I love the mandarin I've gone here for my bday for the past 7 years though you should bring back the banana ice cream.

Dine in | Lunch | CA$20-30 Food quality and quantity has drastically decreased, while prices have increased. Even so, it's my moms fav place so I sucked it up and took her anyway. The selection was far less than usual, with multiples of the exact same dish being offered up for the missing originals. Salad dressing for the Caesar was non existent, after being told the lobster bisque soup was being replaced it never was. Low mein was dry and tasteless and chow mein and fish was left off for this day. The only other choice I had was the Wonton soup. and was severely burned with zero help from the staff and they didn't even want to fill out an incident report. They also didn't have any sort of first aid kit, as all they offered me was a few ice cubes wrapped in a paper napkin. I was told it didn't look that bad. The food was ok. But the server Alan was great. The Manager is the sole reason for the 1 if I could give zero stars i would have! Our daughter had major mouth surgery and had 3 wisdom teeth removed the a day before we came to the restaurant for her grandmother's birthday so she wanted to come and celebrate with the family. The down side she could only eat a few mushed up veggies and a scoop of mashed potatoes. Our 2 year old niece ate twice as much as our 17 year old and her meal was free. We talked to the manager before we ordered and explained the situation and his only offer was full price of $40.99 or she could order off the take out menu which was full price as well. I wasn't looking for a free meal but a discount or to pay the kids price would have been good but no such offer was given. So we paid $40.99 plus $2.50 for a glass of milk for 1 spoon full of mashed potatoes and 3 pieces of zucchini and 1 piece of shrimp!! Most expensive plate of food i have ever paid for in my life! This experience has tainted me from ever coming back!! So disappointed. This was an excellent buffet with lots of options to choose from. The interior is quite clean and well maintained, and there is lots of seating space for dining. Every food option here is delicious, it doesn't matter what you get here! Service is also quite friendly. The only reason I took off one star is because I do find the price to be a bit much (nearly $35-40 per person for dinner is a bit on the steep side). So basically, if you do come here, you'd better come on an empty stomach! read more

Probably the best all you can eat *general* Asian cuisine in London. Yes, there are other places here that are not large chains, but they also tend to suffer in terms of quality. If you're looking for specific types of food, (sushi, pad thai, etc.), they are pretty decent here but don't bank your experience on one kind of food. It's about variety. There is something for everyone. The staff are very welcoming and do a good job of attending to everyone even when very busy. I've never been disappointed with this place before and I come here a lot. Today was a huge disappointment. The Hostess had no idea what she was doing when telling us about the wait time. Forgot to take pictures ‍ overall a great buffet. Due to covid you must put in plastic gloves when handling food and discard then get gloves again. Food was tasty. Lots of small eats, an array of dinner dishes with sides, salad bar, fresh waffles, ice cream station, desserts (by that time I was done!). Grill station - preferred the steak to the lamb roast dinner! As we attended for a birthday we took advantage of the offer (birthday boy was free!), they even came around to our table took a pic and framed it for us in a magnetic frame! Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada, and this year no cooking a turkey and all that , so we choose The New Mandarin on Hyde Pk Road , First it's beautiful interior with many large Dining rooms and we were escorted to table of 6 in E The buffet is in the center of the restaurant , and it's exceptional . Considering it's a buffet, the food was decently fresh and very tastefully presented. Staff were very attentive to detail and needs of patrons. My wife and I have been enjoying Mandarin restaurants for so many years, I've lost count, we have been enjoying Mandarin buffet ever since we lived in Toronto, at least 22 years, we loved in T.O., and we love it here in London On., and we really like their new location! The one thing that draws us here is the quality of their food, and the variety of hot and cold dishes 2 choose from, something 4 everyone, Canadian, Oriental, Asian, sushi and salad bar, plus different soups, and a great dessert selection. The one thing that also draws us here, the courteous staff, and if by chance y ou are not happy about something, or have a question, ask 4 the manager, he or she will be glad 2 oblige. We are going there 4 lunch, and I'm excited, I personally do not live 2 eat, but eat 2 live, this is a real treat 4 us, join us there you won't be sorry, I can ensure you. 2 happy seniors... read more

I've been coming to this place since it located on Hyde park.....not once until today was I given a hard time for being a senior. Totally embarrassing that this one time when I have no id they refuse to acknowledge me as a senior. So I refuse to eat at regular prices. The rest of my table are eating. Very good and consistent for a buffet. The service is always good and the restaurant is spotless considering how many people come through.

Too bad I had to give one star. They did not earn it. We have been going there for years. Normally a four star experience. Last visit in June was a two star meal. Yesterday was a dining disaster. We could not find hot food.The sushi was terrible I can only describe it as old. The wonton soup was not edible.The kitchen staff filled a pan of French fries as a joke I put two on my plate and said "look hot food! they were cold. I told our server we could not find hot food. She politely apologized.Just before I I went out the door a women stopped me and introduced herself as one of the owners. She acknowledged that we had told the server about cold food. She asked if we were planning on coming back,apologized and wished me a good day. I think that would of been a good time to offer a complimentary something. We are visiting from the states and that could be why we were so disappointed in the food. When we called for delivery, the employee who answered was very thorough in our order and got everything correct. However, it took them at least 90min to deliver the food. We were staying at a hotel and assumed (our mistake) that they would provide some eating utensils. The food was mediocre at best for what we paid for. read more

3 1/2 stars. Nice roomy interior, staff very helpful and courteous. My party did not think the food was as good and there seemed to be less choices than the other Mandarin in south London. However location counts for a lot and we did not have to drive to the south end of the city from the north end. Go check out both locations and judge for yourself. Thnx. read more

Went to this (new) location for the first time last night! It was good, but nothing special. I remember there to be more variety in types of dinner food than there were available. Also, most of the foods are fried/greasy food. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not where you would want to go to eat healthy. The food was nothing special to me, however the service was what stood out. Every staff member I encountered was phenomenal, helpful and warm. When we walked in the door, I counted atleast SIX people greeting and welcoming my boyfriend and I. That was very nice. Our server was great, too.
