He's also a consultant with Catering by Uptown. And I knew this. But what I didn't know was that our paths would cross again - especially not this quickly. The venue he is connected with via Uptown is more of what my daughter wants for her wedding day. And so far - we, Jeff and I, are getting along swimmingly. Not that we didn't before - I just felt he lacked the proper level of professionalism after we declined his services. I do believe we have something here. Booked the Bayfront Club as our wedding venue since we wanted a waterfront ceremony with a gorgeous view. Love that it's a family run business. the owner Ray and his son Joseph were fantastic- I toured most of their venues with them. They were super accommodating and attentive to any concerns I had as a bride. Our account manager Marcie was wonderful, taking detailed notes on everything (we communicated with her up until 2 weeks out from the date) and responding to my million and one questions, with a quick response time via email or call. Since we did a grand arrival by private charter, they even let us do a dry run ahead to practice docking and were super patient in waiting for us. 2 weeks out we were assigned our catering manager for the day of- Veronica is the best!! Responsive to texts and emails at any time of day (and unlike most venues where the catering manager is only concerned with ensuring the venue fulfills their contractual obligations), she and her staff showed up, worked with our day of coordinator, and played a huge role in ensuring the day went as flawlessly as it did! The day of, Veronica arrived at the venue early in case any of the production crew arrived early. She checked on us throughout the night, and you could tell she genuinely was excited for us and loves what she does! They truly went above and beyond. Couldn't have asked for a better team. Brides if you're heavily involved in planning the details of your wedding and looking for a hassle free experience, highly recommend booking one of CBU's venues. Not very flexible in the seating arrangements. Messed up the table settings, so here I sit with no silverware or place setting. I am borrowing parts from other people. I have no glassware or even a napkin. I'll never hire them for just this reason alone. They are unable to adapt. The food was a small salad, chicken and crabcake, with asparagus and potatoes. The salad was fine nicely dressed and tasty. The meal was cold, but you almost expect that for wedding caterers. The crabcake could have been great except there was no Old Bay seasoning available. Still haven't been offered a soft drink, guess I'll have to get that myself. The silk napkin, though fancy keeps falling off our laps. The venue, is impressive with the view of the bay but alas the parking is ridiculous as in you have to stack and pack the cars, so that will be fun when everyone leaves. Wedding cake was okay. With COVID-19, they have been unresponsive and less than willing to work with our venue, charging us more for less people and offering 0 refunds for cancellations. They have been rude, absolutely horrendous to work with and more than unhelpful. As a bride trying to get married in this climate, every single other vendor I work with has been kind and helpful. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Catering By Uptown. Even during the pandemic which I know was just as hard for them as it was for us. We decided to move our original May wedding date to September. Our venue was no longer available for that day, but our second choice venue was, and it was beautiful, so we were thankful for that. As it got closer and closer to our new September date, rules were constantly changing (masks, head counts, etc) it was getting closer to our final payment being due. When we weren't sure what we wanted to do yet, they did give us an extension both times to make sure we thought it over. We decided not to have a big wedding anymore as it just was not fully what we wanted with all the COVID restrictions put in place. So we did not get our original deposit back, which I completely understand because even if something else happened and it wasn't a pandemic and we ended up not having the wedding, that deposit is non refundable. We asked if we could do just a small ceremony on that day since we already had it booked for the big wedding and they said yes! We did end up having to do it earlier in the day (our original wedding was supposed to be at 6 PM and our small ceremony ended up being at 1 PM) but it was beautiful. They even made us a little cake to either cut there or take home!! It was really amazing of them to do that for us. Our wedding coordinator Cassidy was wonderful!! She answered the millions of questions I had an any given moment lol. So even though it was not the wedding that we had originally planned, they were able to work with us to provide us with a beautiful small intimate wedding ceremony. I want to start by saying I planned to use their services however my now husband and I decided to postpone our wedding. Before postponing our contact person changed and she never contacted to even introduce herself. Moving on, At the time when I contacted them, I was told that I had a year to rebook. Ok fine. At no point was I told that there was a $2k change date fee that is taken out of the deposit. Now a year later when I am attempting to utilize their services and the almost $6k that I already paid I'm getting the runaround. They are non responsive over email. I have requested a call multiple times to no avail. I have not spoken to anyone over the phone since the end of August. My year rebook deadline was Oct 7th. It's now November and this is still not resolved. I'm now also being told that they have no way to refund monies. With a