If I could give them ZERO stars I would. My Mom sent herself a box to the Philippines. She was out there for a few months and when she received her box- it was damaged! They said it would take 45 days, but it took almost 3 months! Horrible!! Anything worth of value was stolen! And some things were portioned (like her laundry detergent) - WTAF! Same thing happened with my aunts box too. Horrible! Just horrible! DO NOT SEND BALIKBAYAN BOXES. It's not safe! My poor aunts/uncles received a box full of junk! I don't think they knew my mom would be there too to make sure the box was going to be delivered. Manila box! So I sent 2 shipment of balikbayan boxes to the Philippines recently in December, 2023 with 2 different companies. Manilabox and LBC. They were both going to the same address and both same size Large Boxes, (Manilabox gives you an additional small box) Both companies gave me the same date and window of time for pick up, here's the difference in service: On the day of pick up: Manilabox called me to give me their ETA so I can expect their arrival and arrived first. (List of items in box not necessary.) They picked up and left. LBC only rang my doorbell when they arrived at my door, ready or not, here they are! Haha. Also, tells me details of items was needed and must be filled out, so it caused minor delay. Manilabox gave me a replacement boxes for my next shipment. LBC did not. Manilabox charged me $10 LESS and LBC $10 MORE. Manilabox arrived on Feb. 14 and LBC arrived 4 days later on Sunday Feb 18. Manilabox delivered my box exactly the way it was shipped. LBC delivered with my box that had new orange tape around it, not sure why that is, so naturally I'm concerned if it's extra protection, or if they made an opening in the box, either way, I don't like that my box was altered without permission and without me knowing. TERRIBLE SERVICE!! I would give zero stars if I could. We called to schedule a pick up, and requested the last pick up of the day - 6pm. We were told they could accommodate this request. Well, on pick up day, they showed up at 11:30 am without any notification. They then called us and asked my husband "well why aren't you here?". We requested they come back at the agreed upon time. They refused. Rochelle in the office said she would have Ricky the manager call us. As of 4 pm, we did not receive a call so we called back. We were assured that Ricky "tried to call us but we didn't answer". We know things happen so we tried to work with the company. The next day my husband was able to make contact with the company and we were assured that we could have a 6 pm pick up time the following Monday. At 6 pm on Monday, no one showed up. We decided to use a different company. Flash forward to Friday of the second week they were supposed to pick up the boxes - someone shows up at my house at 6 pm unannounced (no call prior, no communication at all). Unfortunately I wasn't home and I wouldn't trust this company to take my boxes! Save yourself time and a headache and use a more reputable carrier. read more

If I could give a zero star I would. I heard from my sister and Mom while I was at work that a younger kid named Eli came and picked up 1big box and 2 medium boxes late and also treated them both with rudeness. My mom was also forced to bring the boxes downstairs and the excuse made from the kid was that "I don't have to pick up the boxes where they are at due to policy of the area not having elevators." There are only 12 steps. The kid Eli also mentioned that "any remarks you make are irrelevant". I don't know who this company hires but I hope that they thoroughly do supervision during courier pickups before sending these people out on their own. I was trying to schedule a pick up and when i told HER (same person who picks up the phone) i will not be available on the time she was giving me, she straight up told me to just look for another courier! I was questioning her unprofessianalism and then she hung up on me. I called back and of course my calls were just dropped. a lot has changed since they first started. you just lost me and my family/friends business. I have been dealing with Manila box for over 3 weeks. Their costumer service is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Anne is the person who will answer the phone and she is unprofessional and disrespectful when dealing with concerns or questions. The "manager" is Ricky and he was very helpful at first, but he is now never in the office and we are unable to reach him. When we called, Anne said Ricky was busy and that he will call us back, he never did. Two days later we called again, and Anne said he is out of the office. Two weeks prior to this call, we emailed Ricky and there was no response. I have searched online to reach the General manager, Eugene Antonio, and the phone numbers provided on websites are no longer in service. I called the Cargo company's number provided to ask to speak to Eugene, and of course Anne picks up the phone informing me that Eugene is, "out of the country" and he does not have an extension number that we can contact, nor does Ricky the manager. She also informed me that Eugene does not