Connie & Peter decided…read moreto retire pursuant to COVID & the road construction ergo, the restaurant is now closed. We moved to BC 20 years ago and prior to that were frequent customers for 25 years. The city never paid any attention to the businesses while approving the extensive road construction. Since our recent return we see London is a city in utter DECAY and will never return to its original form. Downtown Dundas street is diseased so no one wants to go there. Forget about new Dim Sum restaurants opening as that will NEVER happen. We are sorry to come back to garbage dump. We wish Connie & Peter the best & a long life is retirement. Imagine,,, Kitchener has 4 Dim Sum restaurants.

Best Dim Sum in London (Hong ping coming in at second place). The reason why this place takes over…read moreHong Ping is because they offer all day Dim Sum. They are also always very consistent with the quality of Dim Sum they offer and affordable pricing. The other places usually sacrifice one for the other but Tak Sun checks off all the boxes for perfect Dim Sum. *Recommendations* Things to order but not limited to: chive kaw, shrimp har kaw, tak sun special bun. Other Dim Sum regulars: bbq pork bun, spare ribs, pork siu mai etc. *Atmosphere* It's got an old Chinese restaurant feel to it. Decor definitely has a 90s feel to it and I don't mind it at all because for those that grew up going to Chinese restaurants with this type of decor can associate it with many good memories. *conclusion* If you are looking for quality Dim Sum in London, look no further this is your spot. If you've had Dim Sum in Toronto or the GTA, this place would be the equivalent to those places but cheaper. As for the regular menu I cannot say much as I've not had enough on it to make an adequate review. From what I have eatin though (like the Cantonese style sweet & sour pork) it's amazing. A follow up review will be made regarding the regular menu. Oh ya the service is awesome, if you get the lady she is really funny and recommends dishes that are tasty. The young man is helpful as well if you get him, they are both fantastic at explaining the dishes. I've attached the Dim Sum menu*

If you don't know what to order, ask someone who knows to take you there and try real Chinese food. Having lived in Hong Kong I can tell you the DIM SUM is the best around including Toronto. We live in London, Ontario and drive 90 minutes to enjoy the DIM SUM at KING TIN.........TAK SUN restaurant in London had excellent DIM SUM but the owners retired..........If you don't eat Chicken Balls or Chop Suey please write me and I will create a menu for your eating pleasure. KING TIN is the best around so don't miss eating here and stop reading stupid unwarranted reviews from unknowledgeable writers.................. Trust me - I know what I a talking about. By the way, by writing good reviews increases the patrons making it harder for me to get a table.

Here's what we got: * sliced pork and vegetable soup * braised bean curd with vegetables * peking duck * (my favorite) * Braised Beef with Ginger and Onion * Cantonese style ginger lobster * Shrimp Mango Sautée Dimsum: * Siu Mai w/ Minced Pork * Pot Stickers * Shrimp Noodle Roll Service was excellent! Our server was friendly and enthusiastic as she brought dish after dish, never leaving us short of tea or napkins. She even gave us extra dessert as my father and I really liked it. There's a handful of parking spots outside, not much though. Great for family and friends, lots of seating inside. Good for groups of 2-8. This is one of the most affordable Chinese restaurants I've found, it's super affordable and for 7 people, our bill came to about $250.

Not one time did anyone answer my call so I never bothered to go there. Buy the way, the first reviews were written in 2018 - who knows what has changed over 8 years. By the way, since TAK SUN closed, there is not one DIM SUM restaurant in London, Ontario. Uncle Sing on Adelaide is a joke & Congee Chan on Wonderland Rd. North hs very good food but their DIM SUM is very mediocre at best and the selection is limited.

We ordered from Macau because we had ordered from there before and they seemed like a safe bet. However... When we got our order we were eating our soups and apps before the mains when my wife asked "What is this?" after cutting open her spring roll to add sauce. What she proceeded to pull out of the roll were four long, thin, pieces of plastic. Ok. We called the restaurant to complain only to be told the manager wouldn't be in for half an hour and would we call back. So we moved on to the mains. The only thing not overcooked was the rice. The chicken was overdone and the noodles were crispy/overdone/burnt. When I called back I was told the manager was not only not in, she would be off for the next two days. I told them that unless I was contacted this evening, I would be contacting the Middlesex Health Unit. Eventually, maybe an hour later, the manager called. As to the plastic, it was a 'mistake' and for the rest 'the noodles are always crispy'. Long story short, not only was I told that I would not be refunded my money or given a credit in kind but that the only thing they would offer me was Dinner for Two. Yeah good luck with that.

So amid the pandemic times, the cravings for dim sum were real. Heard about crystal palace but I've…read morenever been so decided to try it out. Ordered: Har gow (shrimp dumplings) Good size, 4 in an order. Average. Shrimp were flavorful. The skin fell apart quite badly even after a cooling period. If you don't know, crystal skins on dumplings bream quicker if you try to grab them straight out of the steamer. We had about 20 min from take out pick up for it to rest and it still broke a part.... Siu mai Pork and beef dumplings were a good size, again 4 in an order. Preferred the beef over the pork. The beef siu mai tasted like a regular dimsum beef ball. No crunchy water chestnut textures though that you usually find. The pork tasted very porky - I wouldn't order this again from here. Lotus leaf glutinous rice with chicken 2 in an order The pork and mushroom mixture in between the rice was very minimal. The flavour was lacking. I thought the rice was the better part of the rice dumpling ; others thought that the meat part was better. Not the biggest fan. Szechuan green paper / eggplant with shrimp paste So the sauce is on point. Nice soy and black bean sauce; not spicy at all. The shrimp paste is your typical shrimp fish ball flavour. It was fried really well. The surprise this time was the Glutinous dumpling with Pork. Fried nicely. The filling was a good balance of salt and sweet. The outside was sweet and sticky. Overall, it was an ok dim sum place. The pick up was fast. The food was hot. Very limited dim sum menu.

Shanghai Xiaolong buns. Not as good as the ones from my hometown Jiangyin (we specialize in Xiaolong buns). These are rather dry.