company who takes money there had to be an account that things are paid out from correct?I'm being told they have "other clients and stakeholder to think about " not sure what that has to do with me or my situation! I contacted them 3 times (once by email and twice by phone) before anyone called me back. I was given very minimal information, but was asked for a budget and number of people and two days later, I got a quote. Since other catering companies quoted us less and because I noticed we had the options of serving crab cakes and filet mignon in the quote we had received, I wrote back and asked whether there was any flexibility in setting the menu in order to reduce the cost (note: I was not asking to keep the same menu for a cheaper price, I was inquiring whether there was any flexibility to personalize the menu). Here is the word-for-word email I received in response from Ashley: "I talked with my boss and he said the amount that I had given you was the best we could do." When I emailed back to ask for more information about what goes into the price and how their catering model works (because I was foolishly still hopeful they would work out), I received no response. I pretty quickly got over it and moved along to Catering by Seasons, who were attentive and very happy to work with us to create a personalized menu and answer any questions we had (and we had a beautiful wedding thanks to them!). We ended up paying a similar rate to what we were quoted by Catering by Uptown, but felt so much better about it because they actually acted as though they cared. I guess take-home point: If you don't care about any sort of personalized attention or professionalism, this catering company is fine. But if you do, you can certainly do better. Just had one of the worst experiences of my life. We had our wedding at the Waverly mansion and it was a total disaster. The only things that went right were things that we took care of like the entertainment. Our wedding coordinator Katelyn, who only recently started working for the company, despite numerous verbal assurances that she would be there for every little detail, the day of was no where to be found half of the time and had an attitude right as we arrived about "it not being her job to herd guests to the ceremony, that's what the signs are for." Yes, I think it was your job and I also think it was Uptown by Catering's job to assure the safety of the guests of the wedding. Although apparently according to Rob, one of the owners, response, it is not this company's responsibility to provide security for their guests and their vehicles. All of our gift money from guests, thousands of dollars, was stolen from our vehicles while we were celebrating. This happened before 9 and I was not notified until after 11 once all of the money had already been taken. Our car was right in the front of the parking lot and had ANY security (lights, cameras, or a PERSON if you can't add those things to the property as you claim) been present then this incident would never have happened. The doors WERE locked, the key was placed on the wheel well for the best man to return to the car shortly and would have been a perfectly fine hiding place had our car not been under surveillance by SOMEONE when the key was placed there. That's why there was no sign of forced entry. And as to the license plate of the suspicious vehicle, it WAS reported by our guest who saw it as a temporary tag. There should have been some kind of security lights (there was one orange light across the street) cameras, or a security person and there was nothing. Then staff members were overheard by guests saying "the checks are in the car." Although they of course claimed no knowledge of anything when we discovered the robbery. This is NOT libel as it was an observation by OUR guest whose husband was also in attendance who is a DC police officer. His first thought was due to the circumstances and this conversation overheard by his wife, that this was an inside job. Of course nothing can be proven as all staff members claimed innocence. I'm not even going to mention the numerous other small things (the groomsmen not getting their boutineers and the music completely stopping during the dinner and I had to search, again, for Katelyn to help, bartender disappearing numerous times so my guests had to serve themselves, the gift basket where money was also located being placed outside of the tent where we couldn't see it, I could go on) As to the implied threat of libel, please Rob, nothing I am saying is not verifiable. You asked me to pull down reviews until the insurance investigation was over, which I did. But now the truth will be told because other potential clients have the right to know how your company and you conduct yourselves. They will say whatever you want to hear to get you to book and then once they have your money your concerns do not matter. (Look at other reviews on this point if you don't believe me) Don't make the mistake I did and trust this company with over $10,000 of your money when there are so many other venues, Ceresville Mansion and Antrim 1844 to name a few, that are just as lovely as Waverly and ARE NOT run by this company. I fell in love with this venue two years ago and just recently got married in mid-October 2020. I guess since COVID, their quality assurance went downhill. First of all, everything mostly went smoothly thanks to my DJ, Maid of Honor, and me. I was EXTREMELY disappointed to have been married and go out to the pier to take photos... WITH BIRD POOP ALL OVER THE DECK! I am talking a massive amount that any venue who knew a wedding was coming would power-wash. This was unacceptable!! THEN I go inside, have my first dance, and as I am watching my husband dance with