In the produce section alone I found almost everything I was looking for (except for the ever-elusive fresh epazote leaves). In the wine section, we were looking for a bottle that we bought elsewhere (yes T&C also carries it) but the very friendly and extremely knowledgeable wine clerk Richard introduced us to Italian wines we'd never seen before. He did a great job at matching our palates to his descriptions of the wines he suggested.We bought several of his recommendations but I tell ya, Richard is enough to garner 5 stars for this star. Of course we bought other things but the find of the day was Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes. We've been looking for product like this every sense Costco stopped selling a similar product. None of the other stores where we shop carry this Bob's Red Mill product. We had a wonderful cashier named Ana who also contributes to the 5-star rating. She was sweet and upbeat, even sharing a bit of her life with us. My wife and I always enjoy when a cashier makes checkout an enjoyable visit instead of, well, just checkout. You know you've had a great checkout experience when you spend some sizeable bucks in a store and still leave in a great mood.

And in a move to save the jar I quickly moved my basket under the falling jar to catch it to stop it from breaking in the floor. Unfortunately, the quick motion of my basket caused a bottle of banana ketchup to be knocked off a lower shelf and break in the floor. Upon, checkout I was made to pay for the bottle that broke. Okay, I get it you're a small business and every penny counts, and I average over $100 of my grocery budget there every month. But from a customer service standpoint to make me pay for accidentally knocking a bottle to the floor? Sure you saved $2.69. But once again from a customer service pov, did you save $2.69 OR did you LOSE over $1200 a year in patronage, because I'm never coming back. The young tall Asian owner guy keeps a smile going behind his n95 mask, as does the delightful Scottish gal with whom I've yakked a zillion times but never learned her name. They are SO nice and friendly and I hope things keep going for them. It's mostly a "beverage store" but in these times, it's easy to "socially distance" and they remain as friendly as ever. My husband has been going into this store almost every day for the last few months to get his…read moreMonster and 5-Hour Energy drinks, mostly after his early morning shifts at UPS in Fife. In fact, he drives about 10 minutes past our house to give him business as we like to support our local stores. This morning, hubby bought 4 Monster drinks, has his usual pleasant exchange with the owner, then went back to the car to have one of the drinks explode. He went back into the store to let the owner know and ask to have it replaced. The manager immediately accused him of doing something to the product instead of replacing it in good faith or even telling him that they don't replace items. Naturally, this didn't settle well with my husband, who was going to simply buy a replacement and not go back in again. The owner was going to grudgingly give him the replacement, but his attitude was so irksome that he told the owner he wasn't going to be back again. At that point, the owner demanded that he hand the drink to him and refused to let him have it afterall, telling him he could have the one that burst. When he got back to the car, a second drink burst. It makes no good business sense to accuse a customer of damaging something intentionally to get a "free" one. What does he gain from doing that? It's not like he can consume a can of drink that's burst. Replacing defective product is the customary way that businesses show good faith to their customers, that we can trust them and continue to do business with them. We won't be giving him business any longer, and neither will our family. And you can bet that as with any other customer treated in this manner, we'll be telling this story to others. Do better. Don't be insulting on top of cheap. If you just had a bad day, everyone has them. Just apologize.
