I'm not far from this bagel place. For years I'd go there for a quick breakfast with my daughter or a friend. It was cute, little tables, counter service, you could stand at the bagel case and pick out your bagels. Since covid they changed the whole set up. Now it's cold and uninviting. A line of computers where tables once were where you have to order. Now its a gray dreary decor. No more picking out bagels, getting your coffee, or sitting and enjoying an experience. I'll never go back, not even for drive thru. Thank God Manhattan bagel in North Wales is friendly and welcoming. It's a pleasant breakfast, I'd recommend the extra drive and going there. read more

Coffee is usually good and hot. Bagels are delicious! (had store bagel today since wasn't in area to pick more up today at Manhattan and what a difference! Store brand was super gluey and bad texture inside but ok on the outside. They are a little skimpy on ingredients quite recently, but still can get good sandwiches. But PLEASE do not eat their cole slaw! It's the worst ever! So much preservative taste! Their potato salad was better. Yes, I agree that sometimes they forget things, but often we get what we ordered. Wait time can be a bit long, but not too bad. I usually wouldn't write a review on a place where I only got a cup of coffee, but I felt that this review is well deserved. Not only did I see a team of employees working together to serve customers, but the communication was incredible, and the employees were very receptive to all the customers, even with the long line. I think this feeling resonated in other patrons as no one got upset because of the wait, and when it came to be my turn, I wanted to test the product knowledge, and instead of getting an "I don't know" to a question about sausage, I got an answer, then a further confirmation from another employee. This is the service that I wish I saw more often but don't, and I think that the management here must be great because the staff knows how to work together in harmony. As for the coffee? It was hot, fresh, and the bar was fully stocked with supplies so I didn't have to wait to ask for creamer. This has become my new spot for morning coffee. read more

It is definitely a tradition to stop here for breakfast on our way to Woodbury, with good reason. The bagels and coffee are fresh, the service unsurpassed, and the breakfast sandwiches very good. They have a fully-stocked selection of bagels, including the CA powerbagel and asiago, that have a soft interior and great, chewy, flavorful shell. My favorite part about this branch is the service, though. The staff are always cheerful and our food is always hand-delivered quickly and with smiles. A fantastic neighborhood bagel cafe! Last month I was in Chalfont almost every day taking my grandparent's kitty to the radiation treatment center down the road. Our last day there, my grandmother and I stopped by Manhattan Bagel for a snack. She got a cinnamon muffin that she told me was the best she'd had in her 75 years on this Earth. I ate a wheat bagel with veggie cream cheese. It was slightly messy but delicious. Plus there was a guy who worked there that resembled Darren Criss of Glee, so along with the tasty food there was a nice-looking guy behind the counter. I been to a few Manhattan bagels which were good but this one is the worst. First they were all young kids and chitchatting while getting food ready, which I don't mind but pay attention to your orders. Second, they forgot my husband's bagel which was only cream cheese and bacon. He called them and was on the phone for 10 minutes. They picked up and asked if he was being taken care of which he said no then they put him back on hold. He hung up since he was tired of waiting. "NY got a problem" I've been to Manhattan. I've eaten Manhattan begals. These are nothing like Manhattan bagals. These are more like moist kitchen sponges with creamcheese on it. Manhattan beagls up in Manhattan are good because we put that New York twist into every bite. I used to help out at Murray's which I believe are the epitome of Manhattan begals. Murray's bagals are sweet and moist and they melt on your tongue and are made with only the finest ingredients and that famous New York water that's makes it taste so good! read more

I like Manhattan Bagel a lot. The bagel thins and Ranchero Wrap are becoming my working at home staples. Bagels are light with a crisp shell, and the Honey and Almond whipped cream cheese is awesome. I love the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches here. They use a real fried egg and the sandwiches are made to order. Not some powdered egg thing sitting under a heat lamp like you get at a convenience store. I like the bagels and the coffee is good too. The lunch sandwiches are good too and there's a good selection. I always mean to try more of their sandwiches but I always end up getting a bacon egg and cheese because they are so good. The only drawback is its in a converted gas station so there are only like 4 or five tables. Occasionally the service can be a little slow. It can also be hard to get into the parking lot during morning rush hour since its on the corner of a busy intersection. read more