his mother, the coordinator (Vicky) decides to tell me that there are more people than expected in the venue. She says she only thought 100 were coming and I can easily prove on my final paperwork AND from our discussion that I had 109. Even after she apparently went to my parents and told them, they told her NOT to tell me, she did anyway. WHY WOULD YOU TELL THE BRIDE OF ANY PROBLEMS THE DAY OF HER WEDDING!!?? Especially during the first dances.... again, unacceptable. Then at the end of the night, she is asking me about cleaning everything up, getting the vases, etc... I am not in charge of that, I am the bride and I am leaving with my husband during my send-off! I loved my wedding day because of my own vendors... not because of them. They said I would have a person to make sure I was fed & had drinks and that only happened in the beginning of the reception. The turn around of the room was the allotted time they said it would take so the whole day ran smoothly and on time. I had my wedding at Celebrations at the Bay back in 5/2018 one of there venue that they have catering through. I would say the venue in itself was beautiful and the day coordinator Eileen was wonderful. She was a great help and attended to us like Family. The Food is Great! As far as the Catering by Uptown I feel they nickle and dime you at the very end. We wanted top Shelf premium bar at the wedding and when we looked at the list what is considered top shelf was not on the list. So we had to tell them how many bottles of what we wanted and pay per bottle plus service and tax fee. They also wanted to charge us to have our rehearsal there for 1 hr from $300-500 pending the time of day which does not include service fee and taxes. They fail to tell you at the very beginning all the details that needs to be paid at the end includes services fee and tax fee on everything. The amount of money that one spends on that day the least they can do is include the 1 hr rehearsal fee for free. By the way rehearsal can be done Monday - Thursday only!. One more thing keep in mind that you need to feed your vendors as well and that is due at the final payment and guess what that also includes a service and tax fee. So beware before you sign on that dotted line, make sure they explain to you all the extra be that will be need to be paid. read more

Please AVOID dealing with these people...they are THIEVES! We hired them to cater our Christmas party back in December....and paid them up front the sum of $5,100.00 a few days before our event. (Mind you, we had already rented a venue, hired an LA musician, reserved a casino event company and had our invitations sent out). Wouldn't you know, the weather forecast is calling for snow. Great. Not only does everyone start to overreact and fear an ice storm is on the way, the owner Rob comes to my place of business THE DAY BEFORE our event and tries to get us to cancel...even threatening to keep our money if we didn't. He made up some BS story that he would have to put up the employees in RV's at the venue so they wouldn't risk driving in the snow, and it would be at his expense. Ha. What a crock. (I actually drove by the venue THAT EVENING and saw NO RV's anywhere....liar) I said, fine, we are still not cancelling. He was such a rude and pompous a$$ at this point, obviously annoyed that we were going to make him work in the snow. We all got the feeling he made absolutely NO preparations for our event and he knew all along he wasn't going to do it. We also feel they are in cahoots with the venue (Newton White Mansion) as they are on their preferred caterers list. To make a long story short, the Newton White Mansion emailed me the next morning, the day of our event, to say they were cancelling our party due to weather (WHICH WASN'T EVEN BAD!!!!). How convenient. So now it left us in a bad situation, as our musician was already on his flight, everyone RSVP'd that they were coming and now the venue and caterer cancel on us! Talking to them both was very upsetting, as neither one of them showed any bit of compassion to our plight, and basically had an F-you attitude. I would NEVER, EVER recommend doing business with these people. EVER! VERY UNETHICAL. If they were an honorable, decent business, they would have refunded us 100% due to circumstances...but I guess they are hard up for money, so they had to steal ours. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE PENNY OF OUR $5,100.00!!! Funny thing, when I was returning all of the liquor I purchased for the bar back to Costco, the lady asked why, I told her what Catering by Uptown did, and she said she heard the same thing about them, that they were a 'bad company'...I will continue to spread the word about these shysters. If I could give them zero stars, I would! Karma is coming.... (Oh, we ended up having our party at the Old Bowie Town Grill last minute. The owner was extremely accommodating and hospitable. Possibly the worst experience I've ever had. I wish I could jump back in time and save all the time, energy, and money I wasted on this place. They are the worst type of people. They were so unbelievably rude and condescending. When they were trying to sell me the package they were super attentive and told me not to worry about a thing. Skip forward to my wedding day after the mind numbing frustration of the planning phase. They had no idea what I wanted even though I went through everything with the planner the previous day. I took multiple days off to address issues only to be turned away multiple times. Tried to call several times as well but ended up repeating myself over and over again after being put on hold for long periods of time without any resolution to any of the issues that they were causing. I thought after all the