When I arrived their computer system had crashed and they needed to reschedule me. I explained my situation, that I needed a prescription and I wouldn't be able to wait another 6 weeks. They got me in with another doctor to give me a prescription until I could be rescheduled. The new doctor I saw was very thorough, explained concerns he had and why he was doing what he was. He consulted with another doctor when he had questions. In the midst of a very stressful day, all the MOA at the desk had a very cheerful attitude and were very kind and compassionate. All in all, I was very pleased with my experience here, and feel confident about the care I will receive.

So, I decided to show up in person to book the appointment for my kids, and I happen to see the pediatrician himself at the front desk and told him we have not been able to book the kids in to see him because his calendar is full months on end and he turned around and asked the nurses "what calendar?" and they all sat there speechless. I always arrive about 10 minutes early and usually get admitted to a treatment room either before or very close to my scheduled time. Dr. T is very thorough and takes whatever time is necessary for your care. I know some people may have doubts about the clinic location. It is not the best area in town, in fact I walked the beat as a cop there many years ago and have many fond memories of the neighborhood and the people there. Realizing that the family doctor I had for 35 years, was nearing retirement, I began the search for a new doctor. I honestly feel like finding Dr. T was like winning the lottery. It's a little difficult to find if you're not used to the area. You can get to the clinic by walking through the very busy and crowded Shopper's Drug Mart. Forewarning - some of the clientele is sketchy. Hold your purses close and hide your devices. I had someone who was clearly high lingering around seemingly stalking me. I walked into the clinic without an appointment and it was madness. The girl at the front desk was stressed while some ignorant man was yelling at her. Being an admin or receptionist is a thankless job at times. I don't know what people hope to achieve by yelling at staff. It just makes things worse for everyone else involved. I was advised the wait would be at least 1.5 hours. So I went next door to Shoppers and got an older prescription filled. That took way longer than it should have. I was told the wait would be 30 minutes but I waited over an hour. I'll be leaving a scathing review for Shoppers next. Once that was finished I wandered back into the clinic next door. Imagine my surprise that it was completely empty. The girl at the front desk managed to get me in with zero wait time and I was in and out of my appointment in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Ghitter-Mannes does! I worry for the day she retires as I will never find another GP as great as her. The office staff are also professional, organized and polite. Dr GM is always on time, unlike many clinics/docs and this isn't because she rushes you or doesn't allow you to ask questions. Overall, I am so appreciative of Forest Heights Medical and will continue to make the long drive across the city to continue to use this clinic for as long as they'll have me. Thankfully I have not many severe health problems but anything I've had to deal with has given me utmost confidence that I have an experienced, caring family doctor and organized practice to coordinate my care should something happen.