deal with concerns like this, that only Ricky is the one who can handle them. Yet, Ricky is no where to be seen or heard. The only way to contact anyone in charge is through Anne, and she is not helpful at all. Anne is a rude person with an attitude who will disregard your concerns. She will call you a liar even if there is physical evidence of the issues you have with the company. It seems that they are trying to ignore our situation and will not take responsibility for their driver's mistake. Back ground story: Their driver, Johnny, drove onto our front yard causing rut damage to our property. Anne claimed their is no damage even though she was not present. I sent images to Ricky's email, and he has not responded (it has been 2 weeks). When talking to Anne on the phone today, she said they never received the email, even though I called Ricky after emailing him, letting him know that I sent it and making sure he received it. After many phone calls, Anne told us that Johnny has to pay for the damages, but why is it our responsibility to contact their driver, when we don't have his phone number, so he can pay for the property damages? Anne was literally arguing with us on the phone on multiple occasions. I will not stop calling until we have received justice for the damage that their driver Johnny has caused to our lawn and until I receive an apology from Anne for her disrespectful behavior and unprofessionalism. The Driver Johnny drove onto our front lawn and was stuck there for 3 hrs. A tow truck driver had to be called to tow out the truck. Johnny asked us to call a tow for him, because he, "had no money to pay for a tow". When I called my AAA service, they said they could not tow the Manila box truck, because it is a commercial vehicle. How is this even professional to ask the customer to call a tow truck for your company's driver? A tow truck finally arrived for Johnny, the AAA worker questioned Johnny's commercial truck license, because of the damage Johnny caused and almost hitting the tow truck when backing out of the drive way. Johnny drove the truck onto the front yard after days of rain, when the soil is extremely soft. When Johnny got stuck, he kept digging the truck tires deeper into the soil causing the cargo box to be completely stuck in the mud, and digging deep holes into our yard. It seems that Manila Box will hire people who have zero experience. This company does not care about their customers. There is a lack of communication, responsibility, professionalism, and a lack of training for both their drivers and their costumer service. read more

I call to follow up and they always tell me it's takes 90 days because it's Christmas season. Manila Box people they have no idea where and when the boxes will get delivered. Need to send a balikbayag box back to the Philippines? We just sent one, a 20" by 20" box with no weight restrictions, back to the Philippines for... what was it... $75. They provided the box, picked it up from our house, and bound the box for shipping all for that one price. Not bad. Now, we just have to wait and see how long it takes for the box to get there... Maybe they'll get 5 stars, maybe they'll lose 1 or 2... Almost forgot, the appointment for pick-up was between 10am and 12pm (noon), they were here at 10:30am. Worst customer service. scheduled pick up is 8-10am on Monday, I called to confirm but no answer despite several attempts. My husband and keep calling the number but no answer so he left at 10am. At 1:37pm, I got a call from Manila Box that the guy is in the driveway to pick up our box. I said sorry my husband is not there anymore, he waited for 2 hours, he was late with his appointment. He apologized and told me that the office will call me to reschedule. A lady called me and rescheduled on Friday at 4-6pm, the lady is rude, insist that we were not there on our first pick up. Despite explanation she keep insisting that they don't have control of traffic. I told her that we also has something to do. On Friday, she called at 3:05pm to cancel the appointment, according to her the car is already full, more pick up than expected on it's previous pick up. She again said that last time, we didn't wait when their guy is late only for 30 minutes. I corrected her, late for over 3 hours . I called my husband about the cancellation. At 3:34pm, I got a call from same lady, she said the guy will go pick up and we have to wait from 4-7pm. I ask for the number of the person picking up so I can get more accurate time because we can't be waiting for 3 hours. She said they can't give the number but we have to wait. When I talk to my husband, he said please cancel because we can't want for 3 hours. I texted the number letting the lady know to please cancel pick up because my husband take the earlier cancellation and decide to do something else, nobody will be there to meet the guy. At 4:28 the lady called and telling me that the guy is there to pick up. I said sorry but nobody is there. She insist that the guy can take the box without us. I told her how can that be nobody is home, she said just give some money to the driver then. I said nobody is home. My girlfriend boxes was