Went to watch the jags game today and the experience today was much improved from my last visit! I had a Bullet Bob IPA that was pretty good! Would totally have it again. I arrived a little bit later than the rest of my group and they had already ordered several apps for the table. I did not come hungry this trip, so I just munched on the boiled peanuts. They were spectacular. The service was wonderful! The employees were all very engaged with the customers. And what a great place to watch the game! An abundance of TVs and what's better than hanging out with fellow jags fans?! Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor options. And just a fun place to be. Our first visit to Strings - thankfully, got lucky with a street parking spot out front 5 stars for the food but had quite a few misses on experience... I loooooved my 1/2 Cathy's salad and $6 pork sandwich (Monday to Friday 4-9PM dine in or to go) You could smell the wood fire walking in, the bun was toasted perfectly and the pickles/pickled onions were awesome!! My husband got the same sandwich with their special side of the day which was loaded mashed potatoes. Now here's where all of the misses start: 1) our friends who ordered immediately after us, got their food after waiting over 15 more minutes past when ours was delivered - they had to check on it 2-3 times 2) my husbands mashed potatoes came out and it they were plain, not loaded - when he asked about it they said they and switched to plain?? I'm assuming they ran out of the toppings (5:30PM). He should have been given the option of a different side instead of being forced one he wasn't interested in or told they were out when ordering 3) we also ordered boiled peanuts with our sandwiches which never came out at ALL. After eating, I went to the register to get a refund and she tried to offer them "to go" - when we had actually ordered them hoping we could eat them as the appetizer they are before our food came out. I let her know we were going to an event and she called someone to the register to refund them which was easy enough - but we had been looking forward to trying them & had been starving before our meal which is why we ordered one of their appetizers. Overall, environment is fun, food is really great and reasonably priced - I'd love to watch a game here or sit on their patio in the fall - but I'm hoping next time improves as we had some frustrating experiences. read more

Beer is solid. Food is usually decent, this visit not so much. Opted for the daily Fish & Chips special. Received a plate packed with fries and on top were 2 of the smallest pieces of fish I had ever seen. Probably the size of 2 medium chicken tenders. The fish was way over fried and the actual fish inside the breading was very tough. Very disappointing for a special that was more expensive than most, if not all other items on the menu. read more

They have a great selection of beers and also provide food, mainly smoked bbq. I had their smoked chicken wings and I highly recommend the dry rub. Strings is an awesome brewery! Hubby and I have been here several times. I love that they serve food. Nothing beats a brewery especially one with good food. Their beer is very tasty! I really enjoy getting a flight here since they have a couple beers I really like. No See Dee and Rookie Mistake are two of my favorites. Their BBQ is pretty good for a brewery. First time at Strings Sports & Brewery as my wife & I are down for the Florida/Georgia game. When you enter there is a side you can order and get food delivered to your table & another side you can order beer & wine. Both sides have people that are friendly and wanting to make your stay a pleasurable experience. From the beer side I had a pint of String Music & Trail Run. Both were clean & fresh with no bitterness. My wife had a Sugar Kings brew and was also a good beer. Food wise we shared 10 smoked wings, Brussels Sprouts & Cajun Fries. The wings were excellent with the Alabama sauce & Hot BBQ sauce. Place has a nice vibe. The area is being gentrified and is turning the corner. I must of passed this place a million times and finally walked in. Honest to god, I did not know it was a brewery and two.. it's a lot bigger than I had imagined! Lots of TVs, a restaurant, and beer... so it lives up to its name. Staff were prompt and had good attitudes. My wife and I live near St. Aug but we wanted to try a new spot. Springfield is pretty far but this place looked cool so we gave it a shot. We went to watch a Gator basketball game and forgot the NFL playoffs were on. The place was pretty full when we got there for an 8PM tipoff. I think the football game started at 730. It's a nice big open space with a bunch of TVs. There's at least 15 in the main room; probably more. I had 2 of the stouts. I don't remember what it was called. They also had the same stout with cold brew coffee but I try to stay away from the caffeine. My wife had the orange sour. She's not a beer drinker but she'll put one or two back. I think they have a 10oz so she had a couple of those. We also got the fries with beer cheese. We thought they were pretty good. A little peppery but good. We don't make it to Springfield often. If we're in the area and there's a game on or we want a drink, this'll be a good fall back. read more
