I also want to confirm what happened with my husband's fish order because I was sitting there and heard the conversation myself. Before ordering, my husband specifically asked the server about the price of the fish. I clearly heard her say **$15, $16, and $17**. My husband even questioned the price because my meal was quoted at about **$31** and our friend's meal was about **$28**, so he wondered how the fish could be less expensive. At no point did I hear the server explain that those prices were **per pound** or that the fish he selected would end up costing **$77.52**. Had that been clearly explained before he ordered, my husband would not have ordered the fish. The two meals I was paying for were quoted at approximately **$31 and $28**, or about **$59 before tax and tip**. My final card charge was **$90.15**. My husband's fish was billed separately at **$77.52**. When the issue came up over the price of his fish, I ultimately paid for his meal as well because I did not want the situation to escalate. We went there to enjoy an evening out, not to argue over a restaurant bill. For me, the biggest issue was communication. If a customer specifically asks the price before ordering, especially for an item priced by weight, that should be clearly explained before the order is placed so the customer understands approximately what the final cost will be. Clear communication about the pricing would have prevented this entire situation.
