She is busy so yes your appointment might not be a quick walk in and walk out kind of job. ( If you are time restricted you have to let her know when you make your appointment and remind her when you walk in) But let me ask you this, would you spend an extra 15 min making sure your nail polish is dry so it lasts you a week or would you rush out and walk around with a smudge for the rest of week? I waited a few years to post this because I can't let it go…read more Rachel didn't pass the vibe check but I didn't take it personal it was still early. I walked in and had to wait over an hour. No big deal I'll catch up on reading. I had my consultation and she went to work. She gave me a perm and cut. It turned out ok. Not the best I've had but she still did a good job. I told her my goal was to eventually lighten my hair and when should I come back. She told me to book for 2 weeks. I returned and she had bleach put in my hair that she permed 2 weeks prior. Not color but bleach! I didn't know what it was when it was initially being applied by her assistant. I should have walked out when the assistant asked 2x if that was what she wanted to put in my hair without saying what it was. My hair now has thinning and has not grown back healthy as it once was. I spent almost $500 in 2 weeks only to have missing patches of hair that turned to straw. After my service her instructions were to make sure I get my protein treatments. Long story short ALL of my hair started to fall out within a week. By week two I had significant loss. I messaged her and instead of taking responsibility she proceeded by protecting herself by saying "I told you this probably wasn't a good idea." THAT WAS A FLAT OUT LIE! She is the professional why would I tell her what to do after being told it would damage my hair. She told me to book 2 weeks out. Better question is, why would she do it if she knew it wasn't a good idea?! Plain and simple GREED! Yes, I made sure to get a protein treatment but was told my hair was dead and needed to be cut all off. The only reason she was not sued is because of my barber Noah who said I should pray for her and chalk it up to a bad experience. His thought was not to destroy her business or reputation. I tried to let it go. I am all for supporting black businesses but SOME black business owners need to do better. The greed, the attitudes, and the over inflated prices need to be addressed. Rachel basically took my money, destroyed my hair, all with an attitude. I HAVE RECEIPTS SO IF YOU DECIDE TO RESPOND, DO IT HONESTLY.

Diva Styles was the most cleanest salon I've ever been to, I was instantly greeted as I walked in on my first visit by one of the stylist. They play nice music (that's enjoyable) and again did I mention how clean it was? I was introduced to Natashia, While she was already working on a client head. Some backstory (if you care), I'm originally from Houston and moved to DFW in May 2022 after getting married. I had been going to my Curly Hair specialist in Houston since 2016 and tried to continue going after moving, but it was just not practical and sustainable with my hectic schedule. I knew I needed to find a new expert, but I'm sure everyone reading this understands how stressful this process is. I did extensive research to find a DFW Curly experts and came across 2 options and Lorens was one. She actually even recommended the 2nd person I was already eyeing in case her own availability didn't work for me - shows you how sweet of a human and supportive of her fellow curl experts she is! After looking at reviews, pictures, her socials etc I booked an appointment and I am thoroughly satisfied! My curls have been on a journey since 2016 and she took the time to understand that journey and me! She is truly more than just a hair stylist. Although I had experience with curly cuts and other curly hair related appointments in the past, she still treated me with the same amount of care and educated me and made me feel amazing about my hair and self when I walked out! After all is said and done, I walked out with a mini fro...not curls, but a fro. It wasn't until I got home that I realized just how much of my hair was cut. I specifically asked for a trim, but so much of my hair had been cut. I am not happy with the services I received. There's nothing to be done now because my hair is gone. Just be aware.
