This wouldn't be considered your luxury Chinese restaurant, but for a buffet I would say they do a great job of serving a great variety of fresh food. They start and end the meal bringing you a hot wet towel to wash your hands. That is a really nice touch. They have awesome soups, a great salad bar, plenty of entrees to choose from, sushi and a huge dessert table. My friend said I should give it 5 stars, but I usually give 5 stars to high end restaurants. They also offer 20% off for people over 65. Being that we are from the US, I used my debit card and two senior meals with tip, tax and everything converted to $56. That was a great deal of food for that price. read more

I made an online order on a Thursday afternoon and was given an estimated delivery time of 5:37 pm. That was approximately 50 minutes after I ordered. At 6 pm I contacted the restaurant asking if it was still coming and was told it was delayed for traffic And be there in 10 minutes. Then the delivery driver called me as soon as I hung up and said it was delayed due to high amount of orders, which was a different story. After another 30 minutes I called to cancel the order as the food was made over an hour earlier and wouldn't be hot. Delivery driver then again calls and says he is just a few minutes away . I didn't accept as accepting and paying for food that had been sitting for over an hour didnt seem right. Disappointed with lack of communication and inaccurate stories. This restaurant was perfect there was amazing food wonderful decorations and everything was beautiful. I went here for my grandfather's birthday and we everything we were looking for and more. We had a wonderful waiter named Jackson who gave my grandpa a cupcake for his birthday, kept coming over asking us if we would like a refill on our drinks, and was overall really kind. My family and friends love this clean Mandarin London location and come here often. I've joined them on a few occasions at this AYCE venue. The food is great, the service staff is excellent and there is something at the buffet to satisfy everyone; vegetarians, meat lovers, sushi lovers, seafood, regulars, etc. Desserts are also plentiful to fulfill that urge! Stopped here for takeout (I know, it's known for the buffet). I ordered two soups to go, and both were very tasty. I can't say anything about the buffet, but it looked tasty and lots of variety from just peeling at the buffet lines. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely stop in for the buffet. read more

The moment we walked in, the staff said hi or welcome! It was nice to be sincerely greeted. We were informed about tonight's special like the roasted prime rib (served rare, but can be cooked well done upon request). As we sat to our assigned seat, the waiter gave us a warm towel to clean our hands before eating. Nice! I felt like I'm dining in a real Chinese restaurant like in the Philippines/Taiwan/Hongkong/Macau. Excellent service by the staff. Constant refill of drinks and clearing of dishes. Although the refill is more ice than the actual soda, still the kind of service makes you feel you're taken care of. This strategy makes you obliged to tip more Anyways the dining area looks so clean. We arrived around 8pm. We probably missed the peak hours. Buffet servers constantly checking the buffet. While I was looking for what dishes to try, a kitchen staff greeted me and politely ask what she can cook or prepare for me...nice! As a tourist, I had an amazing time here. The place was very clean, a lot of food options for vegans and non-vegans, free refills, and great service. They sat a table of 6 with no issue and was very attentive. They also gave moist towels before and after eating. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I am not a fan of buffets, but this place is pretty dang good! Service was absolutely wonderful!! I like that you get a hot towel before and after your meal! Roast Beef was the old mans fav, and I will say it was quite good. Very tender! I enjoyed the sushi selection and fresh fruit choices! I have always wanted to try Dragon Fruit, but I didn't want to buy a whole one and not like it...they had it on the fruit bar and it was great! Mom and Hubs tried everything! Crab Legs were the top pick for Mom, including a bowl of butter to dunk the meat in! Lots dessert choices as well! Go early! We arrived at 5:30, were seated right away, but the buffet area quickly filled up and was almost inaccessible. Everything was HOT, and instead of putting out big pans of food, they keep them small and refill them often, which is usually my biggest complaint about buffets. They also had a cotton candy machine! Went here with my husband and daughter for a special occasion on a busy Sunday. The front desk was fast and efficient, someone explained the food and setup to us before we were seated since it was our first time. All the servers were nice, thoughtful, and friendly. The ambiance was nice, lots of tables and room. The food was great too. I wish I had a bigger stomach. There are lots of choices and everyone is bound to have two or three of them. Things have improved 1 star since my last visit - but the roast beef has deteriorated beyond anything we can describe as "beef". So what improved? Well not the servers, they were attentive and courteous before and ever so accomodating again. The desert area was essentially perfect this time. Variety and fresh not frozen and well stocked. Same goes for the salad bar. Hot food and sushi all good. Best tastes were found with the grilled meats. But Mandarin what have you done to the roast beef?!? I ponied up for what was offered as a slice of "corned beef". Yeah, that's a first. It didn't exactly look like corned beef but it was very pinkish. I took a bite into what was apparently pork. And lousy pork at that. I informed the server of the mystery meat mishap and the manager came over and swore to me that it was beef but it was so processed that it no longer seems like beef. Well no shiitake! Their reasoning is so that the seniors can chew the meat easier with their dentures and that seniors don't like natural beef. Uh sure. The cultural cluelessness didn't end there. It was also evident by the dining music selection of Christmas carols. Mandarin needs a Canadian sensibilities consultant to break through for the next star. read more

