Unfortunately, the fries were absolutely horrible. They tasted extremely stale, to the point that I could not eat them. My pickup was around 1:00 a.m., and rather than leave the convenience of my home and drive back to the restaurant, I decided to contact the restaurant the following morning. When I called, I was rudely greeted by a cook who condescendingly explained that there was nothing he could do because I had not saved the food. I attempted to explain that I had discarded the fries because they were inedible, but he hardly allowed me to speak. I also asked how the restaurant would expect me to preserve food that was stale and uneatable simply to prove that it was stale. I specifically asked how he could determine whether the fries were stale without actually tasting them, and he could not provide me with a reasonable or concrete answer. Instead, he repeatedly insisted that there was nothing he could do. That interaction was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I understand that policies may exist, but there is also a responsibility to treat loyal customers with respect and make a reasonable effort to address legitimate concerns. I have supported this establishment for years, and I should not have been made to feel as though my complaint was insignificant or that I was somehow at fault for discarding food that I could not eat. Loyal patrons are a major reason businesses remain successful, and customers should not be taken for granted. Unfortunately, because of the poor quality of the food and, more importantly, the disrespectful way my concern was handled, I will no longer be patronizing this location. I have been a loyal patron of TJ's for years, and unfortunately, this experience has resulted in the loss of a longtime customer. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses both the food-quality issue and the manner in which customer concerns are handled.
