The flavor in the rice... unbelievable! This is exactly what I was hoping for, and I was very satisfied with my meal (and it was takeout!) The fried rice has a ton of flavor, and though being almost too salty, I was still satisfied with my meal, and have come back a few times since. Ordered take out and it was delicious! We went in hungry and an order of spring rolls, shrimp pad Thai, and yellow curry later and we were good as done. The portions were HUGE. Not bad! Much better than their Grand Blanc location, but this is not my go-to place for Thai food. A friend of mine lives nearby and wanted to grab lunch here, and I'm not about to shy away from trying it out! We came around 1:15pm and the place was empty. The space itself is quite small, with about 10-12 tables overall, but the inside is very colorful. Our waitress was cheery and upbeat and my friend and I quickly decided what to get and our orders were promptly taken. I went with the Red Curry with Chicken. The mixture consisted of mushrooms, green beans, bell peppers, and bamboo shoots. The sauce itself was definitely too sweet for me, and the consistency was on the watery side. I like my curries to have a little more heft and thickness, but it wasn't too bad to the point that the rice couldn't sop it up. For the lunch portion, $7.35 is a great price. They give you about 2 cups of white rice, and about a 1 1/2 cups worth of curry. It arrived piping hot out, and though I ordered medium spice, it was more along the lines of mild. Chicken slices were thin and not chewy, so that was nice. I would have liked to have more of it, but it's not too bad. Lot of food for me, so I took the majority of it home with me. My friend enjoyed her Thai Sweet and Sour Chicken dish (also $7.35). I didn't get a sample of it, but it definitely looked sweet! Perfect for her, but I'd probably not order it. Prior to our meal, they served a vegetable root soup that was comforting, but too salty. I'm glad that there was water! :) For a quick bite here, I think this place is good. It's nothing amazing, but it is safe. I'd come back, but next time, would definitely request some lime wedges to make my curry a bit more tart. read more

This is a very good Thai restaurant. If you like food spicy, I suggest you order "hot" the medium is rather mild in my estimation. My only negative note is the price. I only order at lunch and still find it expensive. Perhaps they could offer daily specials at a few dollars less? Fantastic Thai Food. The the Waite staff are always very friendly. Portions are very large. So if you like leftovers you can plan on having lunch for the next day! Also, the take out is always equally as hot and delicious. My one complaint: the hours open are a little tight. A lot of times we have driven there for a late dinner (between 8-10pm) only to find them closed. In Fenton, MI you would hardly expect to find any type of any type of food so I was quite pleased to walk into Bangkok Pepper and see a lovely young Thai woman running the show up front with her (white) husband slaving away in the kitchen :) While you can't even find the ingredients out here to create pure authenticity, they do a great job of dishing out your standard Thai eats and some unique dishes of their own. Thai food is so different state to state but if you're looking for something to eat this place is ok. I ordered the soup, egg roll and pad thai with chicken. The soup was really good, not too salty and perfect for a cold evening. Good flavor. The egg roll was fine, nothing about it stood out just a standard egg roll. The pad thai was good and if you like egg, you'll like this because it was quite egg-y. They could have gone for more traditional Thai flavor but chose not to. I had to doctor it up a bit. It's their most popular dish, not sure why...it was fairly bland. Service is mostly take out as evidenced by being the only one in during dinner rush. Been going to the one in Grand Blanc for years. We've been to the Fenton one several times since it opened. Disclaimer: I don't have much experience with Thai food, but a big fan of Chinese and Cantonese, and I like this place for a good change. Heat Warning: Pay attention to the descriptions on the menu.... I've talked to several people that really enjoy spicy food that can't take their hotter flavors. I stick with Medium which they describe as a "Gentle Burn" and that's exactly how I'd describe it. Good stuff. read more

I was very excited to find a Thai food place in Fenton, and a very good one at that! We decided to eat in on a Saturday night about an hour before close, and there were two other parties there too. It seems a lot of my customers order take out due to the limited seating and the walk up window, but who doesn't love take out?! They start out with a free chicken and rice soup if you order entree; it was good but tasted a bit like Campbell's. We each got the cheese rolls (like crab Rangoon without the crab, and in a egg roll shape) which were good but a bit doughy for me, as I prefer the crispy wonton style. The dipping sauce made up for it, nice vinegary tang to it. For our meals, my fiancé go the classic pad Thai but with tofu and it was delicious; HUGE portion! I picked the pineapple curry which also was a giant portion and super tasty and sweet how I like it - pineapple chunks, peppers, onion, carrots, and tofu in a coconut curry sauce. The tofu in both dishes was fried crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very tasty! We took our leftovers home and I had enough pad Thai for lunch and we split the rest of the curry for dinner! Can't wait to go back to try more items! read more