On our way from Mississauga to Sarnia we stopped in London for lunch. Now I've been to many Mandarin restaurants over the years and this one is now one of my favourites. I don't know why the food seems so much better to me, but they seem to take so much care in everything they do. The young lady who seated us (Alexis) was an absolute darling and our server Allan was a class act. The grill bar was better than I've ever had and the presentation so tasteful. I would drive the 90 minutes again just to have lunch with them again. A beautiful restaurant! read more

Mandarin is a week-known buffet chain with good but not great food. There are a few special items that they do well, depending on your tastes. Quantity is the game here. However, at all the Mandarin restaurants I have been at, service is always friendly and prompt, which actually contributes much to the enjoyment of the experience. The Mandarin is such a unique Chinese buffet, when I first moved here to London, I had never seen anything like this (we don't get this kind of stuff in Windsor). Last night my boyfriend and I needed to get out, so we decided to come to the Mandarin for dinner last night; it was a good choice, and it was during their Chinese New Year celebration. The last few times I had been here, it was quite a wait because it was really busy, but I figured on a Tuesday evening it wouldn't be that busy and there wasn't a wait whatsoever. We were immediately taken to our table by the hostess, who promptly asked us if we had been there before, given us a quick overview of the buffet area, and brought us to our table. We were then greeted by our waitress, who gave us hot towels, and asked us our drink order, and told us we can go get some food whenever we were ready. Your first plate always has the most. There was just so much to choose from, I had a bit of the salad bar, the hot bar, and the sushi bar. My favourite was the sushi bar. Since it was their Chinese New Year celebration, they had a selection of dumplings. I chose the salmon sashimi, some sushi rolls, and the chicken balls with the sweet and sour sauce. Everything tasted delicious, but it's very salty; I found myself drinking lots of water during my meal. Their dessert table had a huge selection as well, but I opted for a small piece of a Nanaimo Bar, and strawberry ice cream with sprinkles (I'm a kid at heart!). Our meal was expensive, I think it's something you'd want to go to for a special occasion or a random night out if you need to get out or dinner with a friend, the entire place was full of people, it was loud, but not too loud where you couldn't hear yourself think, and I was able to have a conversation with my boyfriend. For their Chinese New Year celebration, we were given a traditional red envelope with a Mandarin coin inside. It's a nice gesture to celebrate the Chinese New Year. read more

When you visit this restaurant, the experience will be consistent and you will find that cleanliness and to have attentive hosts are guaranteed. It is a large Buffett and will keep you busy for an hour trying to decipher your way through the long tables of food! Mandarin is simply a terrific restaurant. Whether your going on your own, with a friend, a partner, or your family, Mandarin is the place to go. At the entrance they have a beautiful walkway over a little pool of fish. Another thing about when you enter, you get overcome by the appetizing scents. Going to your table you walk through the buffet and get to see all the amazing foods waiting for you once you get settled at a table. The food itself is absolutely amazing, they have a great variety of meat, vegetables, and desserts. Looking around from your table you can see more fish in little aquariums, as well as the simple yet beautiful art on the walls. The servers at Mandarin are absolutely amazing and do a great job helping out customers. Me and my family have come here a multitude of times for some special occasions. We were so glad to come back again after covid as Mandarin is currently our most preferred and favoured restaurant. Me and my family plan on coming here more often as Mandarin is a place to spoil yourself with such delicious treats. I have always loved Mandarin. We aren't from London but from Sarnia, so almost every time we visited London we made a special trip there to eat. It became a thing for our family. My girlfriend was visiting from Texas and we'd spent the day shopping in London, so we decided to finish off with a trip to the Mandarin. While the food was good, apparently I had only ever been on week days, or they just put their prices up. For just the two of us, we paid over $80 with no alcohol, just Coke's. I was floored when we got the bill. My parents, too. If we had paid together, it would have been damned well over $160 and that is just not doable for our family! I paid the bill and left a good tip, and once we left we all discussed it. I just don't think the food, even on a weekend, is worth $28.99 a person. That is very expensive for a buffet! Unfortunately, because of it, our time enjoying Mandarin has come to an end. If the food were amazing, over-the-top best food I'd ever had, then yes it would be worth the price but as of now, it's just not. I'm sad that we won't be going anymore, but I only work part time (maybe 20 hours a week) and will be in school in September. That is just not a price someone like me can pay. read more

Overly salty, under cooked, dried out, thick in strange sauces.... well, have no fear Mandarin is here! The food, at least in my experience, is always delivered hot. Though on busy days like Friday/Sat) expect that 1 hour delivery to stretch a bit longer. It's restaurant is buffet style so that is exactly the same thing you get at home too. A wide array of mixed asian/american style food that you've grown accustomed to such as Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Balls, Plain Soft Noodles as well as a few treats thrown in there. This month's special feature was Korean Style Chicken.... psst, I'd pass on that one it was more a trick than a treat, but sometimes the special feature is pretty good. Don't expect authenticity or a cheap meal but you'll not get that sad 'I regret everything' feeling either so... weigh your options. The portions they send are ridiculously large you'll be eating it for days unless you happen to have a football team at home with you. It's our go to delivery place for Chinese. read more

