We went there at dinner time, none of the BBQ stuffs were available, server said the BBQ was broken. All you can eat is really just cheap sushi, the salad bar was not clean and it had bad smell. There was only one choice for desert, it was a small sugar bomb with artificial colours. Lightning was so dark, flies were flying, I couldn't tell if flies have ever touched my food before it got served by 2miles per hour robot. It's a gimmick to me, concentrate on making your food the best and DROP YOUR PRICES.... $24.99 +tax for a 12 year old kid, $50 now for an adult. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I would consider these prices again if the quality of ALL the food there improves.. As of right now, for these prices and the inconsistency in the food, I can NOT confidently recommend this place over other "all you can eat" sushi places.... We went there for an early dinner. The place was very clean and quiet. As it got later the volume did get a bit louder but no complaints. We have never been to a buffet such as this. I truly enjoyed it. This restaurant is an all you can eat (AYCE). Seniors get a discount and if you pay cash there is another discount. You order your food on an iPad and then push the button for the wait person to order it. Within minutes a little robot or the wait staff delivers it. Amazing how fast the food arrived. During my stay in London, Ontario I came here for sushi and really enjoyed it! After being seated you get a tablet and you're able to select various foods you want and then confirm with the waiter/waitress. After that they start bringing all the food to you. I ordered the Pad Thai with just a variation of different veggie rolls. I've never had a sweet potato tempura roll but it was heavenly and you can't go wrong with a side of spicy mayo. My friend however, ordered everything else, and I mean I just plates of salmon, beef, rice, sushi. I don't know how he ate it all, but he did. Also we had some ice cream for dessert and any time I can get mango anything, that's what I choose, so I tried it and it was amazing. Now, price wise I would say it's pretty much the same as many sushi buffets I've went to in the past, being around $30 per person. We got take out during the COVID-19 lockdown as our first experience with these folks, but I can say the inside of their restaurant (from my limited experience inside) looks to be extremely nice and clean. All the staff appear to be following safety guidelines, and made it possible for me to collect my meal while conforming to social-distancing guidelines; very good! The food itself was great! The portions for what we got was great (we ordered a platter for two folks and then a side of dragon rolls), though admittedly the cost to quantity ratio is a little less than at competitors. This is our go-to sushi takeout spot in London. The sushi and roll boat B is a perfect, easy combo to get for two hungry people. It's only $34 for 40 pieces of nigiri/rolls! My favourite on this platter is the white tuna aka escolar aka butter fish. It lives up to its buttery name and just melts in your mouth. The other raw sushi, Dynamite roll, and Red Dragon roll are decent but not spectacular. Using the iPads to order gave us ample time to look at what we were ordering and consider what to have first then what to have after. 1 less start as I feel the waiter should have told us how the robot works - look for your table number and only collect the food from the tray that is lit up. Its alright, and its what it is - an all you can eat place where you're going to fill yourself up, and not looking for that A+ fresh experience. Went with a 3 other friends for a birthday celebration on a Friday night around 7:45 pm. Did not have a reservation so had to wait around 10 minutes. I've been here a couple times for lunch so I was pretty familiar with the experience - pick and order from the ipad, pretty self explanatory. They had crab legs, shaved ice, seaweed salad, and some other small items at the front to help yourself as well. Two of my friends really liked the crab legs and thought it was the best part of the meal. As for me, I thought it was alright, but quality definitely decreased as we ordered more rounds. The sashimi and sushi was inconsistent, with some being nice and fresh but then mixed in with rounds of chewy and tough. Our tempura orders were also mysteriously forgotten when everything else from one round arrived as well. Their cooked dishes were nicely sized and easily shareable, and they have some interesting combinations of rolls as well - someone please explain the London roll to me? Wish they changed the ordering format where a wait staff has to approve your order to maximize speed but ah well. Tables should also be slightly bigger! Its a challenge in itself when your whole order comes and the staff just pile plates on plates like there's no tomorrow. So many people I know rave about 169 Sushi, but the last three times (I give too many second chances apparently) there has been something that caused me to lose my desire to come here. The service is always mediocre at best. I don't like having to wait for the server to come back to send your order on the iPad. The first of my three unsatisfactory visits had us waiting for 5 minutes minimum for the server to come send our order. Second visit, the rolls were sloppy and we were given food we didn't order not once, but twice. When we went back into the list on the iPad the server still tried to make us take the food. We also waited forever for our ice creams. This was also when the happy birthday song screeched in my ears at ridiculously loud volumes multiple times throughout our visit. It's nice that you place the song for guests celebrating a birthday, but I couldn't talk to my friends because I couldn't hear them over HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEING SCREAMED AT ME. The third and FINAL time I will ever set foot in this place had me sick for the majority of the evening following my visit. A friend and I went for dinner we were both quite ill after our meal. The only item we both consumed was the tempura shrimp which weren't as hot as they are from other sushi places. This should've tipped me off that something wasn't right. Saw that the new location had opened and decided to try their takeout. Place was packed when I arrived to pick up, but my whole meal was ready when I got there. I ordered 2 Bento boxes, a veg tempura app, the banana tempura dessert and a hot and sour soup. Total around $35. Firstly, let me say that that was a TON of food. Just the bentos alone would have been a substantial meal for 2. Both Bentos came with maki. Fish was fresh, rolls tight. Lots of wasabi, soy sauce and ginger provided. Spicy mayo on the side for the rolls it goes with. My bento came also with Gyoza, tempura, salad, miso soup and rice. All of which I was impressed with. Gyoza was tasty and not oil drenched as they sometimes can be. Tempura light and crispy with a good variety of veg (not just sweet potato!) One disappointment was the banana tempura. The batter is much heavier than its savoury counterpart. It had the consistency of corn meal. Maple syrup for dip. Too sweet for me. I was apprehensive about ordering a traditionally Chinese dish from a restaurant specializing in Japanese cuisine. But my fears were unfounded. The hot and sour soup was great. Nice thick broth. When we were finishing the end of our meal we were biting into some edamame when we suddenly discovered we had been eating maggots within our edamame the entire time. When we address their concerns with the staff they seem to find it entertaining and said "oh that's a big one". It's the best AYCE sushi place in London and for 14.99 at lunch, you definitely get your money's worth. I also stopped ordering rolls and started ordering pieces of sushi, which helps when it comes to trying to finish off a giant roll. I really appreciate that they don't try to "trick" you by filling up the sushi pieces with a giant slab of rice to make you feel fuller faster. The fish is pretty fresh and the food is pretty tasty but what really sets this place apart is the service. The restaurant has amazing staff and service. They're really fast and attentive, even on a busy Friday evening. Be warned: this is dangerous, because it's waaaay too easy to order so much food, you're bursting at the seams! I'm not a huge sushi fan but I was happy to see all the other types of food they offer. I even loved quite a bit of the sushi. My favorite was the white tuna sushi and white tuna pizza.
