a plate of tacos and salsa
    Kimberly T.

Visiting Detroit and stayed at the Marriott Southfield. I had dinner at this restaurant which is in the hotel. I need to qualify this because this is the only reason I ate at this restaurant is because of the convenience. I order the taco salad based on a recommendation from a diner. It was pretty okay. The ground beef (taco meat) was not seasoned - it was such a disappointment. The saving grace was the spicy ranch sauce and the tortillas. Both of these made the meal better. Last words: decent hotel food. Very convenient

Not bad for hotel restaurant food. I like their sliders and wings. Not greasy at all I saw other people get club sandwich and they are huge so even the menu is small but the quality is not bad if you don't want to venture out to Southfield to get food late at night since Southfield is not the nicest town in Detroit

Club Sandwich and Chips on White (January 2020)

I stopped by the restaurant/bar around 6:30pm on a Tuesday after flying in from Chicago. I was in the mood for a club sandwich had and they did not disappointed. Sandwich was excellent and the staff warm and friendly. It work about 15 minutes which was fine as I wasn't in a hurry. Everyone else eating there appeared happy with their food.

We tried this place as we were staying on this hotel. Ambiance was good, it was quiet and they had both a full bar and restaurant. Food was excellent! We ordered the cheese dip with pretzels and they were delicious! I ordered the Bayou Shrimp Pasta and the dish was of a good size, cream tomato sauce was very tasty and it had plenty of shrimp. The only pitfall was service. Our server disappeared for more than 10 min every now and then and we had to call other servers to get us drinks or additional items. Other than that, it's a good option if you don't want to drive and stay and wind down.

Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. The large portion of Smoked Salmon Scramble was delicious - fluffy eggs, large chunks of salmon and melted creamed cheese goodness with buttered English Muffin. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.

Walking in, there was very limited seating and about an hour wait, which clearly showed how popular this spot is. Thankfully, the hostess told us about their basement bar area where you can grab drinks and snacks while waiting. The downstairs area had such a cool speakeasy vibe dark ambiance, vinyl music playing, and honestly the perfect date night atmosphere. The drinks were REALLY good, and you can also order appetizers down there. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio martini, and wow definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. Overall, such a great experience from the atmosphere to the food and service. I'll definitely be back, and I've already been telling all my friends about this place!

I worked with Eric Kierszkowski on our menu. We had Vegetarians and guests with food allergies. We also had two guests unaccounted for - and Eric was able to seemlessly provide meals for them. His staff was so efficient and friendly. They showed up early to set up the tables with me and stayed after everyone had vacated to help clean up. The best caterer I have ever worked with. I would highly recommend their services.

Stand at the ABE event 2025 this year…read more Finally decided to try it out, about 6-8 folks in front of us, line moves quickly and food is out quickly too. Ordered 1 of each: Reuben, chicken and crab Rangoon. $21 Took a condiment of each available dressing: sweet chili, ranch, thousand. The Rueben was half empty, had to bite down to half of the roll before getting to any meat. The chicken roll was only about 2/3 full. The crag Rangoon was 2/3 full, mostly cheese, not much krab. The Rangoon was the better of the 3, mostly because it's cream cheese and you just can't beat cream cheese at all. The Reuben and the chicken were both okay. A lot more hype than I would have expected for what I experienced.

The original recipe was passed down to her from mother. Now, she's been featured on the local news 30+ times, and even had a concession stand at Little Caesars Arena. More recently, she won a $10,000 grant from Michigan Women Forward, and is using the proceeds to purchase a second food truck. The menu features 6 egg rolls, garlic parmesan French fries, and regular fries. I tried all of the egg rolls aside from the vegan option, and also the garlic parm fries. The fries had a soft texture and were very cheesy. As for the egg rolls, my personal ranking is below: 1. Jamaican Jerk Chicken 2. Corned Beef 3. Peach Cobbler 4. Cheeseburger 5. Southwestern Chicken The story and concept behind Egg Roll Diva makes it what it is. Simply put, if you don't like egg rolls, than Egg Roll Diva isn't for you. If you do, it's a fun and worthwhile expierence to try them all and compare.
