    Everything bagels in every shade
    Anne R.

Consistently inconsistent....that has become the experience here. The quality control is non-existent and the bagels look as if they all came from different bakers. The only positive comment I can make is that they were having a January discount. Save your money and go somewhere else!

asked for everything bagels toasted with scallion cream cheese and it was not toasted and barely had cream cheese. I went through the drive through and was in line for at least 20 minutes with only a few cars ahead of me. Once pulling up the window i saw many employees on their phones and not doing anything. I give it three stars because it was New Year's day, and I have had pervious great experiences here.

I've never been to a bagel drive through before, but I guess the time was right for a new experience. Truth be told, that was the most memorable part of my stop in Chalfont, PA, a village in the bucolic center of Bucks County. It was strange to remain in the car rather than walk in to scope out the bagel bins to see their inventory before ordering. Too, the queue was exceedingly slow, and it would have been quicker to park and go inside, than to wait in the drive up window crawl. Lesson learned. As to the bagel, it was a softy, without firm crust, but plenty of roasted onion flakes. Funny that these rounders are called "Manhattan Bagels," when nothing could be further from an accurate name. Without a firm bite and chew, and smaller than found in a corner bagelry in any borough of the city, these children while minimally satisfactory, just don't provide that full bagel nosh we all love. The peach yogurt smoothie was likewise a poor facsimile of the fresh fruit drink I hoped for. It was made from a heavy sweet peach syrup, with nary a hint of peach pulp to be found. Not to be consumed without insulin. Definitely an experience not to be repeated.

"Toast your bagel?  Nah bro, we don't feel like it"

I tried, I really did, but the staff is not concerned with your order or its accuracy. -pull a bagel -toast it -add cream cheese Considering one is the standard, and you miss number two on numerous occasions, it's time to stop coming here and hoping they'll do the bare minimum that you've paid for. This is "toasted"

I ordered two sandwiches to take home: a bacon, egg & cheese on a garlic bagel and a pork roll, egg & cheese on a garlic bagel. Both smelled delicious when I opened them up, and I was happy to see that the eggs were made fresh rather than being zapped in the microwave. The biggest disappointment was the size of the sandwiches. For the price, I expected them to be a little more substantial. Adding another egg or two would have made a big difference and given the sandwiches more of a stacked, filling feel. The staff member who took my order wasn't particularly friendly, which also took a little away from the experience. I understand that a specialty bagel shop may cost a little more, but the sandwiches are a few dollars more than what I could get at my local deli. Overall, the food was good, the bagels were fresh, and I like the concept, but I think the portions and customer service could be improved to justify the higher price.

I happened to stumble upon Bagel Barn while heading to a doctor's appointment, and I'm glad I did--I found the needle. This place is 100% legit. These bagels have exactly what I look for: that deep, dark-baked color and a distinct crust on the outside, opening up to that perfect, characteristic chew that only a real NY-style bagel possesses. The Standouts: The Everything Bagel: A classic that does not disappoint. The Everything Asiago: Stop the presses! This is a hidden gem and a total must-try. The Cold Brew: I won't even ask how they make it; something that good just deserves to be paired with an amazing bagel. The "Purist" Test: On my first visit, they asked if I wanted my bagel toasted. As a purist, if the bagels are being made fresh, I don't want them toasted unless I'm eating them days later at home. The fact that this bagel held up perfectly without being toasted proved to me that this is, hands down, the best place to buy bagels in the area. The Service: The cherry on top is the ownership and the staff. I've been in three times now, and the team is consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming. Thank you, Bagel Barn, for bringing a real piece of home to PA!

We ordered a dozen for the co-workers and 8 doughnuts for ourselves! Those 8 were as follows - Coffee Roll Cherry Bomb Glazed Caramel Delight Pumpkin Cinnamon Chocolate Glazed Boston Cream Chocolate Chocolate Glazed They were all good, however a few excelled. My partner fell in love with the Boston Cream...it epitomized the Yum Yum slogan "Donuts are the heart of our business and our hearts go into making them". The chocolate frosting on top caught her attention, but it was the creamy custard filling that put her into a doughnut bliss. Her next favorite was, ironically, the classic, plain Glazed doughnut! I also tasted the fluffy, yeast doughnut with a simple sweet glaze. It was wonderful. Let's take a quick departure from yeast to cake - the Cinnamon Pumpkin and Chocolate-Chocolate Glazed doughnuts. I like pumpkin pie and this doughnut started the fall season for me. The spices - most likely nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves - made this cinnamon-sugar coated doughnut delicious. I'm all about chocolate and the Chocolate-Chocolate Glazed doughnut met all my expectations. Starting with that 'chocolate frosting', combined with the taste and texture of the fluffy but firm cake - it was perfect. The Coffee Roll was somewhat unique in that it had the ideal amount of cinnamon and sugar for a 'coffee roll'. My partner thought it should be 'sweeter', like a sticky bun...no this is different. The hand rolled, sweet dough pastry with its soft texture, honey glaze and a light vanilla icing made it an excellent choice! The Cherry Bomb was really number 3 on my partner's list - she loves cherries and the doughnut was stuffed with a thick, sweet and chunky chopped cherry filling. Let's not forget it was topped with a maraschino cherry which she made sure to eat (with her first bite). I think there may be one or two more doughnuts on the list but I think you're probably done reading my doughy doughnut descriptions for now!! You'll have to stop by the Yum Yum and try a few doughnuts for yourself! It's most certainly worth the trip!
