Cool and cozy stop while visiting downtown and pregaming before a concert nearby! The staff is friendly and professional. Great drinks for the whiskey fans and a great selection of non alcoholic drinks for fans like me! A pleasure to visit and I'll be back soon!

Oh what a great tasting. Chocolate and Spirits! I learned so much about what makes great chocolate. The dark chocolate was my favorite. But the best part were the friends!

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. They have a lovely showroom and marble bar. The tour was good. They are proud of how they do things by hand which is a little silly. But whatever. The tour wasn't the cleanest I've seen (I've done something like 30 distillery tours). On to the goods. You get a menu of like 25 options and get to pick three. I chose the Florida gin which was excellent. Then the barreled gin which was not nearly as good as others I've tasted such as the excellent one from Weldon Mills Distillery in NC. I finished with their Florida Bastard mix which despite the name was quite pleasant. And you can get a bottle too, for a mere $85!!

Finally made it to Manifest Distilling with friends before a hockey game! Since moving to Jacksonville last year, I've enjoyed their canned cocktails at various events around town. It was always on my list to get there, but I honestly didn't realize where it was located. After a visit to Intuition Ale Works, we were excited to see that we know exactly where it is lol! They do have a few parking spots in the back, but we found a front row parking spot (free after 6 pm). The bar was packed on a weeknight, and it was decorated so cute for Christmas! I browsed the menu and went with a mai tai after considering all of the holiday beverages. It was seriously so delicious. Great tiki drink! My boyfriend got a seasonal grapefruit and cinnamon drink, and after trying his, I ordered one for my second drink. For his second drink he got the eggnog, which we both absolutely loved. Self serve water is available, and restrooms were clean. I have a feeling this will be our new spot! Loved it.

Guava milk punch, delicious drink!

Oh my, talk about craft cocktails!! These are lovely creative drinks, I immediately fell in love with the unique recipes! My Guava milk punch had Manifes's gin in it with rum, guava, fennel and oolong tea...I was told this drink takes 5 days to make, they use milk then strain it out so the drink is not cloudy or creamy but the final product is so smooth and balanced, amazing drink!! Only down side was I could have drank 3 of these! We also tried a Gin old fashioned which had big frozen ice cubes filled with pecan, orange and beet juices so as they melted they made the drink better and better, so cool!! Bartenders were experienced and knew their stuff, excellent!

I absolutely enjoyed my time here. You can do a flight of the spirits for $3 per pour they have a variety of spirits vodka, Whiskey, rum, and liqueurs all for sampling. Everything can be purchased at the time of sampling as well as their canned daiquiri mad with rum and vodka mules.

Guava Milk... forgot the rest. really refreshing!!!

Loved our time here. Bar tenders were a blast. Very knowledgeable and fun. Drinks were very good. Atmosphere was chill and establishment was very clean. Hidden gem as it's off the beaten path. But highly recommend.

What a nice outing... my son and I went to Manifest Distilling last night. This awesome place in Downtown Jacksonville makes the most outstanding potato vodka, bourbon, and gin. Several types of each. Truly excellent. They have a great drink menu featuring their products. Last night, Brine was there with a pop up of their fare. We had two different cold water raw oysters which were both outstanding and different in nature. Totally cleaned shells with delicious fresh taste. I had Crudo which was an incredible dish of yellow tail snapper. My son had Roasted Clams. The food was beautiful and wonderful flavors. The chefs were so fun to watch as they were meticulously careful on how they executed each dish. And their attention to detail paid off in outstanding food. Also, the bartender and the crew from Brine couldn't have been any more pleasant. I highly recommend both entities but especially when the operate as one.

Got a Groupon for Christmas and finally made it over with some friends tonight. TJ was our tour guide and lovely. The actual tour was informative and interesting. The drinks we tried at the end were lovely. Only downside, the tasting area didn't have purse hooks!

I have been coming to this place since they opened. It's been great to watch the progression from just a distillery to tasting to a bar to holding events and tailgate parties. The staff that works there is super knowledgeable and super friendly. There's a guy there named TJ who is so wonderfully knowledgeable and so nice about sharing his knowledge with you anytime you have a question. I haven't met a bad staff member in there ever. It's clean, it's kind of interestingly industrial, and they have a kitty that wanders around Greeting the guests. I like to shop there for my home bar, they have some very interesting special concoctions on occasion and the citrus vodka is definitely on point. I mean if you're going to buy liquor you should buy the good stuff that's made locally and keep the money flowing in our local economy. For a couple extra dollars over the junk you get at the Winn-Dixie liquor store, this is head and shoulders above.

