It has been over a year since I lost my sweet little cat, Romo. I had a hard time writing this…read morereview because it naturally brought up memories and a lot of feelings. Still, I can't say enough good things about this place. I have never questioned the decisions made or the treatments given to my pet. The service my cat and I received was always thorough and prompt and the treatment affordable and sensible. The team at Boulder's Natural Animal Hospital is professional and competent. Everyone who works there goes so far beyond the bare minimum, it makes even the hardest situations more bearable. It's one thing to help you keep the costs of treatments for your beloved pet as low as possible, but it's quite another when someone goes out of his or her way to show sincere compassion and kindness during a difficult time. I felt that the people at Boulder's Natural Animal Hospital were with me every step of the way throughout my cat's illness, and even when he was no longer with me, they still reached out to me to show how much they care. I would highly recommend Boulder's Natural Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for capable veterinarians, competent staff members and an overall wonderful place to take any pet.

If you are seeking vetrinarians with reactivity or fearful training background, you can come in and pay for them to tell you where to go. 5 stars for Dr. Adelmeyer. She is a compassionate vet who will take good care of your fearful pup. Request her specifically for excellent medical care. There is NO side entrance!!! This is completely unfair to your clients with these fearful animals.

We had seen Dr. Curtis with our dog Juno about a spay. The visit seemed pretty good, so we brought…read moreour dog, Cody, there for his vaccines. Cody is a 1-year old cattle dog mix. He is very friendly with both people and dogs but can be energetic. He had been to our previous vet 2-3 times, as well as a specialty vet over some digestive issues. None of these vets had any issues with him and described him as friendly. I volunteered with Training and Behavior for over six years with a local humane society, so know a fair bit about dog behavior. We saw Dr. Stine - and he was very wriggly. I tried to offer to hold him, but they kept pushing me away. He did look back at her several times, but I did not see anything that looked alarming in terms of aggression. They said they wanted to take him the back for vaccines. Personally, I never think it's a good idea to separate a dog from its owner in a brand new environment. But since I knew Cody was good natured, I agreed to it. When he came back, he had orange stuff all over his snout. They said they had muzzled him and given him Cheez Whiz. Having muzzle trained several dogs at local shelter, I know this is not something you do without proper training. It can create a bad experience for the dog, and I was never consulted about muzzling him. I would have said no and done vaccines another day at another vet. Secondly, Cody has a very sensitive stomach and has had several boutss of diarrhea due to food insensitivities. Because of that, I had brought my own treats that I knew would be ok for him. He later had diarrhea due to the Cheez whiz. When I sent an email complaint, the vet said Cody had tried to bite her and she had bruises on her arm. She said this happened when she examined him in the room with me. I have no idea what she's talking about, because I did not see anything like that. To make matters worse, it's clear my dog is now traumatized from the whole experience. I went to give him his topical flea and tick preventative which I've been doing for a year. This time, he actively flinched and looked terrified when my hands went behind his head. I know this is because of how he was muzzled and manhandled at Alpine. Don't go here.
