    Complimentary Garlic Bread
    Dennis T.

Dining with Diane and my son and daughter-in-law, we began with Carciofo Alla Griglia, Mozzarella Marinara, and complimentary Garlic Bread, which was replenished once upon request, and without charge. The bread was light and addictive, as usual. And breaded batons of Mozzarella Marinara were superb with a mild Marinara Sauce draped over them. Only the artichokes were wanting, with little vegetative meat on the leaves. For me a piping hot bowl of Stracciatella, with egg yolk and spinach circling on top, was next, followed by a pretty good House Salad with Creamy Italian Dressing. And Sausage & Peppers nicely covered by a saucy Red Sauce, featuring small tubular hunks of mild sausage and bell peppers cooked al dente, nicely filled out my memorable repast. Others in my party very much liked their Lobster Ravioli with Alfredo Sauce, Beef Ravioli with Penne Pasta, and Veal Piccata with Bowtie Pasta. Service by Rachel C. was excellent. And we liked our table placement in a corner of the restaurant, which promoted private conversation. For me, Mangia Mangia remains the premier Italian restaurant in Huntington Beach. As it advertises, it truly serves authentic Italian cuisine.

My girlfriend ordered food from here for takeout and it was horrendous. The garlic bread was dry & old. The salad had leaves that weren't even green anymore. My Lasagna had one layer of noodles and the rest was cheese and cheap marinara. The spaghetti was some of the worst I've ever eaten. The soup was the only good thing we got lol. Threw out the leftovers because of how displeased we were. The cherry on top is they forget to give us utensils & napkins for takeout. I had to walk and ask a kind stranger in HB for utensils lol. 0/10

Julia was fantastic serving us... super attentive and got our garlic bread and refilled our drinks before we asked... like she had a sixth sense... it made our meal the best!!! Food 10/10, Service 20/10!!! Thanks Julia for making our birthday dinner special

Tried two new dishes today. One of their seafood pasta with white wine sauce, and not the traditional red, and their Seabass on their special. Comes with the side salad. The food is excellent as always, and Service is top-notch. I love that they give us unlimited garlic bread to consume while we're eating more pasta. This is gluten heaven. The decor reminds me a little bit of a little Italy shop as I just went there last year and thoroughly enjoy the people here they always greet us cause they recognize us for coming so often. Always recommend recommended!

My toddler wanted to go to a fancy dinner and asked for pasta. After a quick yelp search, mangia mangia came up and seemed like a great option. Upon walking in, it was really cute and a fun environment. We were seating pretty quickly. They were so patient with my three year old, which I really appreciate. The garlic bread was outstanding. I had to make myself stop eating it. After some recommendations, I ordered the penne guiliana and customized a simple pasta with broccoli for my little one. My pasta was incredible. The portion was great as well! I left happy and had leftovers. Win win! I will definitely be back!

Came here with some friends. One of them recommended this place. We were early and didn't need a reservation. There were a few tables taken already but we got seated right away with 6 of us. Our waiter was really nice and pointed to the specials board facing us. They said the lasagna was supposed to be a favorite so I ordered that. The servings here are pretty big. The lasagna looked great but it wasn't that flavorful. The sauce tasted plain. It was just ok. They brought us bread with was yummy garlic bread. I love soup so I got a cup of their minestrone but it was also lacking in flavor, very disappointed. I was eyeing the risotto and one of my friends got it. That was the best dish here. Big portions but everything lacked good flavor. I am not sure since the clientele is mostly older people. That shouldn't matter really. My wife got the manicotti and she sent it back. No flavor. Oh well least we tried the place Oh I forgot that I had the spamoni . It was unique being chocolate covered like an Easter egg but it tasted like Neopolitan than the pistachio flavor it should have.

This place was fine, food was ok, I got the veal parm, it wasn't the best but still fine. Their dinner salad was fresh but the garlic bread was the best part for me. Not great but not a bad place to go to.

Been coming to mangia mangia almost 20 years now and mangia mangia is hands down still my favorite Italian restaurant. Always great service, consistent and delicious food. My favorite and go to order are the risotto with sausage, fettuccine gabriella with sausage, and if I feel seafood then definitely the linguine frutti de mare. The entrees are also amazing, it comes with salad and pasta, for the entree can't go wrong with any of the veals or chicken. i especially love the veal parmigiana and the chicken Calabrese. to be honest you can't go wrong with any of the dishes here. Be sure to add the sausage into all your dishes, game changer.