Well oh Nick at the bar invited us to stop by while we was next door so we did. This being my first time had to figure out the "play on words" to get a drink. Nick held our hands per say and lead us into a great afternoon's experience. He was very much a conversationalist and fixed me up with the perfect pairing of Grapefruit tonic and vodka. As we visited we got to see a event planning company come in and change the place over for a Birthday event. (Great place for parties) and also watched as a group took a tour. The service for all were friendly and top notch. I definitely have this place now on my list of things to do and since they have the best black cherries in town I will be back for more of those..mmmmmm

Tasting of gin, bourbon and whiskey

Great product, great service and tasty adult beverages. Both of the gins are worth taking home but do try the rye as well as the bourbon blend. Great place to stop before a baseball or hockey game happening nearby. Two thumbs up and would return.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.

It's almost hard for me to write about their cocktails nowadays because they're always so good. I just love the fact that they always have real craft cocktails, not just a minor twist on something that they're charging more for. It's worth noting that they always offer Mocktails and THC infused drinks for the non alcohol drinkers. We didn't try as many things as we usually do but we REALLY liked what we did get a chance to try. Off the top of my head, I'd say the Cabana Boy was my personal favorite. That's the whiskey sour that comes as a pairing in the Twin Palms special. My wife liked everything enough that she didn't have a favorite. If you haven't been to Grey Matter Distillery; go check out this theme because it's a good one. Each time we've visited we have had wonderful experiences. Everyone is always a joy to interact with. Lexi had a large group during our first visit and then just the two of us the second time. Both times we walked out with our favorite spirits and some new ones. The peanut butter whiskey is always a staple and this one is my favorite. We now have a new addition to our must-have collection, mango datil whiskey. I dont even mix these with anything as they are incredibly smooth. Can you? Sure. But why? The spirits also change out and I'm a little sad that the cookie dough whiskey will become seasonal (that one did mix well with the peanut butter and caramel). But the new key lime pie rum was delicious and the coconut rum is another favorite. Was there anything we didn't like? I am not a fan of the roasted pecan whiskey but I can appreciate why others will enjoy it. In our tasting, Lexi swapped that one out for me so I didn't miss out. The care and joy the team has is palpable and a must stop when visiting the St Augustine area. Big fan and we now stop by multiple times each visit to sample and take home our favorites. Im excited to try the new rye whiskey on a future visit. One thing to keep in mind is that the tasting used to be free and now costs $5. Personally, I don't mind since there is a $5 coupon to use in the store that can be stacked so it becomes essentially free but it's a relatively recent change (the same applies to the nearby St Augustine Distillery and San Sebastian Winery). Do I wish that this one was still free? Of course. Will it stop me from visiting? Nope. It just breaks up my purchases so I can apply the cost each time. (And it's much better than the winery which gives you a plastic cup...nice but not really repeatable.) Overall, City Gate continues to be my favorite Distillery for flavored spirits. Thanks for always providing a great experience and product! And thank you to Lexi for being awesome!

Love visiting this location!…read more I've always made sure to make a stop here when I'm visiting St. Augustine. This last visit was no different! Inside is spacious, clean and what's really interesting is that they have informative areas that showcase the distillation process and other fun facts about the distillery! I enjoy coming for their tasting that they offer. While it use to be free of charge local businesses in the area that also had tastings started charging so that makes sense especially with the amount of visitors they get! Luckily it's only $5 dollars and you get a chance to enjoy a variety of their products. There are employees are different stations that give you information on the spirits and mixers they offer while they craft drinks for you to try. We stopped in unexpectedly, signed in without any trouble, and were done in under a half hour. It helped that it wasn't crowded at all and our group of 5 were the only ones on the tasting tour at the time. You get to taste 4 different cocktails made with their various products. The first two were decent, with the second being a step up from the first. The third was our favorite by far, a tiki rum cocktail that actually had a really nice flavor to it. The fourth and final one was a straight vodka pour from an older woman at the last station. She told us that good vodka shouldn't taste like nail polish, which is a bold thing to say right before handing someone a sample that tasted pretty much exactly like acetone. A couple of us couldn't even finish it. The staff overall were super friendly though, and it was genuinely cool getting to go behind the scenes and see all the big machinery in the distillery. Now the gift shop at the end is a different story. Everything was overpriced, and their clearance section was almost insulting, with maybe $2 knocked off the regular prices. We won't be buying any of their products, but for $5 the tasting itself was a fun little experience worth checking out if you're in the area.