Gave them a second chance in case they were having a bad day. But NOOOOO They are overpriced for the value of the food. Had a ham,egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The ham was extremely salty. This was made even worse by the fact that the other items were so sparse that I felt like I was eating a bagel with salt sprinkled on it. Tried their plain bagel but that was chewy. I thought it would be nice to get some bagels yesterday (Sept 28) for Yom Kippur Break Fast. I checked the website. It indicted hours and clearly stated they closed at 3 pm. I called and got a recording also indicating hours and that they closed at 3 pm and did not take over the phone orders but could order on line or at the window. It was already 2 pm so I just drove there and arrived at 2:20 pm. Drive to the window and was told they were closed - and had changed the hours to close at 2 pm. I said to the person at the window that just a half hour ago both website and phone message said 3 pm and that was why I was there. She said "well we just changed". This is unacceptable. The person at the window should have still served me since it was your error, not mine. I am sure you don't care about losing a customer but you just did. I've never had a worse bagel run in my life. I ordered online, they moved my time to later as I was enroute but no big deal, the line was around the building. I waited patiently, let them know at the speaker my order name to which they replied to pull up. I pulled up to the window to be told it still was not ready, well past the posted time on my online order, and that I would have to park and walk in. I could've just ordered at the speaker like everyone else but ok. Went in, waited again, patiently because I could see they were busy. But again, why have online if ordering at the drive thru speaker would've been faster but here I am. I arrive home to find 4 bagels, a 1/4 of the order, plain, are not in the box. Am I supposed to open the closed box at the counter to check the accuracy? I tried to call the restaurant to see what my options were only to be transferred to GrubHub. I don't want to speak to a company that had nothing to do with my in person order. You cannot call Manhattan Bagel. So, no plain bagels and we got ripped off and my $9.00 sandwich is cold and leaving this review is my only recourse. Today was the last straw. My husband and I usually pick up breakfast from here on the weekends. 4 out of 5 times the order is messed up or they forget to give you something. I know we are foolish for continuing to give them another chance and returning. Today we tried once again. We ordered one breakfast sandwich and one lunch box. The lunch box was given to my husband with just the sandwich being handed to him. They forgot the sides and the "box" itself. He had to inform the teenager at the window that the item he ordered is a boxed lunch and comes with a side and a pickle. She had no idea what the menu was. Also, the sandwiches were both made incorrectly, with the wrong bagels on each. This completely wrong meal cost about 17 dollars and change. The sandwich that was in the lunchbox had a very pungently sour smell. I usually get this meal and I never noticed this before. I truly can't be certain if there was anything wrong with it. It tasted ok but I didn't finish it bc the risk just wasn't worth it, due to the odor. I don't want to make any false claims here, it may have been fine but it really did have a very sour smell. I guess I will find out later! Lastly, the potato salad that I have eaten countless times from here and is usually very good, was absolutely tasteless. My unprofessional opinion is that they completely forgot to add salt and or any seasons when making it. Fountain soda we ordered was also completely flat! I have never written a bad review before. I have just had enough of this place. I'd given this a one star review in August 2010 because, though the food was very good, the place clean, most of the staff was extremely nice, the manager was rude (and to ME, the FourSquare MAYOR of Manhattan Bagel!) and embarrassed me in front of a busy store. On our way to walk Diablo at the park, KT was dying for a bagel and I swallowed my pride, parked in the MB lot, and, thinking no one would recognize me (actually, hoping no one would recognize me, I was wearing baggy sweat pants/sweat shirt, no make up), I ordered a chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese (it is better than it sounds). While waiting, someone recognized me. OMG. And asked if I brought my dog with me. "Uh, my dog was banned." I said. And then, the heavens opened, and a light shone down on a man who left his place behind the register and walked toward me. He lifted his arms and sang, "Praise you, baggy sweat pants girl, and your dog, and the bad review you wrote on YELP." Then, the people working the grill pulled trumpets from below the counter and played while he said, "The person that was rude to you was fired a few weeks after that review. It wasn't just you, she was burnt out, and rude to other people. She needed a change of scenery,and we let her go. Your dog is welcome in Manhattan Bagel." "Who are you?" Someone complained about cleanliness about a year ago; I never saw a problem with that so guess it was addressed (and I'm a germ-a-phobe). I stopped here 1 Day last week and was waiting in drive thru my daughter and I could smell something burning. When they handed me my Bagel I mentioned I could smell something had Burt I hoped it wasn't my bagel and the girl do oh no nothing is burning .. as I pulled away and opened my bagel it was burnt completely. I had to drive back and now go in and the girl behind the counter looked me in the eye and said they all burn a little I told her I've been coming here for about 10 years now and they are never burnt. So reluctantly she made me a new bagel. Thinking it was a 1 time thing I decided to stop today and get 3 sandwiches which we asked to have the bagels toasted and I assumed my expensive croissant would of been warm since it was a hot sandwich. We get the 3 hot sandwiches all 3 were so badly wrapped you could see the bagels or croissant. We then notice the bagels are cold as well as the croissant. Needless to say our order contained 2 drinks 3 hot sandwiches that were cold and I spent $25.00. I'm thinking what use to be a great place has hired the wrong people who seem not to care. This is my favorite bagel shop in town. Great food and an awesome, friendly staff. I've especially gotten to know the store manager, Grace, who always has the place running perfectly and greets me with a smile every time! Exceptional customer service. The employees truly work as a team which is a direct reflection of great store management. I wish all store managers could be as friendly, helpful, and dedicated as Grace- she is a true role model for her co-workers and makes customers want to return. I literally made a yelp account to say what a garbage location this is. Half the stuff on their menu isn't available, the latte machine has been down for weeks. Supposedly they got a new one but they forgot to hire competent staff to operate the thing, so it's still not available. You're better off dumpster diving at McDonalds, at least you might find something edible there. read more

