Ricky stuck around for us and we had the most pleasant time. She even ended up tinting my mom's brows and let me explain - my mom doesn't let ANYONE touch her face typically. But with Ricky? She was totally calm, cool, and collected...And now her brows look great! For me Ricky threaded and explained what to buy to grow my brows back in since I currently have microblading. I found a place near by my house for eyebrow threading and decided to give it a try. When we arrival, my child needed the restroom, and an Indian woman told us to be careful not to let the child urinate nearby, otherwise, she would have to clean it up. My boy and I were surprised by what she said. Nonetheless, I continued to have my eyebrows threading. After it was done, she asked me to check, and I even had to use a tissue to clean up the fallen eyebrow hairs myself. They charged me $20 and there was no service. I was in the middle of running errands in the Plainview shopping Centre and happened to see eyebrow threading on the window. After I went food shopping I dropped off groceries and knew I needed them done. So I checked yelp and decided to give it a shot! So glad I did ~ it's like it was meant to be! You have to walk through the salon to the downstairs because she is a separate business. There is one chair and Ricky. She took a stick to show me how uneven my eyebrows were! I was very happy to see that- anddd she explained to me everything and how to grow them where they should be. Not only was she so great with that but she also said to not touch them until I go back to her. Also if I'm in the shopping center next week to stop by and show her the progress of growth with the serum. Very helpful! It's not your $7 eyebrow job. Your paying $18+ but it's worth it! read more

I've no idea why this place has good reviews. I really wanted to believe I found an amazing eyebrow place. It has to be the worst eyebrow job I've ever gotten done. I had let them grow out for 2 months prior to going to Ricky's, so she can fix it. My brows were uneven -- had different thickness, started at different places (one up, one down), one curved while the other arched, and had areas missing in the MIDDLE of the brow. Also, not sure what the other reviews are talking about when they say she is nice. She kept talking about how she is the best in the area, has people flying in just for her, etc etc. I was of course a little skeptical to try a new place, especially before an event. I gave myself a 2 week leeway, but it wasn't enough to somehow fix the mess. I'm happy she likes to leave the brows "thick," otherwise I wouldn't have been able to fix it even a bit. If you still want to try this place based on the other reviews, at least don't try her for the first time before any important event. read more

Tried Ricky's for the first time today. Will admit that I thought she did just an OK job. She def was very nice and did give me her number so I could call next time, since I arrived during my lunch time. I was trying a new eyebrow place Bc my usual spot is too far and I just do not have the time to travel. I guess my biggest turn off was the price. After getting my eyebrows and lip done, Ricky told me the price was $25?!? I'm sure she could tell from my facial expression that I was a bit dumbfounded. At that point she did say for new clients she charges $15 (not sure if that was true or not) but I paid and went about my day. I didn't think the job she did warranted the price. My normal place charges $17 for eyebrow and lip so I'm not cheap by any means but $25 seemed a big astronomical to me. Will probably never return based on the price only. read more

I scheduled an appointment the same day & she was able to accommodate. Parking was a breeze (located in Plainview Shopping Centre). One of the first things I noticed when I walked in, was the serene, spa-like atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed. Ricky greeted me warmly and let me know she would be with me shortly, as she was finishing up with another client. I noticed that safety practices were employed (masks & antibacterial solution on the counter). I waited less than 5 minutes and we were done in no time. Ricky is an artist! Her work speaks for itself- and it was well worth the price- twenty-something $. She does an incredible job shaping eyebrows to perfectly frame your face, and the threading was not painful. I have the most unruly eyebrows ever. They are thick and grow in different directions. I've had bad experiences with almost every eyebrow lady I've been to. No one knows what to do with my brows. They either make them too skinny or remove too much eyebrow hair and make them look uneven. When I ask for an arch I've gotten the infamous "surprised all the time" eyebrow Ricky was a godsend! My eyebrows have never looked better. She truly listens and takes her time. It took me a little over a month for my eyebrows to grow out but she gave me such a great shape. I was very disappointed. Ricky is rude. I made an appointment, she looks me up and down when I get there and she is finishing the girls eyebrows before me. So I wait, no problem. As the girl is leaving she tells the girl how beautiful she is and goes on and on. i don't really think anything of it. I am so thankful for Ricky. She's the only consistent and reliable eyebrow tech I've ever been to, and I've been to many. I spent a month and a half growing my brows out so that she could make them 100% perfect but unfortunately had to settle for someone else before seeing her. I spent $20 at a boujee "brow bar" and my eyebrows were totally messed up. I let them grow out for two weeks and Ricky made them as perfect as possible. She does an excellent job on her own and then listens to what you have to say too, because of course we see certain imperfections on ourselves and have certain peeves that other people couldn't possibly know.
