Just some feedback. Walked into a place for a haircut today. Have been there before as place being going to shut down. Well got no acknowledgement today from anyone in there. Sat and waiting to at least be ask or acknowledged by people there. Nothing. Couple people walk in and couple walk out Still nothing. 2 of the staff go and siting down, after finishing the customers in their chair, grab their phone. I walked out and won't be back. If you are in a service business, you should strive to go beyond simply being polite and genuinely help your customers. Arrived on my scheduled time for the first available stylist. The old lady asked me what type of haircut I wanted and then refused to do it. Even though I had the same haircut done by another stylist at the same place. I asked if I could get someone else to do the haircut, but she refused, saying they were too busy. I don't know how they've managed to stay in business for this long. I encourage people to avoid going to this place. This place has a bad vibe. read more

The barbers (hair stylists) have all been there for years, A place where everyone knows your name! A place people love going to to discuss/debate sports! No matter where you move to or go on vacation to when you walk into Manny' s it feels like home! So many great memories throughout the years and great people that go there from all over! The remodeling came out phenomenal! People stop in during the seasons to discuss sports, say happy holidays or just hang out. The Vibe FORGETTA ABOUT IT, THIS IS THE BARBER SHOP THAT THEY PUT IN MOVIES! Manny planted his roots in Monroe over 30 years ago before Monroe was a destination location for families, schools etc he is one of the people that helped make Monroe what it is today, along with the Late Great Lino D from Venezia which used to be a few stores down! Many's son Keith and the great barbers will keep the tradition going if Manny ever decides to retire which I doubt. read more

First off I'd like to say that I've have been a customer at Manny's for about 3 years prior to this incident with very little issues. Small issues have happened like a barber forgetting to use shaving cream on my neck resulting in razor burn. However today's haircut experience was by far the worst. I was a walk in customer on Saturday 12/21/2019 at around 3:35PM (about an hour before closing). The place was pretty crowded however only about three - four other customers were ahead of me for a haircut. I sit down to wait and several other customers arrived after me. Some had appointments which I understand but others were walk-ins as well and were serviced before me. At around 4:15PM a barber asked if I was waiting for a particular barber, and I responded that I wasn't. He seemed somewhat surprised that I'd been waiting so long and he agreed to cut my hair. The haircut was fine up until the very end when the barber cut the skin on the back of my neck with a straight edge razor. Being the last customer of the day, it's understandable that the barber may have been in a rush to leave and was distracted. However, the barber nor the owner offered an apology. The barber handled the cut to my neck correctly, and I stood up to pay. When paying, the owner (Manny) was standing next to the register. I had to use $2.00 in quarters to pay for the haircut and be able to tip the barber in bills. When I reached for the quarters the owner chuckled and appeared annoyed that I had to use quarters for payment. This whole situation is unfortunate because overall my experience has been good at Manny's. However today showed a very unprofessional atmosphere and I will not be returning. read more

GET FRESH AT MANNY'S!! Manny's is a fantastic barbershop. The waiting area can sometimes be crowded, however it never seems like a long wait. All the guys and the one female (Tina) are friendly and do a great job. Before finding Manny's I've been to other barbershops in the area and never was completely satisfied. One great thing about Manny's is if you're not particular of who cuts your hair you'll never wait long. They have 5 - 6 barbers to choose from and they're all fantastic. From normal cuts to fades and skin fades they can do it all. I've been going to Manny's for quite a while and because of that I don't even need to tell the barber (Dan) what type of cut I'm looking for. He just knows what to do. Manny's is the best place in the area to get a cut hands down, just moved into the area from NYC and this is ten the the service for less than half the cost! First impression... something unsettling about walking into a room full of young men that looked like they just auditioned for the banjo scene in Deliverance. Anyway, got led into the back partition where they apparently shoehorned an extra chair into the area by the toilet where the barbers like to eat lunch. Not sure what was worse...sounds and smells from the toilet or the ones from whatever these guys were having for lunch. The haircut was OK I guess but took the guy forever to finish. I was tempted to let go with some back wind to speed him up and counterbalance the food odors. But behaved after realizing the guy had a pair of scissors in his hand. Confusion at checkout. Their website advertises $15 cuts. Rang me up at $20 until I protested. All in all, they are probably just as glad as I am never to return. Do yourself a favor. Go up the road half a mile to Matt & Louie's instead. read more

There are many types of Grinches around the holidays, and Manny's has its very own in the form of the Old Man (who I assume is the owner). The Grinch literally closed the door in my 9 year old son's face on Christmas Eve with a few minutes to spare before 3pm. The younger barber looked confused but willing to take my son but was overruled by the Grinch. I get that it was Christmas Eve, and that everyone wants to go home but you're in the SERVICE industry. My son's haircut would have taken less than 5 minutes, and would have gone a long way in customer service etiquette. Never again. We drove up the road to Frank's. Guess what? It was AFTER 3pm, and they were closing but they know how to accommodate a customer. They made the start to Christmas extra special. I guess I'm the first to review this place? That seems strange - not enough yelpers in Monroe I suppose. The short version: They're good at cutting hair, but they SUCK at customer service. Anyway, I've been here twice now. Here's a description of my first experience: I walk in on a saturday morning, no one even says hello to me even though there are two people at the register (nice!). I chatted with another guy waiting with his son who is also weirded out by a barbershop that doesn't even say hello when you walk in. I decide to stay, more so just because I'm desperate for a haircut. It's my turn and I think it's the owners (Manny's) son who cuts my hair. He sort of says hello, asks me how i want it cut and then ignores me completely for the next 20 minutes while he cuts my hair. I'm OK with this only because he did a very good job cutting my hair, and after all, im there for a haircut not for conversation. Seriously though, it can't hurt to be a bit friendlier to your clients. The Italian brothers who cut my hair in D.C. when I was little would be rolling in their graves if they saw how these guys treated clients. Again, good cuts though. read more

I am particular about my barbers. When I moved to Trumbull Ct 8 yrs ago , I asked and was told that the best barbershop around is Manny's . I went there to try it out and had such a great experience , I have been a customer since then. I typically go to Manny, the owner for a haircut every two weeks , but have also had my hair cut by Keith and Danny. They are professional , friendly and most important give a great haircut at a reasonable price. read more