I only recently started frequenting this Manhattan Bagel and I do really like it. The crew is always buzzing around in a controlled chaos with my order coming fast every time. Definitely a great breakfast spot in Chalfont but parking can be difficult at times, and I would recommend fixing some of the pot holes in the parking lot. The new drive through appears to be a potential disaster for what used to be a decent establishment. Tried to find the first point of contact and finally found the window. I was lectured by the guy at the window about how they were like McDonalds and I should use the speaker to place my order. When told I didn't see the speaker, he replied, "it's there by the huge menu board". Then I was told to order bagels I have to call ahead all while trying to hawk the value-pack. Had one of the women working the window step up to write down my order of 1dz everything, 1/2 dz egg, and 1/2 dz cheddar. I paid, was reminded again to give a "3 minute courtesy call", went home and found I had been given a dz plain, no egg, 1/2 dz everything and 1/2 dz cheddar. When we pointed that out to the clear, she just said they had raised their prices. I used to love this place. My family and I used to go there all the time. Recently, I don't know happened. It seems the employees think they can just make up their own order. I can't eat egg yolk for health reasons, so I always order egg white. I'm also a vegetarian and don't eat meat. The past 5 times I've been there, I've gotten full egg on my sandwich when I ordered egg white. A couple of those times the egg white is on someone else's sandwich in my order, someone who wanted the whole egg. Last week, my sandwich FINALLY had egg white on it, only for me to realize it also had bacon on it. The bacon was supposed to go on a different sandwich in my order. This morning, I ordered three sandwiches with egg whites, and 2 of them were supposed to have pork. When I came home, the only one that wasn't supposed to have pork of course had double pork. The other two had nothing. Employees also always seem to forget your hash brown, even though you were charged for it. I don't understand what happened to this place. I used to love it there, but lately it's been terrible. Do I really have to check my entire order every time before I pull out of the parking lot? read more

I am so frustrated with this particular Manhattan Bagel. I live very close and I love bagels. I've been buying from them for years. Well, the last maybe 6 months it's been nothing but horrible. I'm just done. The final straw was another burnt bagel. I do not get how anyone can toast a bagel and not see it is burnt. I can smell it's burnt as soon as they hand it to me. This is not the first, second or third time. I even got paranoid thinking my regular order was recognized and they were taunting me. I don't even pull away anymore without checking. Another pet peeve has been that no napkins were given with my food at the drive in. It's a no brainer if a person is in their car most likely they are going to need a napkin to eat.
