Oh man! The best Dominican food in the area. I miss having them right down the street in their food truck but I still love that they can cater for small parties. The food is always spot on, seasoning, texture, smells always top notch. I've been eating their food since I moved to Silver spring now for 3 years. We hired Mangu Delight for our daughter's graduation party. The food was delicious and authentic and had many compliments from our guests. I gave it 4 stars only because the delivery cut it very close to party start time which really stressed me out because I like being prepared, and it was very expensive compared to other catering quotes we got but we really wanted authentic Dominican since my husbands family is Dominican. But I would use them again. Hector and his wife are very nice and really want to make sure the food was enough and delicious. The cake was beautiful and the flan was out of this world delicious. Update to response to Mangu Delight: this should have been discussed privately but since you put it publicly, I will say my opinion I omitted in my public review. I think setup and unboxing should be part of your fee as there is an 8 percent service fee and the price is so much higher than other catering services I inquired.. As for the complimentary ensalada rusa, it was nice however, I was not told and we had already asked two Tias to make it so we had an absurd amount of it. If you can find three nicer people in the world who work together I'd be impressed. Super hard working and smiling and friendly the whole time. Also...the food is pretty dang good too. We tried several of the empanadas and they were through the roof tasty (make sure to keep them flat in the bag though or all the good stuff goes to one side). I was completely shocked by the peperoni and cheese empanada. Whoa!!! We also tried the Chimi burger which was a bit over handled/cooked but the sauce and fixings that came with it were both good. I may ask for it to be cooked just a little less than normal next time. Also...you should probably call ahead with your order so that you don't end up waiting too long at the gas station. I cannot remember how I heard about this place...wait a minute, I remember now - it was through Patrick Herron's MoCo IG post - he had posted 4 pictures of their food back in September 2020 and I instantly saved it and shared it with a friend of mine. Today, I wanted to get something (gathering with a few folks) and thought of this place. It is located right off of New Hampshire Avenue before the ICC exit (in the gas station) - look for a Food Truck. I pulled in and parked. Noticed that there were a few benches available for folks to sit on (good to know). The menu was on the outside of the truck, but there were no prices listed - I still ordered anyways. You could choose from: CHMI -- Beef, Chicken or Dominican Burger. Carnes (Meat) - Stewed Chicken, BBQ Pork Ribs, Grilled Chicken or Fried Chicken. Arroz (Rice) - Rice w/Beans, White Rice, Stewed Beans or Yellow Plantain. Empanadas - Chicken, Beef, Ham and Cheese, Pork and Cheese or just Cheese. Fritura (Fried Food) - Tostones, Longaniza, Salami, Chicharron, Fried Chicken or Yuca. Jugos / Frescos (Juices? - I only know a little Spanish) - Lime, Guava, Lime with Melon or Papaya. There is a little wooden step by the truck and you can step on it and the Owner will show you what he has available. On this visit, I decided to order some Rice and Beans, Stewed Chicken, Yuca (at his suggestion) and a Guava drink. I also ordered 3 Empanadas - 1 beef and 2 chicken. When I was able to eat this food, it was so good and so delicious (perfect temperature). I did not realize the Empanadas were huge until I got home - got some sauces to go with it. I have only tried the beef empanada - it did not last long as I devoured it. I am looking forward to trying some more items on a future visit. If you have not tried this spot out as yet, you should...whenever you get a chance. I ordered food for a party for my husband and it was great. Everyone went back for at least seconds and complimented the rice, the chicken which was so tender, and chicken empanadas. The tres leches cake was really beautiful and tasted great too. They came and set up about an hour before the party so that took all the stress off of me. My husband Luis is half Dominican and with family in another state and back on the island, we treasure finding Dominican food near us. Good Dominican food at that! We've ordered via Uber Eats and also picked up at the truck location. Everything here is delicious and authentic like you would find in someone's kitchen on the island. I was so excited when Mangú Delight popped up on my UberEats app. ¿Quequeeeeé? A Dominican joint so close? Got to give it a try! To my disappointment, I saw no actual Mangú on the menu. I would love some with a little of the salsita del pollo guisado por encima...yum yum! Anyway...I ordered their frituras for 2, and they were great!!! I can feed four out of that tray, so it's a great deal. The tostones were on point and well seasoned, and the longaniza and salami were very tasty. I added the queso and it went fast. I really love the regular food like the rice, beans and whatever protein but the honey mustard sauce is TERRIBLE. Maybe because I'm Dominican and I'm use to the standard mayo/ketchup combo but I really wish they gave customers a choice between the two sauces. I personally find that honey mustard is for specific tastes and I really did not appreciate it in my Chimi, it made the otherwise savory sandwich into an almost dessert like taste.
