AVOID! Really poor quality dental practice. Most of the reviews here are fake. I got suckered in to going to their practice. Had a filling done. The dentist used poor technique with the Novocain and the injection site became infected with a small legion on the jaw. The filling was done improperly as well, but the infection persisted for weeks. Poor and uninformed follow up. After losing faith in Manhasset Dental Arts I went to another dentist in the city who immediately addressed the issue and validated how horrible a job the prior dentist had done both on the simple procedure and the follow up. There were so many signs. Even the office staff and dental hygienists were unprofessional. I hope my review can help people avoid this same pain and waste of time. read more

I don't often write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in the hope of preventing others from making the same mistake I made. I recently visited this dentist to get my teeth whitened. While I expected my teeth to feel some pain for a few days, I did not expect my inner and outer lips to be burned. The dentist did not apologize or offer any sort of compensation for the injury and her failed services. Instead, she simply said that "this can happen with teeth whitening gel." Go to a professional that knows what they're are doing and will care. It's been extremely painful and I cant eat anything comfortably. Unfortunately, I will continue to suffer bc of their negligence. I called with an emergency dental issue. This practice takes my dental insurance, yet when I called Ashley told me that at this time they DO NOT want to accept my insurance. They wanted to be paid upfront at the time of my visit. She immediately told me their cash price. When I asked why she told me that, Dr. Elizabeth Abrams accepts my insurance but her family partner, Dr. Michael Abrams does not....so technically they're not obligated to honor my insurance. Nice loophole to avoid insurance! In summary, they get you to call them because they take your insurance, but once you call they pull the old bait and switch trick. Now I understand that like most dental practices they're keeping limited hours for emergencies and therefore have the luxury of picking and choosing between the less profitable insurance patients like me and the more lucrative cash patients. Apparently they've forgotten that people like me are out of work and can't afford to abandon my expensive dental insurance and reach into my pocket to pay them cash. Is this how a dental practice should treat its patients during the emergency COVID-19 crisis? I think not. read more