hassle they put us through they would finally come through on the day of the wedding but they let us down over and over again. Besides throwing a tantrum with the wait staff in front of our guests at the very beginning of the reception, the planner I had the day of the wedding was not around to help at all. Our family and friends stepped in and helped get people food when they denied our guests food early on, and get the food that was supposed to be out but was not, and direct our guests when they needed something. It was so frustrating to go through this whole experience. On top of everything else, a few weeks later I got an e-mail from them that ended up being a virus. Had a very bad experience with Catering By Uptown... Scheduled an event, almost a year in advance. Had a family issue (pregnancy) that precluded using that date. Although I understand the contract does not refund deposits (in this case, about $6,000), we cancelled well in advance. The company did not budge on its policy (which is legal, but bad business practice from a practical standpoint). I would not use them, ever again. I found Catering by Uptown as one of the best caterers voted on The Knot. To our surprise, The Villa is conveniently located 2mins from our house. We weren't blown away by the location (wasn't our style), and The Flag House was recommended. We fell in love immediately, our salesman (Ray) helped us to envision the ceremony outside, and the reception inside. We booked it more than 1 year in advance. As time drew near, we were able to have all of our questions answered (even though some were listed on our personalized website), and things went smoothly. Simply put, our wedding was magical. The weather and atmosphere blew everyone away! The only complaint (if you even want to complain), was there was too much food...not that it wasn't good...our guests wished they had enough room in their stomachs for more! My inquiries were first answered by Jeff and the first sentence in his email to me was "I can't believe I'm getting so much for this price" and he couldn't have been more correct. From the moment we contracted with Uptown their attention to detail and personalization was great. I loved how easy they made everything with the setup on their website, it was great. The day of the wedding was no different. When I walked into the reception area and saw how beautiful everything was set up I was in awe. The food tasted as good as the day I had the private tasting. We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Villa. The thing that sold me on booking this place for our venue was the luxury of having a Planner (Miranda) through out the wedding preparation and a Day of coordinator (Vicky) that made sure everything was set and flowing. Miranda kept me on track with details and deadlines and offered decor ideas when it was time to choose table linen, place settings, food menu, etc. The day of coordinator was great as well, I didn't have to worry/stress about setting up any decor, they handled it all for us and everything looked beautiful. My husband and I were able to really enjoy our reception and have a good time with our guests. The food was awesome..!!! everyone loved the cocktail hour with waiters walking around serving our guests. I was married at Waverly Mansion on Friday July 3rd and wanted to share my experience with people who are interested in using Catering by Uptown. Positive - 1. My wedding coordinator Takasha was amazing! I may have given this review 3 stars if it was not for her. You are put in touch with your coordinator 10 days before your wedding, and she made sure to take care of everything from that point on. The wedding venue looked amazing the day of the wedding, the wedding went smoothly, and she made sure that she and the entire staff at Waverly Mansion (who were all so attentive and very friendly) got myself, my family, and all of my guests anything they needed. If you can request a coordinator, request her! 2. Food - The food was delicious. I usually do not like wedding food, but the appetizers were tasty and the dinner did not disappoint. 3. Venue- Waverly Mansion is beautiful, clean, and well kept. Make sure you have air conditioning if you sweat easily, have a big party, and/or are having an event during the warm months. Negatives - I must say that overall I was disappointed with the staff that I needed to speak to prior to being able to talk with Takasha my coordinator. When you call the office you are placed on the phone with a different person each time who helps you as much as they can depending on the mood they are in for the day. I often felt that they became easily frustrated with me including a manager I even spoke to. I was hoping that I could be treated fairly since I was a paying customer and an eager bride, but I guess it doesn't always happen. Please make sure you get everything in writing here. They might say that they are writing something on your online profile, but request it in an email instead. I really wish that I could give Uptown more stars! I loved working with them and loved, loved, LOVED the food. We just got back from our honeymoon and we really wish that they were a restaurant and we could go and get dinner from them. I got in touch with them almost as soon as we got engaged. I was looking at one of their venues, which we ultimately didn't even use. Their staff were so kind, patient, and helpful. They ended up helping us decide where to do our reception (not even at one of their venues). We did our tasting well in advance of our wedding and then couldn't WAIT to eat at our wedding. It's true that on the day of, you don't have a lot of time to eat and drink. However, we had the amazing Jeff Ditter as our catering coordinator the day of and he was