Back in Lansing, there was a small airstream camper that Thai lady named Maimai operated with her husband Mark. Unfortunately, they packed up a little over a year ago and moved to Florida leaving me in desperate search of a comparable Pad Thai. And this is where Manee Thai comes in! Every time I'm in Grand Blanc and driving by, I already know I'm going to have to stop on the way back home and order a "Hot" spice level Chicken (or shrimp) Pad Thai. It is always flavorful, fresh, and hot! I ordered the drunken noodles with the mild plus but it came with a little more heat than what I expected. It did have a nice mix of fresh flat noodles, vegetables, and plenty of chicken with a nice brown sauce I just had to add some coconut aminos to chill out the heat. I came quickly and the price was on point. Portions are great I eat it for three different meals. Ordered food for my friends and I. This place has gone down hill. We started eating and everything tasted funny. One friend said he couldn't poke his fork through the egg. He said his meal tasted like cleaner. Well come to find out the egg wasn't egg. It was a piece of paper towel!!! My friend almost threw up and I ran back up to complain. They said sorry and gave me a refund for the one meal. I said this place used to be good. She said yeah a lot of people are quitting and now the 70+ year old owners are cooking and they like to drink so they aren't the fastest. Initially, I was very confused when my GPS told me to turn into a gas station. I thought that it took me to the wrong place, but luckily it didn't! This thai restaurant is literally right next to the gas station convenience store. Upon entering, I noticed that it is a fairly small restaurant. Nothing special about the interior. The prices seem fair and isn't expensive. I called in ahead of time so I could pick up my order when I arrived. It got done a few minutes before I got there but the food was still steaming hot. I brought it home and inspected everything. I tried the Tom Yum soup first, and it was pretty good. It was savory and sour. The tomatoes were nice and juicy. You could see how each herb adds its flavors into the soup. I enjoyed it a lot The red curry was okay. It seemed a bit watered down, and the coconut milk wasn't very prominent in the dish. It lacked the creaminess as well as the umami that the red curry usually gives. Unfortunately it was quite bland compared to the other red curries I've had at thai restaurants Overall, I would probably come back but to try other dishes on their menu. The drunken noodles seem to be pretty popular, so I might try that next time. read more

First off, the food is good. The problem is the complete dysfunction between kitchen and the counter. Third time now I've waited an hour for food that was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes. While I waited, there were just two other orders, so not like they were slammed. The lady behind the counter made it clear that it wasn't her fault, and if I didn't want the food I should have said something earlier. She then blamed Doordash, other customers, basically anything else, just no apology. Then to top it off, the order wasn't complete...and when I pointed that out, you'd think I'd insulted her mother or something. By the time I got home, half the food was cold. This place is hit or miss for me. Sometimes its great, sometimes it isn't. The pad thai is good, but not the best I've had. The spring/egg rolls are terrible... Sorry not sorry. I have no idea how they could be so dry and flavorless. Last time I went the service was terrible. The ladies phone etiquette was horrible and she was even less pleasant in person. This is a little hidden gem in Burton. Love the chicken pad Thai and sweet and sour chicken - also their appetizers are on point!!

The pad thai was ok...at least the shrimp was fresh. Flavor was good but we ordered vegetable with added shrimp and there weren't much veggies...actually hardly any. This place is attached to a gas station so that says a lot right there. The tofu bites tasted like cardboard..I mean, I know tofu isn't exactly flavorful but these were crusted with a cardboard-like covering and fried to dryness.
