This is my third visit to a Manhattan Bagel store in the past few weeks. They all look basically the same, both in substance and cleanliness. Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The bagels were all decent, but not in the pantheon of great New York style rounders. So, it is somewhat surprising that they use the name of the city that made bagels famous, because they fall far short of that standard. Yet, they are good enough to satisfy my breakfast hunger, even if not epic. My onion bagel with veggie cream cheese was tasty and chewy, with a slightly crisp skin. The spread was ample, if not over the top generous. Their coffee was good, with a few alternatives between House Blend, Bold, fruity and decaf. Certainly, caffeinated to wake me up and keep me focused. The only real issue worth noting was the inconsistent experience offered by the three shops visited in this area. They looked the same, and the cream cheese was enjoyable across the board, but the freshness and texture alternated between right on target with crisp outer surface and softer texture within; and a chew that suggested the bagel was not as fresh (although purchased and eaten an approximately the same time), and may have been from a batch made earlier in the day. When it comes to out of the oven bagels, even a few hours more exposed to the environment can mean an aging that is noticeable. So it was with these samples. Today's was the least fresh, while smeared with the most cream cheese. Perhaps that was not an accident. read more

Love the service & bagels here. A little too much if you know what I mean. . . My husband almost always gets the Ranchero wrap. I enjoy all the varieties including the chocolate chip. They have just about any type of soft drink, juice or coffee you could want. I never liked cream cheese until I had their garlic & herb kind. Now I'm addicted. The ladies that work here in the morning work miracles when it's crowded. And they're super pleasant. read more

We came here to grab a quick bite after some recommendations from a friend. We were excited to see the menu, but were quickly disappointed after receiving our food. We could look passed the fact that our order was not complete when given to us (we had ordered a side that supposedly didn't get rung up but since we were not given a receipt we can't be sure if that was truly the case). None of the bread or bagels were thoroughly toasted - golden brown on the top and edges, but completely soft and room temperature in the middle. The BLT had perhaps 3 slices of overcooked bacon, completely overshadowed by the massive amounts of mayo and the poor lettuce that was one day away from a wilting death. The coleslaw and the hash brown were the biggest disappointment. The coleslaw was so soggy that after one bite, a different side was immediately requested. (The potato salad replacement was acceptable). After reordering the hash brown we waited for, we were saddened to see the flattest, thinnest little hash brown, wrapped in paper. We didn't discount the little fella on its looks, but we have never tasted a hash brown that didn't even taste like potatoes before. The Pam that we watched the cooks spray on the grill was the only thing we could taste and, considering how thin the hash brown was, there was probably more oil spray than potato on that thing! Honestly the best part of this meal was the garlic and herb cream cheese. But, I mean, garlic saves everything. We frequent Feasterville-Trevose several times a year and I can say with certainty that we will not be back to this Manhattan Bagel. read more

Is this where I scream, " Oh my gosh, I can not believe that I have not reviewed this place! I have been in here at least 67 times!" Or is this where I say, " Okay it's a chain..." when you already know that? Nah, I'm not going to say any of that, but what I will say is, short of driving to NYC to find an awesome bagel, Manhattan Bagels are pretty good and they do boil and bake them daily. Surely they have over a dozen and one half different varieties and although I have not tried them all I love the rye, garlic, jalapeno & cheddar, the onion, the everything is awesome and has most of the herbs, onions and peppers, the cinnamon raisin when I'm feeling sweet and topped with gobs of butter is so good. They also have a nice variety of cream cheese spreads and my faves are the garlic and herb, the strawberry is so good on a sesame or salted bagel, wash this down with a strawberry & cream frozen drink. And the Tijuana hot cream cheese on a jalapeno & cheddar bagel is amazing and probably my favorite at the moment. I often have the lox and lox cream cheese spread, a slice of tomato and more red onions please, they are always chintzy with the onions, this combo is also great on the salted bagel. I like the vegetable and the scallion spreads too. We may as well call Manhattan Bagel a restaurant since they have a breakfast menu with wraps, bagel breakfast sandwiches with eggs, cheese, ham, bacon, pork roll or sausage, they even have an egg white only option, you can opt out of the bagel in exchange for one of their toasted focaccia breads. Seeing we are here, they have a Philly egg sandwich with you guessed it grilled onion, shaved steak, cheese and egg... I need to try this one. You do know they have cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, fresh fruit cups and yogurt with granola and muffins, right? Their lunch menu has something for everyone from soups, many salad choices, and sandwiches made on fresh baked plain, cheddar, sesame or can you say Asiago rolls? Any sandwich can be made on a bagel or the focaccia as well or you can have a wrap. I'm not about to list all the sandwich choices but do try their grilled chicken salad one day either on top of a salad or on one of their awesome rolls. For drinks they serve hot or iced coffees, hot or iced teas, lemonade, juices, lattes galore, mochas, yogurt drinks and fruit smoothies. Check this out and I do love it although I wish they had a plain flour tortilla to wrap this all in as the honey wheat tortilla is good, but a bit sweet for my taste when it comes to being filled with three scrambled eggs, bacon, melted Monterey jack cheese, ancho salsa and the Tijuana hot cream cheese. I haven't been to manhattan bagel for a very long time.. what a pleasant surprise going back. I picked up the nova lox with capers and onions. The bagels were as I remembered them which isn't a bad thing and my sandwich was like a party n my palate. Top it off with a pickle for $7 and you just can't beat it! I'll be back for sure read more

