Always has been one of my favorite places to get chineese food, although I do not eat it much and only have been to a handful of places, always have found here to be very reasonable. Came in tonight with a friend from work after spending the afternoon up at Fern Valley Farm to grab some dinner. We split an egg drop soup, I never have had before and personally will probably not have again with there being more choices I probably would enjoy more. So we ordered take out for delivery and when it arrived, I realized there was no rice. I could have called them and asked them to redeliver rice, but being Christmas Eve I thought why bother. I had Sweet and Sour soup, which was very good and fresh. We also ordered fried Dumplins which was good, a bit pricey though. I got the Egg Rolls that were average. Main course, I got General Tso's and asked for it extra spicy, it wasn't spicy at all, which was a huge disappointment. Actually bland... Come here quite often. Overall the food is very good. Prices are reasonable and service is very good. Had shrimp with lobster sauce and was pretty disappointed. Brown sauce with hamburger does not qualify as lobster sauce. I don't think they realize what the authentic recipe is. We enjoyed the meals in general. Very pleasant place to dine. read more

eating inside is a lot better than getting delivery. Unfortunately when I had worked at a certain facility and we would order from here all the time, they would never give us utensils. Or napkins. It's just straight up food a lot of times they would forget too and you would have to call them back. But when you go and sit down at the restaurant, it's a whole, totally different experience they treat you with such kindness and respect. Give you as many napkins as you need, make sure you have utensils, and they're very kind and courteous. On September 1, 2022, our favorite Chinese restaurant, Ginger Blossom (https://www.yelp.com/biz/ginger-blossom-springfield) unexpectedly closed. They seemed to do well despite the pandemic, but changed ownership sometime in the last couple of years. The beginning of the end perhaps was the fact that since around July they did not have a sushi chef, but they also did some renovations in preparation of the return of dine-in service that never seemed to materialize for them. Regardless, my wife and I would order take-out every Friday (the same five appetizers - spring rolls, crab rangoons, pan-fried meat dumplings, boneless spare ribs, and fried chicken fingers - and some entree), and the staff got to become familiar with me as a result. (Is that a good thing or not?) Super disappointing to see them go. I realized recently that I never reviewed them, but I would have given them four stars. In the weeks since, we've been trying to find a new Chinese restaurant that could possibly hold a candle to Ginger Blossom without being too far away. We tried Mandarin Wilbraham on the suggestion of a former coworker, and my wife and I both could not finish the food. The boneless spare ribs and spring rolls both had a weird flavor. The crab rangoons were undercooked and seriously lacking in filling. The dumplings had too much juice in them. It really missed the mark and we were both disappointed. After years of going to Ginger Blossom, I did learn that sometimes Chinese food can vary wildly in consistency, so maybe we caught Mandarin Wilbraham on a bad day? But it was a really bad first impression and I'm not sure we'll give them a second chance because of it. (Edit: I also remembered that I spent as much here as I usually did at Ginger Blossom AFTER a tip! I appreciate the response from the business but I cannot imagine having the complete opposite experience that I did from this one visit.) read more

I remember a wonderful restaurant in Natick Massachusetts , Lotus Flowerand the lovely lady owner telling me about her friends place, Mandarin in Wilbraham. So we've enjoyed the great food for take out twice now in recent months. Pu pu platter for one is a great assortment of appetizers. Brown pork fried rice was excellent. My wife loves the old school chicken chow mein with crispy noodles on top. Her favorite. So if you too are craving excellent Chinese food then you need to try Mandarin in Wilbraham. I have lived relatively close to this place for the last few years and I only tried it recently, which is sad. Take out of course during this strange time. The fiancé ordered a serving of pork fried rice with won ton soup-- he felt that his meal was pretty basic and nothing out of the ordinary. Not the best sushi or service I've had. We ordered pick-up and the service was short, impatient and to the point when we picked up the food. We ordered two sushi rolls and a large hot and sour soup. The sushi rolls came in the same container which isn't a big deal but it's not exactly easy to move a whole roll of sushi to another plate. I'm also not a fan of eel so I didn't really like the idea of the flavors of the volcano roll mingling with my red heart maki. The soup was delicious but half of the red heart maki wasn't all that fresh and the tuna had a dull grayish/pink color while the other half was bright red and tasty. I'll probably choose to make a further drive next time for tastier sushi. read more

I love this place! Great food and people. The food is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Their "secret" Mai Tai and Scorpion Bowl recipe is delish and packs a punch. It's family owned so they take great pride in their food, service and décor. Unlike many Chinese places that will not substitute anything, they will for an upcharge if the item you want is more expensive than the menu item ingredient. Their fried items are never greasy and the batter is always light, crisp and golden brown and in their wok stir fired dishes, the vegetables are never overcooked and their sauces are delicious.