always close by to hand us a drink or to give us a plate of our passed appetizers with our dinner because we just wanted to eat more of them! They were extremely professional and really wonderful the day of. There was plenty of food and the food was beautiful and delicious. We opted to have them do our open bar (even though they are flexible in terms of if you want to buy your own alcohol) and they provide incredible value. You can get your cake through them and we chose to do that. It was delicious and absolutely beautiful! Again, we want to just go buy a cake and enjoy it at home :) Uptown knows what they are doing. They know how to do it right and they will provide you with guidance and advice while still making sure to keep your vision. The Groom's brother had borrowed the key and left it under the tire well for the Groom. Since YOUR STAFF was clearly staking out the car, I'm sure they saw where the Groom's brother hid the key, hence, no forced entry. 4) On a different note, the wedding coordinator was horrible. When asked to direct the guests to the site of the ceremony while we were taking photos in front of the reception site, she actually SCOFFED and rolled her eyes at us, told us she couldn't herd them but that she'd try her best, and walked away. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry with a focus on events, I am APPALLED at the way your company has handled this situation. I am personally offended by your response to my post, and I can guarantee you have lost a great deal of business in the MD/DC area. read more

Phenomenal food. The steak and salmon was delicious. My boyfriend doesn't even like salmon and he ate it and raved about how delicious it was. Best food I've ever had at a wedding. Great service and a beautiful venue at waverly mansion. I'm in my best friends wedding in June and she is using uptown catering at the anchor inn, she made the right choice. I had my wedding at the Celebrations at the Bay location. The day was absolutely perfect! Literally, nothing went wrong. If it did, then the venue took care of it without me knowing because everything was great! Mary was my coordinator for the day and she was as nice as she was organized. I really didn't have to do anything but sip on wine, get dressed, and say I do. EVERYTHING WAS HANDLED FLAWLESSLY. I received constant comments about how amazing the crew was and that nothing was left undone and no one needed anything because the staff was ready and available. The salad, the appetizers, the dinner, the cake, it was all delicious. We even had food that we would not normally eat because it was so good. The planning team answered all my questions within a reasonable time. Once I was assigned Mary as my coordinator, she answered my eMails and questions continuously regardless if it was morning, afternoon, or evening. I even found myself in a financial hardship when my now husband lost his job a month before our wedding. They were kind and understanding and sat down with me to see what our options were to reduce the cost and still have the perfect wedding within our budget. Everyone from the sales representative, the planning team, the finance team, and the day of team was amazing!! read more

Today after a few more emails with Robyn and a direct phone call from the owner I am feeling better. They made sure that they understood my side of what happened, explained the breakdown on their side and apologized, offering to send my father and I or my fiancé and I out to dinner on them. (which I turned down). My goal in this was not for free things, or attention, I honestly never want another person to walk out of any place feeling the way I did. The owner explained that the anger (while out of line) stemmed from a perceived insult towards the company. My intentions were misread, and sometimes people just see red for certain triggers. I feel a lot better about the situation after having spoke to him. I won't be going back there but if their service department is as devoted as they seem I am sure this won't happen to another bride. Their site is beautiful and five out of six of the employees I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Hopefully my experience was an incredibly unlikely quirk in the system. read more

I don't even know where to begin, and I don't think there are enough words in the dictionary to describe how happy I am to have chosen Catering by Uptown to cater our wedding. Everything was absolutely PERFECT! The food was DELICIOUS!!!! (All caps and exclamation points don't even do it justice!); the servers and bartenders were incredibly professional, prompt, and sooooo nice; Peter was the nicest person to work with and so unbelievably helpful; the linens and china were absolutely stunning; the cake was amazing and delicious; everything was just wonderful! I don't even feel like I am doing your company justice right now! I cannot express how absolutely grateful I am for all of your hard work and dedication to your clients. Catering by Uptown was amazing! The entire staff was so professional, responsive, and kind. Full disclosure we are a lesbian couple, and it was very important to find a place that accepted the gays sort of speak LOL. Anne was great and she took us to several different venues staying within our price range. In the end, her and Ray were able to get us a great deal for our small wedding and a wonderful 6 hours of partying! Shonda was our coordinator throughout and she was AMAZINGGGG!! Always so prompt and caring; she always had this sense of warmth when we met up, to put it into perspective on the day of the wedding I didn't want to cut the cake unless Shonda was there because when she was everything always felt better and about 1 minute later she appeared from the room and