    GARLIC BREAD!!!

This is hands down my current favorite Italian spot. Firstly, GARLIC BREAD GARLIC BREAD GARLIC BREAD!!! Their complimentary garlic bread is by far the BEST I've ever had. I regularly crave this garlic bread and will come in just because I miss it. But secondly, their pastas and all their dishes are top notch quality ALWAYS. Locally owned, this spot takes Italian food to the next level. I got the calamari and risotto. Their calamari is super crispy and flavorful. And their risotto is my personal favorite. It's sweet, flavorful, fresh, and the perfect texture. Always thankful for Mangia Mangia... if you haven't tried this place, you MUST!

Everything I tried here was SO GOOD! The veal and chicken I tried was so tender. The pastas are cooked perfectly al dente and the sauces are perfectly seasoned. The portions are huge, be prepared to take home leftovers. Everyone in the group was raving about their individual entrees. We all shared the ricotta cheesecake, which is so light and fluffy. Service here is exceptional, all the staff are very friendly. The store is relatively small, so it can get packed during rush hour, but definitely worth the wait!

Our server had zero personality, seemed completely disengaged, and was short with us every time they came to the table no warmth, no attentiveness, nothing that made us feel welcome. The food was just as bad. It came out bland, flavorless, and lukewarm, as if it had been sitting around before someone finally brought it over. To top it off, the dish was poorly portioned barely any meat sauce for a plate piled with noodles. For a restaurant that should have these basics down, it was a real letdown. What bothered me most came the next day. I called to speak with the manager, hoping for some accountability, and instead got brushed off. His only response was that he'd "talk to the server and chef about timing" a vague, dismissive answer that ignored every issue I raised. It was almost laughable how obviously he was trying to rush me off the phone. No apology, no real interest in fixing anything, no understanding of how customer service is supposed to work. A bad meal is forgivable. A manager who doesn't care is the reason I won't be back.

After our visit, we wanted to pick a nice place to eat dinner, and because my kiddo said she wanted pesto, I went to faithful Yelp to look for a new Italian spot to check out. I will admit that I was a bit hesitant to try Buon Gusto out at first, not being from or too familiar with the area, and then there was the wait, but I am so glad we held our spot in line for a table. We were sat in the line of view of those who are waiting to be seated. I thought this would make me uncomfortable at first, but I hardly noticed them. Our server John was super friendly and attentive, very personable. One of the owners that we talked to also was social with us when I asked him about his restaurant and the influence for the menu items. I did not get his name, but he let me know he has Greek and Italian roots, which makes sense seeing that there are a lot of Greek/Mediterranean items on the menu as well. I believe he said his Italian ancestry is from Sicily, which was nostalgic for me because Sicily was one of my favorite weekend trips back when I spent a summer in Italy. Anyway, on to the food. I ordered the Penne Marco Polo which came with a delicious cream sauce and served with shrimp, broccoli, mushrooms and artichokes mixed in. It was one of the best pastas I have ever had! My mom ordered the chicken piccata - it was good, but she did have a complaint. Her plate arrived drowned in the wine sauce. I do not think it was supposed to be that wet. My daughter ordered the kids fettuccini, and our server was able to modify it so that it would come with pesto instead of the alfredo or pomodoro sauce. My mom and I each enjoyed a glass of the sauvignon blanc with our meal; thank you for the wine rec, John! I would definitely return if meeting friends in the area.

Daughter's shared linguine and clams. They really enjoyed it. Waiter brought it out already in separate plates, which was nice. They are both usually picky eaters. One finished and the other almost finished their portion. Wife and son both ordered lasagna. They both really liked it. Wife said it was very fresh. The tomato sauce wasn't thick meaty, sloppy and overpowering, but light fresh and not too sweet. It was definitely a healthy portion of lasagna. Wifey ate over 1//2, and my son usually finishes his plates, but couldn't finish the lasagna. I had the seafood linguine. I can't eat tomatoes, so requested the sauce to be changed from tomato to the wine sauce. They were able to accommodate. Fresh pasta and seafood. I ate everything on the plate, and soaked up the sauce with the warm bread that was served upon request. Now the desserts. We had two of each of the canolis, and tiramisu. Wifey said one of them didn't taste freshly/ home made, but forgot which one. That was the only negative I have. However we did eat all of them, sooo.... Ambiance nice candle lit type atmosphere.
