OMG! I have lived in the area for 2 years and JUST discovered this local GEM! First off: spotlessly clean and well appointed. LOVE! Upon check in I was offered water with berries - yummy and refreshing! Chyna - one of the managers was so professional, welcoming and sweet! Love her! Jessica - she gave me a tightening laser treatment followed by 12 units of Botox ($12 per unit!). She has 15+ years experience and is just SOOOOO GOOD at her job. Today I had the worst experience. I scheduled a a virtual online visit with Unicorn salon, I uploaded photos of my hair, shared photos of what I wanted. To blend in my gray hair ( no yellow tones) I was quoted $230.00 with a $20 dollar deposit to set up my appointment. I met Faith, confirmed what I wanted and she said that was not a problem, she increased the amount from $230 to $250, I questioned the difference, she said they needed to tone down my hair, so I felt I was in good hands, she started the process, said she was going to need another session to get to the exact gray tone I wanted? I said I understood, I just didn't want the yellow tone, she said no problem. While working on my hair, I was provided with a sheet & was asked to do a review & get $5 discount, so I did, I wrote a nice review on yelp, even though she was still working on my hair & was was not close to being done. I didn't hesitate to do the review & few minutes later, said ask if I could do a 2nd review on google for an additional $10.00 off, I said why not & I did! It never went through my mind that something could go wrong, ( RED FLAG) I should have waited. But I felt I was in good hands. As she was washing my hair, a customer was upset, her roots were not matching the rest of her hair. ( RED FLAG) she washed my hair & I noticed it was too dark, she told me not to worry as wet hair does not have the same color she dried my hair & I told her once again, my hair is too dark, no gray at all, she said it would require more sessions to get to where I wanted my hair to be. My hair had no gray tones at all, and the only gray was my hairline, that's not even close to what I had requested and was not satisfied, Rebecca Morgan is the manager, she tried to sweet talk her way out of the situation by saying my hair will lighten after a few washes ( really!!) what a way to handle a problem. Then she has the odasity to offer option 1, to dye my hair line darker, option 2 to add highlights to even out the white patches along the hairline. I was so upset that she would offer to darken my hair, when I stated clearly I wanted my hair to blend in with my gray. I never wanted to go darker!! I kept my composure even though I didn't feel comfortable and i definitely didn't want them to touch my hair and damage my hair more, I felt disappointed, & realized it was the worst decision coming here. It's clear that management doesn't care about their customers. All they care about is collecting the money & to move on to their next victim. Thats exactly how I felt. I walked out of there, upset, disappointed and felt taken advantage of. I paid $193.50 for a horrible service. The worst part is that as a manager, she failed to provide what's more important, customer satisfaction. She clearly ignored the horrible job that was done to my hair. And to think they trick their customers to write a review while they are still working on the client, it's very sneaky. So be careful with this salon, Not only do they advertised as very professional & high end, just to experience a SIX HOUR disaster. I should have known it was too good to be true. I recall seeing that they specialize on hair color, ( what a joke) The hair stylists needs to be open and honest with clients, if they don't believe they can achieve something, YOU DO NOT EXPERIMENT ON YOUR CLIENTS LIKE THEY ARE LAB RATS. The sad part is that you can't tell I just came out of a salon. Very unprofessional for asking me to pay, thinking that if she deducts a portion is sufficient to walk out of their place looking horrible as I did. And to top it off, I was angry at my self for not finding the courage to refuse to pay. And she acted as if nothing was wrong, look at my photos and tell me if you can tell the difference on my hair from when I walked in to get their service and to when I walked out. I saw a FB post requesting hair models for 50.00, they called me for my appointment the very next day. I requested full highlights they said 85 + 15 for blowout. I was a little concerned because they send you a YouTube video & turn by turn instructions on where you need to park & go from there. It all worked out & found it no problem. When I entered they greet you ask if you would like an adult beverage or mock-tail. They give a satin wrap before being taken back . The facility is beautiful on the inside with chandeliers, beautiful chairs to sit in & just a very upbeat environment. I showed the stylist a pic of what I was wanting & she said she no problem. She could do that. She was fast and the shampoo was fabulous, the massage w/lavender was a nice touch when we got back to her station. In the end my hair looked nothing like the picture, but it did look good. It wasn't something i could not live with, it's just not what I was looking for. All & all this place has excellent customer service & is beautiful. I did have to pay 20.00 to park! Go give them a try they specialize in extensions and have a line of colors to choose from. I was going in for a FB promoting RF treatment for that fat under the chin. They said it would be $50. I got a treatment but when I noticed the medspa lady was cleaning my face and prepping my face but not the chin- I asked her if she was going to do the chin. She said she had not seen that in the notes as to why I was there. She said she could do it next time with the packages they offered which were hundreds of dollars and packages of treatments. I allowed her to proceed with doing the face and not the chin as I had paid a deposit required of $20 towards the $50 promotion. She was trying to sell me products the entire time but did have a great bedside manner and in my opinion did a very good job with cleaning my face and being nice. Which these days is rare especially in expensive places. She proceeded with telling me about all the services and had me at haircuts given my master stylists. When she finished my treatment, she walked me over to the stylist area. A "master stylist" with a full hair of extensions and full make up came to meet me followed by another stylist who looked miserable and now I understand why and you will as well as you finish reading what happened at this NON Accredited business. I thought, wow she is done up and given the title of MASTER hairstylist even at her young age, I cannot wait to walk out with fabulous layers! I was told the hair cut was $110 from a Master stylist or $60 by the apprentices while I was in the medspa side and I was okay with that if it meant I was going to get a super professional haircut. I showed her videos and photos of inspo pics from Tiktok. She told me that "it would be nice if we all had thick hair to have hair like that" Flag number 1 that I ignored. The stylist low key already knew that she could not deliver during the consultation and proceeded to move forward anyway. I told her I wanted a lot of layers (I have medium long hair with a previous butterfly haircut from 7 months ago - which means I had some layers but they were long). I asked her can you do that? She replied 'yes". She mentioned cutting some of my dark length and if she cut it it would brighten my ook, so I told her I trusted her since she was a master stylist and she began cutting... she snipped her and there for about 3-5 minutes and took off my hair cape. I was extremely confused as looked the same, I had not been given any layers and all she did was trim my hair along the same layers I already had. In the front where I asked for curtain bangs - she did cut about 10 strands of hair shorter than the others so it blended back in with the rest of the hair. No styling, no nothing was done. I ended up immediately taking pictures - I thought maybe because she did it on dry hair I could not see the layers. I was charged $140 that day leaving disappointed and sad that I did not get the amazing haircut I expected. I attempted to get a refund back but they only offered a consultation and said they have a policy of not doing refunds. Flag #2 was that their social media has about 200 followers and 10 pictures of mediocre hair extensions. Please do not think that just because a salon charges high prices it means they will deliver. This was disgusting and I know this "master stylist" gets away with this alot because of their "policy" she is NOT a master and the stylist following her around cleaning up after her haircuts knows it and is miserable having to see her mediocre work getting nearl double than she ... This place is a joke and btw not accredited by the BBB which it was my fault for not checking before I got excited about a "model promotion". read more

I just paid full price out of my own pocket when I had hundreds of dollars in credit at this salon. I gave this place so many chances. I gave this place over $3k and none of my money was worth the experiences I've had here. Every single time I've been here, I've been let down. But today was the last straw. A little over a year ago, When I got extensions here, way too much hair was put in my head, on top of that it wasn't the same texture as my "cotton candy" hair as Pam acknowledged it, my roots didn't match the extensions roots at all (which you could very easily see due to my fine hair) and my hair was not cut to be blended into the extensions. They just let me walk out with no blending. I had random people telling me I needed to get my hair blended with my extensions. I didn't even know they should've be blended. Never had extensions. I was never asked if I wanted to blend my hair with the extensions. I had to come back and tell Pam to blend my extensions after being embarrassed. The third time I got them moved up, Pam did them to tight in one spot and I asked her to redo it and she said it would be fine. It wasn't- 2 days later, That same spot in the track was ripped out of my head while I was brushing my hair. I immediately went to get them removed and Pam joked around that I was "having too much fun in bed" and I can't tell you how upset that made me that she didn't own up to her mistake but I bit my tongue because I knew she must've been embarrassed that she didn't redo that spot in the track like I asked her to just a few days before. Which is still here a year later. I had many more months of move ups that I had paid for in advance- and so I asked if I could give the credit to a friend, the answer was no. Which is ridiculous. So another stylist asked her boss if she could switch my package to a facial package, her boss simply said yes and she got so excited. I had the facial, one girl was "training" and was in the room with us, watching. Both of their phones kept going off. Not a pleasant experience. Because I didn't want to get another facial, for my own personal space issues, I called and cancelled the rest of the appointments, thinking they could switch the package just like they did before, so easily, with no problems. I thought it was a given that I didn't want the facials anymore. So here I am a few months later and I want to get a tone and cut for my hair, fully expecting my credit would pay for it (which is hundreds of dollars BTW) and so the service is done (choppy, and my highlights are freaking gray, almost blue, but I let it go because I'm really not one to be unforgiving and I know in a few weeks it will be fine. but my last straw was being told that my credit wouldn't pay for the cut and tone I got. I'm just straight up amazed. I'm fully convinced that yall just took my money and ran. Pam didn't want to tell me I would have to cut my hair to make the extensions look good, or