The bagels here are actually pretty good and not overly doughy, like they can be at other Manhattan Bagel locations. The egg-poppyseed (never saw this at a another location, either!) was great with the veggie cream cheese, and the plain paired very nicely with the strawberry spread, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. The other baked goods here are decent; the blueberry muffin is pretty standard as is the cheese danish. They were good but didn't really stand out. We had breakfast catered for a meeting and the bagels were great without needing to be toasted. You can definitely tell that they were boiled and then baked, not simply plopped into the oven, because they had the characteristic bagel shell. They were sliced very evenly and I liked that the muffins and danishes were portioned into halves so that you could have one of each without bursting. read more

Just had a disturbing experience. Cashiers getting confused on which patron ordered which sandwich. Much confusion. 1st customer, very annoyed, eventually leaves with his order. 2nd customer, gets sandwich, unfolds aluminum wrap, picks up sandwich in his hands, stares confused. One of cashiers realizes, that's not his sandwich. It's mine. Cashier brings him his sandwich, takes mine back, re-wraps it and puts in a bag and starts to ring me up. I get the Wed special, 16oz coffee and sandwich for $4.99. I know I won't drink that much coffee so I grab the smallest cup so not to waster coffee and waste a larger cup. Cashier rings up a price nearly $2 more then expected, says, since I didn't use the 16oz cup, I don't get the Wed special pricing. She already has run my card for $7.22 and says she cannot credit my card. I say I don't want to pay more b/c I used a small cup, just cancel whole order, I haven't touch anything, although another customer has. . . I eventually get credited, all good with money. If they're OK with re-wrapping sandwich, touched by another customer, what other unhygenic acts are occurring in this store. Manhattan Bagel has lost a customer for life! read more

I ordered my food as well as a drink (frozen coffee). I received my food but no drink. I waited about 20 minutes for it then I asked the guy working, where it was and just then he started making it. He puts it in the blender and it blends. After it was done blending he left it in there for 15 mins. I went up again to ask for my drink and was still made to wait another 10 minutes for it. When I got it it was all melted and it was just not good. In my opinion the customer service here is awful and I will not return read more

I decided to get breakfast for my mom and I and saw how close this place was. I never tried it before so I decided to give it a shot. First of all, they are super duper disorganized and super duper slow omg. You have to order at the counter near the drinks and then pay at the counter near the door. I told the woman I wanted a Nova Lox bagel and then ANOTHER jalapeno bagel with jalapeno spread. I also ordered one hashbrowns. The teenager that was ringing me up looked so confused and out of place. I also bought a container of their cream cheese spread as it looked really good and a slice of their pound cake. I paid $15 and some change and they did not even give me a receipt? My order was relatively quick and I looked instead to make sure everything was in there. I only saw one bagel and my hasbrown so I assumed she was taking a while to make the Nova Lox. I waited about FIFTEEN MINUTES and none of them once asked me like "hey are you waiting for something else?" or "did you need anything else????" Finally I got impatient and went to the counter and asked if she was finishing up my second bagel. The lady was like you only ordered one??? Im like I specifically told you my order. She finally went back to make my second bagel and when she finished I asked her if they charged me for it. She stated she did not know and will check the receipt. I went to the counter and the guy charged me an additional $3.17 so I assumed they never charged me the first time. As I left, I wondered how did I pay $15 the first time????? They definitely charged me twice. But I couldn't say anything as I was not sure since they didnt give me a reciept! I opened my bagels and omg, it was completely wrong. She had put jalapeno bagel and jalapeno cream cheese with my Nova Lox? I never asked for that? There was also SOOO little cream cheese on my other bagel it was horrendous. The food tasted good but the customer service is horrible. They need to repeat orders, give receipts and work on make sure people get what they asked for. ALso the hashbrown was absolute wack. They don't make their lunch sandwiches per Manhattan's specifically. They like to change out chips as your back is turned and put the different chips in your bag. Thieving bastards! Called and complained to corp but nothing will be done like usual. If you are going to be a franchise then you still have to follow the correct recipe for the sandwich. Probably the best in this area for breakfast sandwiches. Even better than Paneras across the street. Eggs are cracked and cooked fresh right in front of you on a clean grill. Egg whites and turkey sausage available to the health conscious Priced right. Friendly smiling employees willing to prepare your sandwich to your liking. always wear disposable gloves which is a biggie with me . Coffee is average . Ambiance is small and blandish but ok for a quick nosh. The bagels are always fresh daily. Wish they were open a little later than 2 pm as their lunch sandwiches are pretty good (try the turkey and cheddar or the ham and Swiss, yum) and would be a good dinner bite every now and then, o well. My elderly father was hit by a car in their parking lot. I closed form out of state and asked the store to please call the police. I told them that he has a lot of health problems and even if he said he was okay the police needed to be called and he needed to be evaluated. They told me he was okay. I explained again that he had a lot of health issues and that they need to call the police and not let him leave. They did NOT call the police. They let him get in his car and drive home where he called my brother told him he was in a lot of pain and have cuts all over him and needed help. I will pursuing legal action against this store. When I called to speak to the manger she told me I had nothing to be upset about. Please spread the word about this lack of action to help a senior citizen. read more

The food here is not the problem. The man that is in charge there is very rude and doesn't seem like he cares. On the other had the ladies that work there are pleasant and one of them even knows my order by heart even tho I don't go that often. The girls have been very accommodating and that is why they get 4 stars.
