Ordered lemon chicken but the sauce was sweet and sour I asked for new sauce they brought out same sauce. I had to wait about 5 min. before she came back and I said this is the same sauce, she said that is our lemon sauce . I guess most of their dishes are made with the same sauce. As for me, I think the food is great as far as other Asian restaurants do around here. We always spend very little for the lunch specials and the service is always fast. My dad and I went here for a late lunch (paid dinner prices). The servings were a good size. I got general two chicken and had plenty for leftovers the next day. My dad got the shrimp and pea pods and was very pleased with the freshness, flavor, and amount of veggies and shrimp that came with it. He also had enough for leftovers. Worth every penny. read more

This place got over 4 stars and really good reviews, so we decided to try it out. I don't even know where to begin. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, potstickers and pork chow mien. My husband got sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and pork chow mien. I can say without a doubt, that it was absolutely the worst meal I have ever had in my life! I have never had pork chow mien that was a bunch of mushy vegetables with the hard, crunchy chow mien noodles that come out of the can and bacon bits on top of it! The General Tso's chicken was like eating a non sweet old fashioned donut with a sliver (I kid you not) of chicken and the pot stickers were super crunchy. Too be honest, I couldn't tell you if they had meat in them or not because they were too dry to swallow. My husband's sweet and sour was exactly like my chicken and his fried rice was just white rice with green onions and bacon bits. He's Asian and this was pretty embarrassing for him. I really tried to eat it because I hate wasting food, but I just couldn't! I ended up having a McFlurry for dinner, which was 100 times better! I like food from this place! Usually I have it to go but after tonight I'm not sure I'll ever dine in ever again. 2 things 1. With the dinner I ordered it came on 2 different plates one with rice the other with chicken both were good rice was a little dry and chicken didn't have nearly enough sweet and sour sauce over it alot of it was at the bottom. I feel if you could use bigger plates like platter size with the same amount of food would make it easier to eat and then I could have my rice mixed in with my chicken. Not a very happy camper about a server and a customer that was in the restaurant tonight Thursday April 7th around 8:30ish or so this group of boys came in well the one wearing his track suit still was being very loud and a complete show off. Well the waitress that helped us she done her job and helped us fine but she kept shooting the breeze with these guys every so often. The one boy who was the show off talk black kid thought he was all that and a bag of chips cause he had all these medals around his neck like he's something special. Anyways when I went to go pay for my food the waitress and him were kinda some arguing something about paying for his own meal. When she asked him step aside cause there were other people waiting he for a minute then cut right back in front of me. So I was like really??!! He was being disrespectful and a big flaming douche! I've always had a great experience at Mandarin. Their food is tasty, the portions are plentiful, and the servers are always kind and attentive. My water glass has never been close-to-empty here, which I really appreciate. They have great lunch specials that fit a college budget and still leave you with leftovers. This place is pretty good! I had fried rice and an egg roll when I went. My husband had orange chicken with rice. Now I thought it was great. But my husband is extremely pick and didn't think it was much to talk about. I tasted the same thing he had and I really liked it. So bottom line it comes down to your own taste buds. My suggestion would be to try it out though. I'd definitely go again, no questions asked :) PS. Some people have said they deliver. My husband I were so excited to come back to this place since we are visiting for the holidays. The guy that sat us was so rude making smart ass remarks to us and treating us like we were kids. Even sarcastically calling my husband and I "cute" which I didn't appreciate. After he sat us he sat behind the counter with his arms folded looking bored. Find something to do other than staring at us while we eat! We went to pay and he said "what was better the food or the gossip?" Then he made another smart a remark about my husbands shirt. A couple of my friends brought me here claiming that it was the best Mexican food I would ever have. While the service was great, the food was another story. I got orange chicken and white rice and it was okay at best. The rice to chicken ratios was WAY off (there was not enough rice) and the sauce on the chicken itself was too sweet. This is the best Mandarin Chinese food I have ever eaten. Its better than any Asian restaurant I have been to. The food is so fresh and everything I have had so far is packed with flavor. Also the portion sizes are huge! My friend and I went there randomly for dinner one night and we learned the hard way that one dish is enough for two but we saved the leftovers and it was just as good the next day! If anyone hasn't tried this place out yet you must! You wont regret it! The only thing I wish they had was music playing over the speakers. It makes it a bit awkward that you can hear the other people talk so clearly. Two plates and an order of dumplings was 28.00. If you like mainland Chinese food, this place might be for you. They didn't have boiled dumplings, instead, they were fried and overly crispy. The fried rice wasn't like any I'd had before. It wasn't awful, but also wasn't good. The Moo Goo Gai Pan and Broccoli Chicken we ordered were indistinguishable, except for the fact that one had peas and one had broccoli. Definitely not for me. Giving this place two stars because the service was great but the food was mediocre and super unauthentic. I was deeply disappointed because so many people told me it was good. I ordered the egg rolls and rice with a side of General Tao's sauce. I wish I could say it was worth it. The sauce was not authentic. The rice kind of had a strange after-taste. The egg rolls had pork in them- which was a disappointment since I don't eat meat (the menu didn't say what it had in it). But even the egg rolls weren't authentic.