was right there guiding us on how to cut the cake! I understand these are small things, but it's the small things which we will remember 5, 10, 15 years from now. I would like to say one thing about the staff, before coming into the ceremony the entire staff met us outside and saw how nervous we were. They were saying words of encouragement, like "everything is going to be fine", "you both look beautiful", the "ceremony lighting is no nice, we have never seen the ballroom area so pretty"! We thought this was a good a time to inform the staff that my wife would not be able to have any drinks throughout the night. They did not appear to be phased by this request as the staff were all professionals, and they ended up giving her apple cider throughout the night (looks like champagne to drunk people LOL) always marked with a cherry instead of a strawberry, which symbolized actual champagne (my drink). Sylvia was amazing on the day of the wedding she always made sure we had our respective drinks on our table, and made sure to remind us to eat. The bartender that night was remarkable as well. I was VERY disappointed with uptown caterers. I used them for a party at my house. They forgot one of the main courses and there was a big difference between the estimate and my final bill. They were very misleading. The supervisor they provided us with was extremely unprofessional. I highly do not recommend using them, there are so many other better options out there! read more

It has been more than a month and this company has showed no remorse for the several mistakes they made at my wedding. The served food that was not in our contractual agreement and have created family animosity by sitting people in the wrong areas. After not keeping the contract agreement I asked for 30% reimbursement. They offered me $500 consolation for the $13,000 that I spent on cold food. I'm now in the process of suing seeking legal action. I thought I would use them again but all they care about is money. They aren't concerned with ethics or making sure the customer is happy. I would never ever do business with them again. read more

We were VERY disappointed with Catering By Uptown. We had heard good things about them, so decided to shell out the extra money to go with them. From the time we signed the contract, it was one disaster after another. After signing the contract, we were told to email to set up a planning meeting. When they emailed back, we were told we could have the planning meeting at the group tasting they had set up. We live in Fairfax, VA and the tasting was in Beltsville, MD at 6pm on a Wednesday, but dealt with the traffic, only to learn that there were 200 other people at this tasting, which was a glorified marketing event, and we would have little ability to talk to any staff there to get questions answered. At the end of the night, we did get 5 minutes to talk with our contact, who talked down to us and treated us like we were nervous children. So, we emailed again, to try to set up an actual planning meeting, and no one wrote us back. We emailed several times with no response. Finally my husband-to-be had to call up and yell at them, which finally got their attention. Their excuse was that the guy we were emailing took a different job and that was why he didn't respond, though we saw him there, at each of the planning meetings/tastings we had, clearly doing the same job, so we were flat out lied to. They continued to be very unresponsive during the whole planning phase, unprofessional in the tone/attitude they took with us, often talking down to us and treating us like infants (multiple staff members!). We finally scheduled our planning meeting, which actually went alright. Then we were assigned a planner, who we could meet with for the next time we came. The planner they assigned to us seemed very inexperienced. To give a sample of some of the many things she messed up, at our planning meeting we made decisions that were then supposed to be added to our website, including a timeline for the reception which I wrote out for her and gave to her. When our website was updated, the menu was completely wrong, as was the timeline, which all she had to do was copy into the website planner from the paper I gave her. When I told her it was wrong and inquired if she still had the paper where I wrote down the timeline, she said she lost it. My mom wanted to renumber some of the table numbers on the floor plan at the reception. I asked the planner if we could switch the table numbers for tables 1 and 3. She switched table 3 to be table 1, but didn't switch table 1 to be table 3, so there were two table 1s on the floor plan! I also asked for cocktail tables outside, if it were nice. She placed the cocktail tables outside... on the rain floor plan, but not for the floor plan for a sunny day. Day of the wedding, there were some glitches, though overall things went ok. They confused 2 rooms that were supposed to be set up with hors d'oeuvres and champagne, putting them in the wrong room. Also, the chicken dish we selected had some sort of sauce on it that was not what we selected during the tasting, which we were not happy about. We were supposed to have a private waitress, who we saw once all night. In fact, the DJ offered to get us drinks, as no one from the wait staff was paying attention to us. After the event, they lost the picture frame we gave them to use for our specialty drink sign. They finally found it, and mailed it back to us....completely broken. All in all, we were very disappointed with our experience with Catering By Uptown. We were very pleased with all of our other wedding vendors, but these people were awful. I would not recommend them to anyone and wish we had chosen someone else. read more
