because the teeth were alive (we realized this later). We came back for the prep, waited another 5+ hours during which he was numbed multiple times and told "he was just hard to numb". Dr. Sheehan killed the nerves, put on a temporary crown and then we scheduled with an endodontist for the first root canal. Because of this stupid process, and the endodontist breaking the temporary crown, my husband had to leave the endodontist and drive back to Dr. Sheehan with no cap on his tooth. We waited several hours again, with my husband having to be numbed multiple times, and then they put another temporary cap on and we went home. We never got the second root canal done because this experience was so horrible. Fast forward a couple of months and my husband believes he has a salivary stone. We go back to Dr. Sheehan (reluctantly, but no one else would see us quickly), wait ANOTHER 5+ hours - again, my husband having to be numbed multiple times, only for her to say that there wasn't a salivary stone and prescribed him an antibiotic for an infection. The pain got better but a couple of months later, the problem came back 10 times worse and we found a reputable oral surgeon. They noticed instantly that it was a salivary stone and scheduled him the next day for surgery because his gland was literally about to explode. This doctor was very surprised that Dr. Sheehan didn't know it was a stone and that we hadn't gotten it taken care of much sooner. We finally found a better dentist in Holly, who we told this whole story to, and they were shocked. They got my husband in (again, due to tooth pain because Dr. Sheehan did nothing), and got him taken care of in less than two hours. He is not "hard to numb", he just waited around Dr. Sheehan's office for 15+ hours waiting to be seen. This review doesn't even do this experience justice - it was HORRIBLE. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone. Save your money, save your time and sanity, and go somewhere else. read more

If I could put a 0 I would. I had been going to the previous dentist Dr. Doeringer since I was 15. Loved him. He took care of my whole family after I grew up. Well my husband a few years back went to Dr. Sheenhan because his bridge fell out. She said it couldn't be repaired that he would need dentures. They pulled all of his teeth all in the same day. He come home bleeding so badly, called office they said it was probably saliva mixed with blood. Even though the sink was full of bright blood. After a cost of over 6,000 dollars the dentures have never fit. He went back a number of times they did this & that, still not fit. Still today he cannot wear his bottoms ( my dentist says they should have never pulled his bottoms.) Every time he eats a meal he has to glue his tops back in. Her ratings are good because they don't have the bad ones on her website. I had posted the last one in 2023 not there. They want prepayment for everything & to boot 2 years after my husband refused to go back to her we got another bill. Called they said their billing company had made a mistake. BEWARE OF THS DENTIST !! I can't even get my husband to go to a different dentist cause he has no trust in them anymore. Tell me why my Grandparents, His Mom, my Moms dentures fit without gluing all those years ago & with today tecnology they don't. Dr. Sheehan shoul have made this good. Dr. Doeringer would have. Dr Sheehan quit taking my delta dental insurance and did a root canal on my daughter without informing me. I payed out of pocket $1200 and was told "this is the way we do it now" and "the insurance company will send me a check." I received a check for $111. Thanks Dr. Sheehan. A heads up would have been nice. This is unacceptable and unethical in my eyes. read more

I am very disappointed in what this dentist office has become. The office is all about taking your money instead of your well-being which is what it was under during a previous administration. The changes and updates are nice, but they come at a cost directly to the patient. I have been going here since I was a little boy and am very sad that I was left with no choice other than to change dentists. Ashley at the front desk is rude and is extremely unprofessional. I'll give you a prime example. Doctor Sheehan advised I would need Invisalign or my teeth would eventually rot. So, I scheduled a consultation to see what the cost was. After the fitting, Ashley sat me down and asked how I'd be paying. And I said "how much is it?" And she advised 5 thousand dollars. I said I couldn't afford that, to which she asked if my mom could help. I said no, I take care of my own expenses and can't afford it with college and other financial obligations. She then had the audacity to tell me to take a semester or two off to pay for the treatments! And basically was trying to corner and bully me into getting them. Not a good business practice. I called Dental 1 on M-59, where the rest of my family goes, and have had a great experience! Not only have they advised I don't need the Invisalign treatment, their staff is professional and not pushy by any means. They don't have all the fancy stuff this office has, but they do a great job and have helped me tremendously! Not only that, but my Delta Dental insurance no longer will deal with this office, which I'm told is an indicator of the relatability of the dentist from my employer. I don't normally write reviews like this, but this office deserves it. I seriously hope doctor Sheehan as well as Ashley realizes how many people are not putting up with their practices and can't afford the money grabbing schemes they try to play on their patients. read more

I went in for a consult for total mouth implants. Everyone was very nice to me. I ended up having a wisdom tooth dug out---at 69 years of age if you can believe it. I was told I had to pay over 1600 before they could do the surgery., due to needing anesthesia. The dr. did call the next day to see how I was. Very professional! My question is---has anyone had the full mouth implants from here??? Not once but three times I asked the staff and the Dr. what my implants were going to cost and just got fobbed off to someone else, who couldn't or wouldn't tell me what the cost was going to be. Can anyone tell me what they paid for the full mouth implants???? That little niggling fear is telling me not to go thru with this. I just don't want to end up spending thousands and thousands of dollars. read more

I have been to many dentists. I am a veteran . I have been threw the the VA system . Dr. Sheehan is WONDERFUL. She got me in right away when the VA ok me to see her. I got right in. They took care of me VERY well. Proper meds, nitrous and shots . I had a very difficult tooth extraction and it went smoothly. She text me all weekend to be sure I did not need anything. I never felt like I was left hanging with any questions. Since I started to see her she is very timely. All her staff has been great. I have more work to get done but I am no longer worried as I know she will take good care of me. I would refer her to anyone needing a dentist ! And her office is close to my home which is a very nice added plus. read more

My family were patients of DR. Doeringer for thirty years until he retired. We stayed at the same office and at first it seemed good with just some updates on equipment and decor. Then I felt I was being pushed into more work and more crowns. Then they lost there Delta Dental Network status for doing too many crowns. My daughter's crown actually fell off twice and went somewhere else to get it fixed. She would apply for our reimbursement from Delta but we had to make up for the extra she wanted. She is not completely upfront about the costs until you are you are handed the bill. We have found a new dentist where we have been treated like a patient instead of a customer. read more

Dr. Sheehan is amazing! I never write reviews but I just have to brag! No matter what the patient comes first, she's always accommodating, and most importantly, her work is impeccable. I've been to many different offices before and was never this satisfied whether it was the work I had done or just the office atmosphere in general. Dr Sheehan is very nice but expensive ! She bought the practice from Dr Doeringer and we totally miss him ! He put patient care first and not money ! Went into see her with a broken tooth and before they would fix me they came in with a bill for $3900 that I had to make arrangements to pay before my tooth would get fixed. Plus ordered a lot of x-rays that I did not want or could not afford since I had no insurance. I sat there and cried in the chair and said Dr. Doeringer would never do this to his patients then she said well they'll never be another doctor like him! Sad!
