If you can find three nicer people in the world who work together I'd be impressed. Super hard working and smiling and friendly the whole time. Also...the food is pretty dang good too. We tried several of the empanadas and they were through the roof tasty (make sure to keep them flat in the bag though or all the good stuff goes to one side). I was completely shocked by the peperoni and cheese empanada. Whoa!!! We also tried the Chimi burger which was a bit over handled/cooked but the sauce and fixings that came with it were both good. I may ask for it to be cooked just a little less than normal next time. Also...you should probably call ahead with your order so that you don't end up waiting too long at the gas station. The regulars seemed to all know this trick...and now you know too. Enjoy!

I cannot remember how I heard about this place...wait a minute, I remember now - it was through Patrick Herron's MoCo IG post - he had posted 4 pictures of their food back in September 2020 and I instantly saved it and shared it with a friend of mine. Today, I wanted to get something (gathering with a few folks) and thought of this place. It is located right off of New Hampshire Avenue before the ICC exit (in the gas station) - look for a Food Truck. I pulled in and parked. Noticed that there were a few benches available for folks to sit on (good to know). The menu was on the outside of the truck, but there were no prices listed - I still ordered anyways. You could choose from: CHMI -- Beef, Chicken or Dominican Burger. Carnes (Meat) - Stewed Chicken, BBQ Pork Ribs, Grilled Chicken or Fried Chicken. Arroz (Rice) - Rice w/Beans, White Rice, Stewed Beans or Yellow Plantain. Empanadas - Chicken, Beef, Ham and Cheese, Pork and Cheese or just Cheese. Fritura (Fried Food) - Tostones, Longaniza, Salami, Chicharron, Fried Chicken or Yuca. Jugos / Frescos (Juices? - I only know a little Spanish) - Lime, Guava, Lime with Melon or Papaya. There is a little wooden step by the truck and you can step on it and the Owner will show you what he has available. On this visit, I decided to order some Rice and Beans, Stewed Chicken, Yuca (at his suggestion) and a Guava drink. I also ordered 3 Empanadas - 1 beef and 2 chicken. When I was able to eat this food, it was so good and so delicious (perfect temperature). I did not realize the Empanadas were huge until I got home - got some sauces to go with it. I have only tried the beef empanada - it did not last long as I devoured it. I am looking forward to trying some more items on a future visit. If you have not tried this spot out as yet, you should...whenever you get a chance. To add, it is helpful if you have Venmo or the Cash App to pay for your meal, but if you do not, you can pay either cash or a credit card.

Discovery of Dominican home cookin' close by us? Score! To our "Delight" we've found this amazing spot. My husband Luis is half Dominican and with family in another state and back on the island, we treasure finding Dominican food near us. Good Dominican food at that! We've ordered via Uber Eats and also picked up at the truck location. Everything here is delicious and authentic like you would find in someone's kitchen on the island. We've tried several items, all delicious and the standouts were the empanadas (with that special sauce!), pollo guisado, bacalao, beef ribs, white rice and beans (the beans are so flavorful!), and the morirsoñando! Honestly, everything here is bussin'! I'm sure it'll get to the point we've tried almost everything on their menu. Highly recommend! Thankful we found Mangú Delight!

Yes...yes yes, this is the spot! Mr. Mangu Delight knows chiccharron. Two orders of unchidness, crispy, fatty goodness. One I'll freeze for later...NOT. i also bought two patties, that means I'll have to do a double workout...one was demolished. Take the wheel, 2 side orders of chiccharron, 2 beef patties & an order of bread pudding...smh. Do I need to have an i intervention? It was all homemade, hot & seasoned with Dominican love. Ooh wee...

Shrimp Empanada. The flavors are so... HAPPY!

