    Everything bagels in every shade
    Anne R.

Consistently inconsistent....that has become the experience here. The quality control is non-existent and the bagels look as if they all came from different bakers. The only positive comment I can make is that they were having a January discount. Save your money and go somewhere else!

asked for everything bagels toasted with scallion cream cheese and it was not toasted and barely had cream cheese. I went through the drive through and was in line for at least 20 minutes with only a few cars ahead of me. Once pulling up the window i saw many employees on their phones and not doing anything. I give it three stars because it was New Year's day, and I have had pervious great experiences here.

I've never been to a bagel drive through before, but I guess the time was right for a new experience. Truth be told, that was the most memorable part of my stop in Chalfont, PA, a village in the bucolic center of Bucks County. It was strange to remain in the car rather than walk in to scope out the bagel bins to see their inventory before ordering. Too, the queue was exceedingly slow, and it would have been quicker to park and go inside, than to wait in the drive up window crawl. Lesson learned. As to the bagel, it was a softy, without firm crust, but plenty of roasted onion flakes. Funny that these rounders are called "Manhattan Bagels," when nothing could be further from an accurate name. Without a firm bite and chew, and smaller than found in a corner bagelry in any borough of the city, these children while minimally satisfactory, just don't provide that full bagel nosh we all love. The peach yogurt smoothie was likewise a poor facsimile of the fresh fruit drink I hoped for. It was made from a heavy sweet peach syrup, with nary a hint of peach pulp to be found. Not to be consumed without insulin. Definitely an experience not to be repeated.

"Toast your bagel?  Nah bro, we don't feel like it"
    Joshua K.

I tried, I really did, but the staff is not concerned with your order or its accuracy. -pull a bagel -toast it -add cream cheese Considering one is the standard, and you miss number two on numerous occasions, it's time to stop coming here and hoping they'll do the bare minimum that you've paid for. This is "toasted"

I gave it a 2 star as that is how many items I got correct out of the 12 items I ordered. It has gone down hill in the past year or so.

Well as of recently we both have seen it shared a bit and decided to try it out. We both got the pan con chicharron sandwich . I ordered plantains as a side and he had fries - it was a $4 add on for a side which you save $2.50 each by adding it to the sandwich. The size of the sides are probably both worth the $6.50 on their own. The fries were your basic fries - probably frozen but good. The plain twins were fried nicely and had good flavor - I would have loved a dipping sauce with them. Now since the place is known for their chicken I wanted to try something with chicken. Well they had empanadas (not sure if this is always on the menu) and you could get 3 for $12 with a sauce. We did each of the 3 flavors they had available: Huachana Empanada (this is the house made Salchicha which is a Peruvian sausage w/ eggs), ham & cheese , and the chicken . The sauce I picked to go with them was their signature sauce - the aji pollo. The sauce I have never tasted anything like it - definitely interesting. The chicken empanada was very plain. The chicken definitely did have a unique flavor but was a little dry in the empanada - it was apparently cooked with the same sauce. The ham and cheese was my favorite - I loved the cooper sharp with the ham. The sausage also had a great spice! As for the sandwich the chicharron was cooked so well paired with the sweet potato and pickled onions it gave it a nice balance of sweet and salty as well as different textured bites. I will say overall that most of the items on the menu were a tad dry and could use a sauce or something - however overall the flavor was great. Everything came to $40 which wasn't bad. The restaurant was super clean inside, they had a few tables but we got takeout. It also looked like they served coffee and a few other things. Their online order menu definitely has more items listed than the regular menu. I definitely do want to go back and try the rotisserie chicken on its own with some other sides! A very filling meal though if you're looking for that !

The food is absolutely phenomenal--fresh, clean, flavorful, and consistently delicious. If I were rating the food alone, it would easily be five stars. Unfortunately, my recent experience with customer service was disappointing. I only get a one-hour lunch break, and this restaurant is about 17 minutes from my office, so timing is important. I called ahead while driving so my order could be ready when I arrived. The woman who answered the phone was very difficult to hear, and she also seemed to have trouble understanding me. I politely asked several times if she could speak up because I couldn't hear her, but instead, the call was disconnected. Since I was only a few minutes away, I drove to the restaurant to order in person. I mentioned that our call had been disconnected, but it wasn't acknowledged. I ordered a chicken kebab pita with feta cheese. I've ordered feta here many times before, but there seemed to be some confusion about what I was asking for. Eventually, someone I assume was the owner came over and helped complete my order. I also ordered a combo, which includes fries and a drink. After receiving my food, I checked the bag and noticed the fries were missing. When I asked about them, I was told my combo didn't include fries because I added feta--even though I was charged extra for the feta. That explanation didn't make much sense, especially since the menu advertises the combo as including fries. I'm hoping this was simply a new team that's still in training, because that's honestly the benefit of the doubt I'd like to give. Everyone has to learn somewhere. I truly hope they get the service side running as well as the kitchen because the food is outstanding. I'll continue coming back because it's one of my favorite places to eat, and I'd love to see future customers have an experience that matches the quality of the food.

I ordered two sandwiches to take home: a bacon, egg & cheese on a garlic bagel and a pork roll, egg & cheese on a garlic bagel. Both smelled delicious when I opened them up, and I was happy to see that the eggs were made fresh rather than being zapped in the microwave. The biggest disappointment was the size of the sandwiches. For the price, I expected them to be a little more substantial. Adding another egg or two would have made a big difference and given the sandwiches more of a stacked, filling feel. The staff member who took my order wasn't particularly friendly, which also took a little away from the experience. I understand that a specialty bagel shop may cost a little more, but the sandwiches are a few dollars more than what I could get at my local deli. Overall, the food was good, the bagels were fresh, and I like the concept, but I think the portions and customer service could be improved to justify the higher price.

I happened to stumble upon Bagel Barn while heading to a doctor's appointment, and I'm glad I did--I found the needle. This place is 100% legit. These bagels have exactly what I look for: that deep, dark-baked color and a distinct crust on the outside, opening up to that perfect, characteristic chew that only a real NY-style bagel possesses. The Standouts: The Everything Bagel: A classic that does not disappoint. The Everything Asiago: Stop the presses! This is a hidden gem and a total must-try. The Cold Brew: I won't even ask how they make it; something that good just deserves to be paired with an amazing bagel. The "Purist" Test: On my first visit, they asked if I wanted my bagel toasted. As a purist, if the bagels are being made fresh, I don't want them toasted unless I'm eating them days later at home. The fact that this bagel held up perfectly without being toasted proved to me that this is, hands down, the best place to buy bagels in the area. The Service: The cherry on top is the ownership and the staff. I've been in three times now, and the team is consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming. Thank you, Bagel Barn, for bringing a real piece of home to PA!