pay more later to color match the roots. Way too much hair was put in my head. Today when the chick asked Pam what toner she should use in my hair, Pam said "whatever". This is just straight up the most unprofessional, impersonal, worst Solon I've ever been to, and I would never recommend anyone come here. They're just trying to pay the rent to be on a nice street in downtown town, they don't care what it takes. They're don't care about you, they care about your money. Hope yall enjoy my credit! Because I'm not coming back. Hundreds of thousands of dollars down the drain. I'm just glad this month is the last payment I will be making to this salon. Well, it was more like 2 payments because I did have to pay 100 something dollars for my cut and tone today. When someone is paying you thousands of dollars, that means they trust you to do what's best for them. Horrible customer service. I asked to be paired with an experienced colorist and they paired me with a beginner. The session took 8 hours for a full highlight. And the toner she used turned my hair green. Literally dark GREEN. after bursting into tears, the hair stylist said I needed pay for the products used. I literally thought I was getting pranked. I had no issue paying for whatever cost I needed to FIX my green hair, but the hair stylist said there wasn't a way she could take out the green toner. This place is so beautiful when you first walk in. I was welcomed by the lovely receptionist and given a robe. I loved the entire aesthetic and the way this place is designed. During my service I was constantly checked in on if I needed any thing. I was offered water and a mimosa to drink. My hairstylist was Scarlet and I would highly recommend her! She was very professional and sweet. During my service I was already recommending this lovely place to multiple of my peers. I've been going to Unicorn for a year and a half. The service provided has been good for the most part but this last visit was frustrating. In October 2023 I got my first set of hair extensions. Brown with blonde highlights. Color was perfect. In October 2024 I got new extensions. I intended to purchase the exact same color of extensions, however, the stylist suggested something new; blonde and longer. Trusting her, I said okay. Paid for highlights so my real hair matches the new extensions. Now, four months later, the extensions are orange. I was told that it was because of the type of water I have at home, and that I will have to pay to have it corrected. So I paid for a specific product in a specific color, that product changed to an completely different color and I am solely responsible for that. Bad business. I should have been told that there is a chance that the extensions will change color. I'm not a hair professional and had no idea as I have never been blonde. So on top of paying $1,500 for extensions and a package to move the extensions up, I then had to pay $105 for toner to not have orange extensions and $175 for a small amount of color so that my real hair matches the new color of the extensions. I was also told this is an ongoing cost because the toner will fade. I'm very disappointed in the way it all fell back on me to correct. The salon took no responsibility and no help financially to correct the problem. read more

This place turned my extensions $1600 tape in extensions orange the owner Rocky was so dismissive & was just absolutely rude to me. Not to mention I was getting highlights done already but then charging me an additional $62 for a blowout without any style and damp hair afterwards because, after my wash, I was sent to a stylist who clearly didn't know what to do with my extensions. Even though I had made a my appointment with a specific stylist. I asked the owner and stylist what they could do, and they told me it was SPF and asked me where I was from when I asked about the upcharge for a blowout since you literally have to dry your hair after getting highlights. Owner proceeds to ask where I'm from instinctively assuming I wasn't from the area but have been living here over 4 years now & have been to other salons that didn't charge me $62 for a blow out after destroying my hair extensions... I didn't like the vibes here at all, and the mimosa I was given was 100% all orange juice.... Lol Very disappointed with how I was treated at this salon if you choose to go here I hope they treat you kinder. read more

I drove from Wichita to Dallas after seeing this salon on Instagram. I'M SO THANKFUL I MADE THE TRIP!! I had the best experience at Unicorn Hair Extensions salon! The staff were all very friendly, professional, and they offered me a complimentary drink menu when I checked in! I enjoyed a few very pretty glitter drinks that were also so good ! We don't get this kind of treatment in a salon where I'm from. The salon is the Holy Grail of salon decor and they have fun music playing! My AMAZING stylist Jazmin was on point with everything!! She matched my color and extensions perfectly! The owner (Rocky), came in for a staff meeting & stopped to greet me personally and made me feel very welcome! BUT, there was one thing that intrigued me the most. I was at the salon literally all day. Throughout the day I heard employee after employee talk about how wonderful the Owner of the salon is. And how they feel so blessed to work for a woman like her. They talked about how empowering she is to other women and how she truly supports women. All of this was BEHIND HER BACK. When employees can say such wonderful things about the owner of a company, you know it's something special. For this reason alone, I will continue to drive 5.5 hours to Dallas to get my hair done! Oh and Rocky's adorable 10yr old daughter has a motto "Girls Support Girls & Women Support Women". How stinkin adorable is that?! If you are on the fence about getting extensions, just do it for yourself. I left the salon feeling fabulous and confident, with gorgeous hair that looked natural and healthy.