picked 3rd week of September and my boxes were on October 11, 2022. My girlfriend boxes didn't arrived till December 28 and my boxes still weren't deliver yet. Amazingly fast, reliable service! This is my first time using Manila Box and I am very pleased with their service. My boxes were picked up at my address in San Francisco on May 8, 2019. I was told that it will ship to the Philippines on May 17, 2019 and will take approx 1 month. My boxes were delivered June 19, 2019 to the destination address in Manila, Philippines. It took just a month and 2 days for my door-to-door to arrive! I have used other shipping companies before (Johnny Air Cargo, six months ago) and based from my recent experience, Manila Box is not only the best but also the best shipping prices. Last 2015, I sent a box thru Manilabox and it took 2 months to arrive to the receiver. I used this company again. They said that the cargo will leave Friday that is why I readily have my box picked up on Wednesday (2nd week of December 2016). Today, February 2017, I called the Manilabox for the status of the delivery to the Philippine destination. However, Manilabox stated that it will not be delivered until second week of February. It took two months again! If you expect your box to be delivered in a month, used other cargo companies. Otherwise, you will not get your package as expected. I found out about Manila Box when I saw a blurb about them on an evening news show, that featured the fact that they're waiving all their fees to people who are sending packages to Philippine victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Very admirable, I thought, especially since all the other major cargo forwarders in the Bay Area aren't even doing anything of this magnitude to help their fellow Filipinos - the very same people who are instrumental in making their businesses successful. I used Manila Box' service last week when I sent a package to a non-profit animal welfare agency to the Philippines. Inside the box are much needed supplies for the animal victims: collars, leashes, muzzles. I was told that I unfortunately just missed their cut-off period for air shipment by 1 day, so the package will be sent in a week instead. Oh well, too bad, I thought! Imagine my surprise when I received an email from the director of the non-profit saying they already received the package, and was able to use the supplies the same day because there were several hundred pets that they recently rescued who can really use the supplies. Yay! Thank you very much, Manila Box, you have no idea how much good you just did for those who can never personally thank your company's principals, the ones who made this happen. I found this accidentally as I was looking for a place to eat. Needless to say, I bought a box, filled it with stuff and sent it. The entire waiting game took only about 40 days and my friend in the Philippines told me that the people who delivered the box were very courteous, pleasant and even apologetic. I paid $48 for a 20x20x20 box, which was a bargain indeed! I will definitely use their service again. I didn't find a website for this, but the one with a website in the same area that charged me $65 hasn't delivered my box yet; and it's been 49 days! Christmas is two days away! read more

I am a loyal customer for Manila Box for 15+ years. Recently, there were one filipino guy that kept complaining about the boxes being too heavy!! According to the company, there is no weight limit for the boxes. Then, another guy complaining about the stairs being too steep and keeps asking for incentives. For the last 2 years these 2 guys keep on complaining about the "heavy boxes". I've never experienced this from this company. I was about to avail my Loyalty Reward last Month and I've been advice to just avail it next month as the bulilit box is not included so we followed as we've been advised. I called today for pick up and inform them that I will avail my Loyalty rewards finally I've been informed that they no longer do it and it only extended till January so i said can I just send it in the office ? We are expecting the box to arrive after 29 days but my family in Philippines did not receive anything so I decided to call the US Burlingame, CA office. My 5 boxes were picked up on May 22, 2015 (invoice number 105013), I was told that the boxes will arrived last wee of June. Before I left San Francisco I called Manila Cargo Office tel 510-887-2858 and they told me the cargo will arrive Manila on July 2, 2015. I arrived Philippines on June 28, 2015. I followed up the 5 boxes in Manila office, talked with Evelyn several times ( tel no 727-5331). All my pasalubong, personal belongings, treats were in the boxes. I talked with Evelyn on July 14 and she told me that my boxes will be delivered on July 15 or 16 . NO DELIVERY IS DONE UNRELIABLE..... I called US office of Manila Box telling that I need my boxes and tomorrow is my birthday celebration while Im here in the Philippines. My sister send a balikbayan box the same time my 5 boxes were pick up my Manila Box Cargo. My sister's was delivered in our house in Paombong Bulacan on June 26, 2015 through ALAS Cargo.
