I usually thread my eyebrows in Hicksville. They are clean and affordable. I found myself nowhere near Hicksville last week so I decided to try Manisha. She was friendly enough but her performance isn't anything that would make me drop my usual spot, even if I don't live hear Hicksville anymore. But the price?! Insane to me, especially when compared to my $6 threading that I am used to. And I literally laughed out loud reading Becca's comment from a few years back-"who cares that she doesn't wash her hands? She isn't required to!" It's just plain NASTY and UNSANITARY for anyone not to wash their hands after touching people's faces! Who cares if she isn't "required to" according to NYS? The no hand washing and the $12 cash only price is more than enough for me to stick to Hicksville. read more

Avoid. She is a highly unprofessional and prejudiced woman. I would give 0 stars if able. I have had my eyebrows threaded 3 times by this woman- first 2 times went great, which is why I continued with her and would travel 20 minutes out of my way. The 3rd time, I noticed one eyebrow seemed thinner than the other. When I pointed this out, she immediately became defensive and then proceeded to make prejudiced remarks- "Are you Indian? Indians always complain." I will be looking for another threading place- not because of the eyebrows, but rather because of her disgusting attitude. Very disappointing. read more

I love Manisha. Not only does she do a great job, but she doesn't rob you in the process like other local threading places. Her place is quaint, not exactly posh or top of the line, but it is definitely clean. Other reviewers are complaining that she doesn't wash her hands before threading; if you're so concerned about it then you should ask her to, but according to NYS regulations she isn't required to do so to thread eyebrows. Manisha is intuitive, she'll give you a break when it seems like you're in pain and give you complimentary aloe lotion to reduce redness afterwards. Cash only! read more

Ive gone to Manisha a few time but I will never go again. The last time I was there I sat down in the chair and manisha began threading. She kept telling me I wasn't pulled the skin above my brows the right way and asked me to adjust. I did and it still want good enough. She then attempted to bend my arm in an unnatural position and I told her that hurt. She then told me I have to pace my finger right on my eyelid to stretch the skin and that was uncomfortable as well. Plus I had makeup on and did not was to ruined it nor did I want to put my fingers near my eyes. She then rushed finishing my brows and they looked terrible. I just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for eyebrow threading near my new home in E Northport I asked around even in Ulta and they weren't much help happened to see Manisha's threading driving by and took a chance and she took my and she was amazing I highly recommend Manisha's if you like your eyebrows threading she's the real deal read more

Manisha is fierce! Hailing from Brooklyn, one of the biggest hassles you have to face when you move to a new place is how to figure out where to get your basic beauty needs. Looking online, I tried to find a place closeby that does eyebrow threading, and found Manisha on Jericho Turnpike. She was quick and it was virtually painless. She trimmed my eyebrows - but after going to several places in Bklyn/The City, I have found that many threaders leave a hair or two behind - which is annoying because if you are paying for a service, it should be done right. After getting home after my visit at Manisha's, I armed myself with my tweezers as usual, and lo and behold, to my amazement, I actually put my tweezers down. Flawless. Perfectly trimmed and not a hair was missed. I will follow her around till the day she retires (or moves very, very far away). Thanks! read more

I am disgusted at the way the owner reacted today. I told her that my brows were uneven last time I was there and she freaked out on me.. I told her I understood cause,there were a lot of people in the shop at the time waiting for her. Well she insisted that they grow that way. I told her even my husband noticed they were very uneven and they were never like that but it wasn't a big deal, could she just try to even them out. She then shoved me back into the chair and angrily shoved the thread into my FACE showing me how my brows were uneven. I said YES, THAT'S FROM LAST WEEK. she then became aggressive and said something under her breathe and told me to hold the mirror and look. I said yes I looked at them all week waiting for them to grow back. She,freaked out and said she won't service ME!!. I'M SOO done. The fact she couldn't admit she,messed up (it wasn't the first time)was really ridiculous. I felt like I was arguing with a child. And then the temper tamtrum. Ridiculous. I went around the corner and paid 7.00 instead of 10 and got a way better service. Plus the new place is clean and they wash their hands! read more

This place is shit. She does whatever she wants and mishapes eyebrows especially when she's "tired". Worst, telling her she made a mistake and took off random hairs from the end of an eyebrow is useless because she denies and makes shit up. Wouldn't come here if you paid me. Prior to my experience today I had been a loyal customer of Manisha's for about ten years, since the day she started this location at $8 an eyebrow threading. The price was not the driving motivation more so the quality of service- well let me tell you that is DEFINITELY not the case anymore. I relocated to NJ once I got married but still only came to Manisha's whenever visiting my family. During my last visit I explained like I always do, please leave the thickness, define the arch and just clean them up- to which she always says I know, she told me this time that the price was $12- I quickly responded no problem because it truly wasn't. To my surprise when I got it the chair my brows were thinner put with a less than noticeable arch- when I brought this to her attention she quickly got defensive- I explained to her where I didn't like it and she continued to talk over me and get loud. When paying she turned around and told me that maybe I should find a better eyebrow place in NJ if I wasn't happy. This is the most disgusting example of customer service I have ever seen- a ten year loyal customer who has brought you other customers- that's what you say?? As we went back and forth she had the nerve to tell me that the reason I was complaining was because she now changed the price to $12, which I find laughable because I truly had no problem paying the price as long as the service was good. If I could give zero stars it would better reflect my experience. Needless to say I highly doubt she will stay in business much longer with that attitude- stay away, unless you want a threading you didn't want along with a rude attitude. read more