This dental office is unlike any other dental office I've ever gone to. It's far from outdated like most dental practices you're probably used to walking into. The staff is family ran so you get personable vibes from the start. Everything from sign in to leaving was time efficient! They have state of the art new technology, everything is brand new, clean, and you get to watch YouTube music videos while they work on your teeth. Even their water system is purified alkaline water! It's like my mouth was having spa treatment during my cleaning! Elizabeth is super nice and she explains the process as she works on you to make things less nerve wrecking, and during my fillings she knows when to give novacain and when it's not necessary to make things LESS abrasive! Got some x-rays done at this place and asked for a copy just to be told I can't have it until insurance processes the claim. When I told the front desk lady that's not only unethical, but also explicitly illegal to withhold medical records for payment-related issues, the only response I got was "that's what we always do!" (Yes, we ALWAYS break the law is awesome defence, apparently). Of note: there were no actual issues with insurance payment, it was just being processed and I needed x-rays for a scheduled oral surgeon visit and made it abundantly clear to the front desk. By far the worst dentist I ever had to visit. They lack proper communication and all they care for is their money! I went in for a filling and it came off in less than a week! When I called to tell them that my filling came off, they said I can come back in and pay for it again since my insurance covered it the first time around.... When I went in for the filling, I decided I'd ask about the Invisalign process since I knew I wanted to get the ball rolling on that too, my dentist said I can speak to their Orthadontist who will give me a break down of what I'd have to do next, what they failed to mention was that I would be charged for the conversation because it was actually a consult. They then charged my insurance for the "consult fee" without telling me and called me to tell me I still owe them $6.50 because my insurance didn't cover the complete fee. I've been to Manhasset Dental twice. Each time I was greeted kindly and had little to no wait time. Dr Elizabeth Abrams is very kind. She explained what I needed to get done and was very honest when answering my questions. I expressed interest in getting my teeth straighten and whitened. On the second visit Dr. Elizabeth asked Dr. Michael to come in and answer my questions. Both were absolutely amazing. For the past couple of years, I've gotten cleanings at different dental offices because I wasn't happen with the cleaning, the staff, and/or the dentist. I finally feel like I've found my dentist. This is a family teamed practice that really cares about building a solid business and taking care of it's patients . I honestly could not imagine a better dental visit in regards to my first experience there tonight . They got me in right away and I got to work work with Dr Michael Abrams who is as solid and professional as they come . I might add he is kind and skilled. He put in notable effort and everything went smoothly. I was there when it was a little quieter so it was a particularly good experience but I'm sure that if it was more crowded they would have worked hard to accommodate everyone . Why? This is high caliber dentistry at its finest. I was actually relaxed in Dr. Abrams chair. Nothing relaxes me... I'd get agitated if I needed a splinter removed!He is kind and patient and the office has the latest state-of-the-art equipment. I had an involved periodontal treatment that went very smoothly, whew! Horrid. I'm in the medical profession myself so I know horrid when I see it. #1 - no parking. You have to ride around a residential area where all the spaces are restricted and cops are trolling to find a space. I finally found one, 4 block away and trudged to the office, setting my phone alarm to make sure I got out in time to avoid a ticket. #2 - I get there and they hand me a keypad to type all my new patient information into their computer base. I thought maybe they confused me with a job applicant. When I finally finished my work, I went to sit down in the empty waiting room. I never saw an empty dentist office before and I still had to wait a good 20 minutes before being called. #3 - they stand me at some contraception that reminded of getting a mammography and put my head in a noose so they can take a full set of #4- Xrays - even though I said I was only there for one pain in the tooth. After the girl finishes - I see protective eyewear and a vest on a chair so I ask the girl - what is that for? She tells me for the Xrays. Except they didn't give ME any to put on before they took my Xrays. #5 - I wait another 15 minutes for Elizabeth - I should have googled her instead of the office name because she had some bad reviews from where she used to work in Queens. She comes in and stands behind me so I have to twist around to talk to her and she's saying I need all these teeth pulled and a bridge or whatever. I told her look - I'm just here because my tooth was giving me a lot of pain - it had subsided but I wanted that taken care of. #6 - She makes no move whatsover to even look in my mouth. She's just staring at the X-ray which is now on a Tv monitor in front of my chair - & she's still standing behind me babbling about doing a "plan" to get approval for my insurance. I told her, I'm pretty sure when its an emergency and I'm in pain - they'll let you handle it and anyway, didn't I sign my first born child away with all those forms you had me typing in to your computer? She does more babbling and next thing I know, she goes off to write a plan for me & I'm leaving without any work done. I had to wrestle an anti-biotic prescription from her before I walked out so I least I could take care of the inflammation before I went to another dentist. #7 - craziest experience at a dentist office. And she billed my insurance for an examination - never even looked in my mouth - and sent them a plan to approve to pull all these teeth and do a bridge. All I wanted was my toothache taken care of. read more

Just spent a half hour arguing with a receptionist. I have a dental emergency and she keeps claiming no anti-biotic refill until I speak with Elizabeth - who is apparently out of the office and unreachable for the next 2 days. I asked to speak to the brother-in-law - the other dentist and the receptionist is telling me he won't talk to me because he isn't the one who saw me last time. I finally insisted and she said ok I'll do what you ask me but he might not have time to call you back. And I doubt he'll be able to call back since the receptionist didn't bother asking for my cell phone number and the only number they have is a landline that is not being manned. Seriously? I went to the pharmacist Thursday to see if I had a refill and he said he'd call them to request one because its always done like that. They don't call me until Saturday when I am out and they closed early. I call back today to tell them its the same chronic infection that regressed and now came back & I've pretty much always had. It seems like this is an office that makes mountains out of molehills. I have to stay in pain with an infection well she enjoys her vacation days because they didn't allow for a second refill when they prescribed the anti-biotic in the first place - which most dentists do as a matter of course. These people wanted to pull everything out which I'm not agreeing too. I just need the inflammation tended to right now. Are they that desperate for business? They've just lost mine. I need a dentist who is responsible and capable of handling emergencies - not just an office looking to load up the cash register with tooth whitenings. read more

Dr. Abrams is amazing! I relocated from Texas and needed help. Dr. Abrams comes in and takes his time, he understands my concerns, and made excellent recommendations. He has a truly caring and helpful attitude. The staff is helpful, kind, and I had a wonderful experience. I will definitely go back! read more