The shrimp empanada was the highlight of my Mangú Delight experience. I also had the classic combo -pollo guisado y morro con maduros. Everything was fresh and on point! The juices are excellent. You can tell they really love what they do and they keep getting better. This food truck can easily become a weekly habit, because a couple days later... i had a beef chimi lol

Higuey, Santo Domingo, all of the Dominican stand up! This food truck is serving scrumptious food! It's almost like I was transported back to the island. This is a type of spot a local would send you to in the DR. Customer service was attentive. I ordered the Pollo Guisado Combo Plate and a chicken empanada. The chicken empanada was flavorful and a good size. The chicken combo plate comes with the Dominican specialty stewed chicken, rice, beans and plantains. The portion size was plentiful. The stewed chicken was moist and tender. Rice and beans were good! I wolfed it all down. The plantains were the homemade chopped in the back ones. Excellent. Excellent. Excellente. What are you waiting on? Treat yourself!

    Chicken chimi with morir soñando!

The food at this food truck is fantastic and very authentic!! I have been here a few times and I keep going back for more. I highly recommend it. The food is very affordable and during Covid, I have witnessed them wearing masks and gloves while cooking and serving food. I am in love with the empanadas, chimi's, and don't get me started with the morir soñando. Oh, let's not forget about their combined plates. Yum! Nothing but delicious food. Must visit and I cannot wait to go back.

Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.

They were super accommodating and attentive to any concerns I had as a bride. Our account manager Marcie was wonderful, taking detailed notes on everything (we communicated with her up until 2 weeks out from the date) and responding to my million and one questions, with a quick response time via email or call. Since we did a grand arrival by private charter, they even let us do a dry run ahead to practice docking and were super patient in waiting for us. 2 weeks out we were assigned our catering manager for the day of- Veronica is the best!! Responsive to texts and emails at any time of day (and unlike most venues where the catering manager is only concerned with ensuring the venue fulfills their contractual obligations), she and her staff showed up, worked with our day of coordinator, and played a huge role in ensuring the day went as flawlessly as it did! The salad was fine nicely dressed and tasty. The meal was cold, but you almost expect that for wedding caterers. The crabcake could have been great except there was no Old Bay seasoning available. Still haven't been offered a soft drink, guess I'll have to get that myself. The silk napkin, though fancy keeps falling off our laps. The venue, is impressive with the view of the bay but alas the parking is ridiculous as in you have to stack and pack the cars, so that will be fun when everyone leaves. Wedding cake was okay. Overall could have earned a 3 to 4 except for the lack of adaptability.

Even on zoom, my family and I were trying to figure out the ingredients. It was delicious. The chicken soup had large pieces of chicken and carrots. They gave us a large number of matzah balls for the soup too. The chocolate torte was fabulous. I couldn't help from licking the knife as I portioned it out for my family. I'd totally be fine with a nice prime rib one year... but you have to have brisket. Your meal also must include no leavaners... rising agents... yeast... anything like that. Then you have to have *Charoset (basically an apple and nut salad) *Horseradish *It'd be weird to not have gefilte fish *100 other things Basically it's a pain in the neck. So just the thought of trying to shop and get all of these things in the current climate was mind numbing. La Prima Catering to the rescue! Luckily I am part of a group where local restaurants and food services are posting info and I caught wind that La Prima was taking last minute orders for Passover. The price was right, the meal sounded delicious, and the woman Karla even reached out to me after I asked a question on the message board. It was clear she was responsive. Let me tell you! They really killed it, to be honest. Everything we got was fantastic. The brisket was super tender and they included a TON of extra gravy like my mother had asked for. The matzo ball soup was quite good with tons of fresh hand shredded chicken pieces. The tzimmes (which I had never had before) was indulgent with a rich depth of sweetness that in itself deserves 5 stars. The meal also included charoset (I prefer mine with a little more wine flavor). And the flourless chocolate cake which was chocolate decadence in every way shape and form. It was rich, and chocolatey, and it was honestly a mousse like consistency which I didn't mind one bit. It was the perfect finish. Me and my fam did our first virtual Passover like many of us around the nation and it went really well. I might honestly lobby for us to just order from La Prima next year to save one of us the hassle. I would be totally fine making like one thing (maybe a potato kugel) and getting the rest from La Prima. It was that good. Thank you La Prima. Thank you for saving our Passover. Thank you for dealing with my Jewish mother (she's the one that ordered). And thank you for putting a lot of love into that food you sent. It really made our holiday.
