Awesome experience! Best price I was able to find in the SFV Valley. Manny and his team are true professionals! I came in with a transmission issue on my 95 GMC. After explaining to Manny that I have to manually shift the car (I drive an automatic) Manny and I went on a test drive and Manny explained that my transmission was skipping second and staying in third gear. He told me not to worry that he'll get it all fixed and shifting like new in no time. I brought it in on a Friday and by Monday my truck was finished and ready to go! I just had a full automatic transmission rebuild done for my 1998 Dodge Dakota 5.2L work truck and am very happy with the results. My truck was throwing code P0783 indicating that the 3-4 shift was having problems and I also noticed my transmission struggling upon acceleration, particularly when entering freeway onramps. I found this shop here on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Armando the mechanic is a good natured and honest guy who is very knowledgeable and thorough. He tested my truck and then went over my options which was to either replace the solenoid for $350, or rebuild the entire trans. Considering the high mileage on my truck, I opted for the full rebuild and I am glad I did. It ended up costing me less than $2000 all in all including the kick down cable which I also needed and included a year of warranty. It took less than a week for the job to be finished. Now my work truck is running like brand new and I am so glad that I chose to come to Manny's. I highly recommend that you try here for all your transmission needs. My Third Generation 4Runner had a check engine light come on for transmission solenoid replacement, a new trans filter and oil. I called Manny's for information and Armando was friendly and helpful. He gave me a fast appointment and completed all the repairs one month ago. While inspecting my car Armando noticed the U-joint was bad and causing a major crank every time I shifted into Drive, so he quoted me a reasonable price and fixed that for me within a week too. Today I went to mannys after going to 2 mechanics who quoted me over priced transmission rebuilds and replacements. I told manny what I thought the issue was being the transmission. He immediately took the car for a test drive. After driving the car he told me that the issue wasn't the transmission and he took my car for a couple of hours and told me he would call me when it was ready. Ladies please never go to the first mechanic you see. No Armando (owner) did not scam me out of a transmission job he is completely honest with his customers I am so happy that I found an honest mechanic to diagnose and work on my car. When I drove away the gnarly sound was not present. My car finally shifted again and drive like a new car rental :) so amazed by his work. The problem wasn't transmission but the tire bearings who would of known Armando gave me a great price and also serviced my transmission for me ;) an amazing honest man 100 percent agree to go to him even if it is out of your way because a lot of the mechanics in and around LA are looking for a come up. I called Manny's Transmission because my car was losing power and the gears were slipping. Manny asked me to have the car towed to his shop. He called me the next day and verified that it was the transmission. The price he quoted me was extremely reasonable for a used transmission with low miles. I told him to go ahead and do the work. He called me back and said the transmission that he put in was cracked. He looked for another transmission for me and never charged me any extra money. Manny and his team are heroes. I've clocked in a couple thousand of miles now driving with my car and my transmission that Manny saved. I was getting ready to purchase a new car instead of putting money into fixing my old transmission but once Manny gave me and my car a diagnostic test, he said it still ran well and I should consider fixing it. Manny not only did that but saved me money compared to the other quotes from different shops. I have a 2003 Rav4 and if you have one, you know that there is an issue with the gears shifting. My car was well beyond the extended warranty at this point. I was stressing over where to get the money to put into my transmission but Manny worked with me and gave me some options for repair. Ok, let me just start by saying, I trusted this guy, first with a transmission valve cover leak, then a broken transmission mount. Did a great job on both and then comes the big one, my torque converter needed replacement and was failing. They had my car for 2 days, and it came out worse than it was when I took it to them. Also, even though I bought fluid, he insisted on putting his own fluid in and charging me for it. My transmission uses the special TIV fluid which I don't think he used. In fact, I have a feeling he had been setting me up when they did the valve cover and put their own fluid in. I barely got it home and was extremely upset. First of all, he charges me $700 to replace the torque converter with one I ordered, then, tells me to replace the transmission it's going to be $900 even if I order it. I do not recommend this place and there are a ton of other shops nearby that are cheaper. 6 months later, thanks to help from a friend, found a place that'll charge only $475 to change it out and I'm having to have it towed to them. Never going to this place again. read more

Being a woman alone I was skeptical abut going to a mechanic shop by my self but was soon very pleasantly surprised starting with the first mechanic I came in contact with he was very polite offering a chair and cold water while I waited. When I met Armando he was just as polite and listened while I explained the problem and then he explained what could be the problem with my transmission and what my options were. He went above just being a mechanic he helped me with another issue with my car completely unrelated to the transmission but took the time to help me anyway. Problems on the way home Friday evening, car would not shift smoothly. I found Manny's transmission on yelp, made one phone call, he said meet me at the shop tomorrow (Saturday) morning. I did. We talked about what the car was doing, I explained my fears with the car, my finances. He explained the cost if there was a minor fix and if there was a major fix; then he opened her up from the side to see if there was something easy to see and fix. All in All, Manny made this experience a much easier one than what I have experience in the past (car issues in general). He showed and explained my car to me in terms I can understand. Amazing work! I am an automotive enthusiast and do 95% of my own work on my cars/family's cars. I absolutely hate major franchised shops because mostly what you deal with are employees who are better trained at selling things than they are at diagnosing/fixing things. That's a great way to make money as a business but it's terrible for the consumer. Not at Manny's! Absolutely true professionals in the field. When the transmission went out in my work truck I took it in and had a rebuilt one in SAME DAY!!! In my quest to get my 2002 Civic back up and running, I have dealt with both honest and dishonest mechanics. Needless to say, Manny's transmission service was surprisingly honest and reliable. Why it's honest? Well, I discussed with him what a previous mechanic had diagnosed. Manny told me that he would perform repairs based on the diagnostic previously done. However, he explicitly advised me that he could not guarantee the repairs based on another mechanics diagnostic. Fair. Consequently, he did his original computer diagnostic and specifically found the problem ensuring that I would not waste my money. Than, he showed me a graphic visual of the problem (clutch solenoid) and gave me a fair market price for parts. It really was fair because I compared it with other used parts. Labor was a bit above average for a "mom and pop" shop, but service and honesty make up for it. Overall, I left satisfied and my vehicle is up and running like new. Nitpicks: No seating area. Decent customer service but not up to par with mainstream customer service. read more
