It's been a while since I've had such a pleasant dentist appointment. I love how you feel you're high in the trees because of the floor and surrounding trees. Ashley, the dental hygienist, was thorough and really nice. My teeth felt incredibly clean after! Dr. Heisler was also really kind and helped me understand a bit more about some previous dentist's work in my mouth, reassuring me and giving me some comfort. Umm, and you can watch Netflix in the chair. And the chair gently massaged my back! They don't take insurance, which isn't ideal. The receptionist said it's unlikely I'll pay anything given the plan I have, so I'm banking on that. I'll be a bit disappointed, though, if I will need to pay anything given what the receptionist mentioned when I made the appointment. read more

I am embarrassed that I have taken so long to write this review, but I'm one that likes to see the final result before writing. I'm glad I did because my 94-year-old father is so much happier now that he has new dentures made by Dr. Eliot Heisler of Elite Dental Spa in Great Neck. If I could rate him and his practice 10 stars, I would. You could say that my father is a retired dentist and that Dr. Heisler treated him this well because of this. You could say that they went to the same dental school and therefore he was treated well because they had things to share. You could say he seemed honored to work on my dad because my dad retired at 87. But this would be only partially correct. While I sat there in the treatment room watching and listening, patients would stop and say a very cheerful hello to the doctor and he would ask how they were. They were genuinely pleased to see each other. I learned that while some had moved away, they continued to go to his practice. They were there to see the hygienist, but it was obvious that he sees them for their checkups and other treatments. His speciality is Prosthodontics, but does many other dental services.. To my father he was so kind, so respectful and gentle. There is no doubt that this describes Dr. Heisler's demeanor with everyone. My father had to go for several fittings for his new dentures. His old dentures had caused him problems for years and caused changes in the bone structure of his mouth. I actually think my father enjoyed going to him because normally he fusses over visits to professionals! But, Everyone, I mean EVERYONE that works in this practice is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Place is super clean and feels like you're in a spa rather than a dental office. I like that the most. Usually, the feel of a dental office skeeves me out and I tend to get nervous. A quality dental clinic in the neighborhood! You will rewrite your dental experience after you come to this clinic. My husband and I have been coming to this place for the past few years, and it's not exaggerating that we actually like to come here! Dr. Heisler is professional at what he does, and explains throughly and make sure his patients know their condition and how to maintain their teeth health. He never let his patients feel he is in rush to get on his business with next the patient. In other words, you will never get the feeling of "NEXT!" from Dr. Heisler :) We can always ask him question during the session, and he will make sure to take time and answer it. They have few hygienists in the clinic, and they are all very skillful and do great job on my annual cleaning. The goody bag after the cleaning each time is like Christmas coming early! They're not only giving you a toothbrush and a toothpaste, but two toothbrush and two toothpaste and two mini month wash bottles and a mini floss pack, and a full size lip balm. So many goodies that they would put in a cute paper bag and hand you with big smile :)) Of course all the great service has to include the friendly staffs at the front desk! Melanie is great, she knows her thing in and out! Questions with insurance, coverage, deductible, and more; she can get you most of the answer out from top of her head. You can tell she's very experienced. Though few questions she may need to find out and get back to you, she is very quickly to respond and on top of the task. He's the best dentist I've been to and never pushes invasive cosmetic procedures on you, which I've experienced with many other dentists. I am so happy and disappointed at the same time!! I recently had another great cleaning at Elite Dental Spa, Dr. Heisler is wonderful as is the hygienist Lorraine! I love coming here! But here is the disappointing part: I have been using COBRA since losing my job and naively thought that my dental coverage was continued the same as my medical insurance. As I was very overdue for a cleaning, and continuously got calls, emails and texts from the office asking me when I was coming in for my overdue cleaning, I decided to make an appointment since I was unemployed and had the time to go during the week and didn't want to wait much longer to avoid any potential issues. Unfortunately, I had no idea my dental coverage didn't continue. I have luckily since started a new job in which my new insurance will kick in very soon. I obviously would have waited for my new insurance to kick in before returning but was hoping that they could work with me in this type of situation. I am so upset to be paying so much out of pocket for something that I wasn't aware of - especially since I have been out of work and just started a new job.
