The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of flavorful options that truly pleased the crowd. The presentation and overall setup were beautiful and added an elegant touch to the event. Chef Darryl was professional, organized, and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. The pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered a wonderful tasting prior to signing the contract, which gave us great confidence in our decision. I highly recommend A Family Affair Catering for any special occasion.

Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.

As the event coordinator, I appreciated that Ceecho, Donal, and Johnny checked in with me throughout the event, quickly adjusted to the schedule changes, and were efficient and helpful throughout the set up and tear down process. I highly recommend Saint Germain for our next catered function in DC! We will be a repeat customer for sure!

Their menu is expansive and can accommodate all types of dietary restrictions--we had dairy free, vegan, pollotarian, and gluten free folks, and they all enjoyed the food. Set up and tear down were efficient, and the staff was so friendly, polite, and professional! And the food! I over ordered, so the whole library staff got to eat, too. Everyone raved about the buffets (we did a "cookout" style, a "fajita bar" style, and we had breakfast for three days). Everything was cooked well and seasoned well! The fresh fruit was delicious! Can I recommend them any more than I have? If I'm ever in the DC/DMV area again for an event, I will definitely give them a call.

She patiently answered all of my questions and made sure my order was correct. I have never ordered from a catering service and I was nervous! I was so impressed that I am doing the happy dance. The brisket was tasty and they even sent over extra gravy for the brisket. The sweet potato and carrot side dish was mouth watering. Even on zoom, my family and I were trying to figure out the ingredients. It was delicious. The chicken soup had large pieces of chicken and carrots. They gave us a large number of matzah balls for the soup too. The chocolate torte was fabulous. I couldn't help from licking the knife as I portioned it out for my family. The delivery was excellent and the delivery person was wearing gloves and a mask. We were missing one item and I called Karla, she had someone deliver it within minutes. The portions were plentiful for 10 people and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend La Prima catering and I won't hesitate to order from them again. Thank you for saving our holiday celebration!

I'd totally be fine with a nice prime rib one year... but you have to have brisket. Your meal also must include no leavaners... rising agents... yeast... anything like that. Then you have to have *Charoset (basically an apple and nut salad) *Horseradish *It'd be weird to not have gefilte fish *100 other things Basically it's a pain in the neck. So just the thought of trying to shop and get all of these things in the current climate was mind numbing. La Prima Catering to the rescue! Luckily I am part of a group where local restaurants and food services are posting info and I caught wind that La Prima was taking last minute orders for Passover. The price was right, the meal sounded delicious, and the woman Karla even reached out to me after I asked a question on the message board. It was clear she was responsive. Let me tell you! They really killed it, to be honest. Everything we got was fantastic. The brisket was super tender and they included a TON of extra gravy like my mother had asked for. The matzo ball soup was quite good with tons of fresh hand shredded chicken pieces. The tzimmes (which I had never had before) was indulgent with a rich depth of sweetness that in itself deserves 5 stars. The meal also included charoset (I prefer mine with a little more wine flavor). And the flourless chocolate cake which was chocolate decadence in every way shape and form. It was rich, and chocolatey, and it was honestly a mousse like consistency which I didn't mind one bit. It was the perfect finish. Me and my fam did our first virtual Passover like many of us around the nation and it went really well. I might honestly lobby for us to just order from La Prima next year to save one of us the hassle. I would be totally fine making like one thing (maybe a potato kugel) and getting the rest from La Prima. It was that good. Thank you La Prima. Thank you for saving our Passover. Thank you for dealing with my Jewish mother (she's the one that ordered). And thank you for putting a lot of love into that food you sent. It really made our holiday.

To start, I reached out to Chef Bernard based on the Yelp reviews to see if he could prepare a romantic dinner for my husband and I on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was available and agreed to serve us. From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. Cheese blintzes wi/ a strawberry wine sauce 8. Crab cakes Everything was perfect! He served us well and we could not have asked for a better experience. We are looking forward to more dinner parties with him in our home. If you are looking for a chef to help you make a memorable event, Chef Bernard is your answer. He also prepares weekly meals for you or your family. My husband really enjoyed the food and he is still raving about it. We tried items we typically would never try in a restaurant. We loved it and we are true fans!

The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. We look forward to ordering each week!

I reached out via the request form on the business website and received a phone call within 24 hours of submitting my request. Chef Jennie B was genuinely interested in creating a one of a kind menu for my celebration and provided insightful recommendations to keep my menu cohesive and unique. The business even offers serving-ware purchase options. Truly a quality, one-stop-shop catering experience. Leading up to my housewarming, Chef Jennie B communicated regularly to confirm my menu selections, confirm intended number of guests and dietary restrictions, and schedule a time for delivery. When delivering, Chef Jennie B and her team were communicative, professional, and friendly (it was my first time hosting a large group in my space and I had lots of questions about set-up, reheating, serving, etc). I'd also like to compliment the business's pricing and invoicing process. Pricing was discussed thoroughly and I was never once pressured to make decisions that would compromise my budget. Invoicing and payment were completed seamlessly online via a secured website. My receipt was provided immediately for my record. Most importantly, the food was absolutely amazing! Months later, My guests still ask about the mac and cheese balls, chicken kabobs, and vegan stuffed mushrooms. Overall: This is a local, woman-owned business I will gladly work with for any occasion. I have proudly recommended Chef Jennie B to anyone who asks.