After Having some bad service performed on my eye brows at Femina, I decided to give Manisha a try for threading because of the great reviews. I'm glad that I did. She really is amazing at threading and shaping eyebrows. You can walk in with craziness and walk out like a celebrity. I have yet to find someone who does such a great job. The only problem I have is her availability. It is extremely terrible. The hours on the door or incorrect. She is rarely there and if you are running a business it would make sense to have accurate hours and actually be there when it's time. I wish she was more punctual. read more

The first time I went to her I had let my eyebrow grow out after a bad experience with waxing, where my brows were left uneven. I gotta say this place isn't that bad. I recently moved to commack from the northern Virginia area where there is treading places every where. She is really quick and the waiting time wasn't that bad. She left my eyebrows looks good. A week later they still have a good shape. The only down side is I paid $10 for it but it could be bc I'm used to paying $6 in Virginia. Their hours seen a little bit odd too but I would go back there. read more

I wanted to write an update on this review because although Manisha does an amazing job on my eyebrows, she does't really do a good job of keeping consistent hours at her salon. She's supposedly open from 10am to 6pm but she usually strolls in whenever she feels like it and it can be really frustrating to people who run their lives on a schedule. It's very annoying to set time in your day to get your eyebrows done and then you show up but she's not there even though her hours say she is. First of all, i give this ZERO (0) stars, BUT yelp insist I give at east one. I have been a loyal customer of Manisha for over 3+ years. I Today, this changed. I am truly shocked at Manisha's actions and performance today. Really, I was! Today when I went to get my eyebrows done by Manisha I specifically told her how I wanted them. I have very thick eyebrows and simply asked for them to be cleaned up & to make sure she didn't get do them too thin. Well, after she threaded my right eyebrow ONLY, like always, she showed me her progress. IT WAS HORRID!!! It was really the worst job she or anyone has ever done on my eyebrows in a looong loooooooooong time. It had absolutely no shape and it was super thin to the point where even if i did have her shape them, they would disappear. She tried to justify this by telling me that I had no shape to begin with and wanted to try to shape them and went on to show me how she wanted to continue threading it even thinner. At this point both my eyebrows were noticeably different. So , I told her to only very lightly thread my left eyebrow to make the difference look slightly unnoticeable. She appeared to have taken offence to request. After all, she was my eyebrow lady for forever! She quickly rushed me out of the chair to get her next customer in. I paid her for her service in full since After leaving her store i called her and kindly expressed that I was not satisfied with my eyebrows and how they look very bad. I called vs. expressing my feelings in person because I wanted to be courteous and did not want her other customers to hear or see why i was dissatisfied. After all, she was my go to eyebrow lady for some time. My mistake. And this is where my problem with Manisha begins! She replied to me in a very strong argumentative manner. She in a very angry tone told me that I should go to her store because she could not remember who I was and continue to say that I was crazy. Which, is already strike one for unprofessionalism. I went back per her request and she totally humiliated me in front of all of her other customers the moment i walked in her door. She yelled at me while she working on a someones eyebrows and went on to say that I am crazy & that all i wanted was a free service from her. Which is not by all means my intentions. Besides, it only $10 for eyebrow threading & if i did not want to dish out $10 then i simply wouldn't have gone to her!! After Manisha yelling and belittling me & not letting me get one word in, she kicks me out insisting my intentions were to get a free job and kicked me out of her store saying she doesn't want to even look at me. As I was walking out, another one of her customers walked in. Manisha then proceeds with this customer that just walked, and began following me out to my car and started pointing me out as I screaming that out of 600 customers she has, i am the only unhappy one and I am trying to get a pass on her. I was baffled by Manisha's reaction because I NEVER expected to see this side of her. Especially because i was not just some random customer who walked into her salon for the first time. I understand that we all have our days, but as a business owner and a person that deal with people daily, this is unacceptable. Beware the owner has anger issues. When I left the salon, the owner chased me out of the building because she thought I slammed a door in her face. (I didn't the wind just slammed the door shut). Very disappointed because she is talented, but very rude service. Will never go back. read more

Manisha fixed my mismatched eyebrows over 2 months and does a fabulous job on every visit. She has a good hand.

Manisha and her staff is below average. They also discriminate based on color. She did not do my hair do as promised and I was told that Asians do not tip well. I was disappointed and really upset. She plainly turned me down. Very sad since she is asian herself. read more

Upsetting that my first yelp review will sadly have to be from this awful experience I had today. Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated today at this place simply because I asked for my eyebrows to be touched up again. Manisha who seems to be the owner of this business suddenly begins to say they are fine in a rude and annoyed tone. She stubbornly had me hold the mirror to my face and had me show her where exactly she needed to touch up. I've never had someone blow up simply by saying to fix a specific area that needed a touch up. As I'm looking in the mirror she rushes me out saying "I have to go" with an eye roll later. I was appalled by her behavior and responded by saying how horrible it is for her to speak to a client in this manner. Now let's not ignore we are paying $10 for this service which let's be honest is on the high end. She even said she doesn't want me back, I mean disgusting.