First off, if you're going to the Mandarin at any point on the weekend (including Friday) make a reservation. If not you'll be waiting over an hour for a table. This was not my first visit to the Mandarin and unfortunately it was my least satisfactory visit. It was crazy busy and I while getting food I was frequently pushed out of the way by other diners who forgot what manners are. Kind of put a damper on the evening. The food was delicious as usual. The wonton soup is one of my favourites and it was awesome. My fiancée went to town on the crab legs (only available on weekends) and he said they were amazing the hot food was awesome and I frequently saw staff cleaning up spills and refilling food. The one downside was the sushi ran out quite quickly which was a bit confusing because I saw tubs of sushi rolls behind the counter. Dessert as usual was a huge hit. If you've never had the sugar puffs, go get a while plate of them because they're amazing. The waffle station was a highlight because the waffles were still warm. Solid buffet!! We have been coming here for years and after experiencing many buffets this one and Texas De Brazil (only in the USA) are worth it. This all you can eat buffet has everything from Chinese Food, Crab, Shrimp, Salad Bar, Mashed Potatoes, Chicken, Sausage, and much more! The quality is always high, and service is friendly and does not lack a cheap quality. People are pushy here at the buffet and the dessert is below average. This is a Mandarin. If you're not familiar with it, Mandarian is a popular Canadian chinese buffet chain. What you'll get here is quantity over quality. Anything you eat here will not blow your socks off but it will fill you up (I mean, they have sushi here that has cooked lemon chicken in it.). My fiancée and I went to visit her grandparents in London over the weekend and although grandma still cooks at 95 (!!) we always feel better taking them out someplace. Although we usually play it safe by sticking to Swiss Chalet, Montana's et al. we decided (at grandma's suggestion!) to mix it up and go with that "new Chinese restaurant", Mandarin! At this point though, I think it's pretty safe to say that Mandarin really isn't just a Chinese buffet anymore. I'm a vegetarian, my fiancée is gluten intolerant and the grandparents are understandably not super adventurous with their dining but everyone came left quite satisfied. From pizza to roast beef to more traditional (Canadian) Chinese food to a salad bar to sushi rolls to a pretty good desert selection, Mandarin pretty much has everything. They even have a cotton candy machine for the kids (and me)! The options seem pretty much endless and the fact that they do all it all quite well is pretty impressive. There are many buffet options out there but I don't think any of them match Mandarin in terms of quality, consistency and overall value. A pretty good and super filling lunch for two adults and two seniors for 100 bucks including tax and tip? I'll take it any time. A couple of factors do drop this location down a notch for me, namely the service. Although I did wisely make reservations (it was BUSY) the hostess / manager was rather snide with me because we arrived about seven minutes past our 12:30 reservation...I did explain that it was because grandma is 95 YEARS OLD and doesn't move as quickly as she used to, not to mention the fact that there were no handicap spaces left out in front. She didn't seem too sympathetic to this fact, although we were seated within about two or three minutes. Also the service during our lunch was okay, but it seemed like it was a step down from what we've received at other locations (namely the excellent Mississauga one). I have been to the Mandarin many times and there food and service is so awesome!! I really like the Corn on the Cob, Golden Fish Fillets, Chicken Balls, Rice, along with the Mashed Potatoes. They take the time to create a create and friendly atmosphere for families and individuals like me. The only small suggestion I could say is I wish they have an automatic Ice Cream dispenser like they have at Ceasars Windsor in their buffet aisles. read more

Pleasantly surprised: great customer service, very good selection of food and very good food quality for the most part, a tad pricey, but pretty good all-in-all. My parents decided to take m'lady and I out to a buffet, so lately this Mandarin seems to be their favourite in the area. The servers were quite attentive almost always doing the automatic water refills when our cups were low for eg. The selection of food was pretty good, however the quality of food was hit and miss (most items were quite tasty and fresh, but there were some items that looked rather old). While it had been a while since the last time I'd been to a Mandarin, and I didn't get greeted by each of the staff in a row upon entering the way I was last time I went to a Mandarin, I was still quite pleased with the high level of customer service all-in-all. So I'd love to return back to this venue whenever I'm feeling some AYCE (all you can eat) when in the area :-D read more

Hi London people, you guys are lucky to have Mandarin! The lunch buffet to me was an awesome experience! And only 16.99 per person. Just moved here from Vancouver, BC. I tried a lot of buffet in the westcoast (casinos, and those japanese ones). None of the non-seafood buffet can compare with Mandarin restaurant. So many varieties, and good taste! i got so full and satisfied at last that i couldn't even go to the ice cream bar. I came here for two lunches, one on Thursday and one on Friday.
