I have no idea what these are, they are supposed to be cheese enchiladas

First time visiting this location and the last time as well. Came in to try their deli / hot foods. Asked for 2 carne asada quesadilla's and 2 cheese enchiladas. I asked for the quesadilla's to not be cut. The guy behind the counter didn't understand so to his credit he asked someone to translate. I told her what I wanted and she told him. Then I see him cutting my quesadilla's, WTF. Then I asked for my 2 cheese enchiladas and he made 2 cheese quesadilla's instead. I asked him if he knew what enchiladas were and he said yes. This is my 2 cheese enchiladas, see picture. I don't understand why you have people, that are serving the public, that don't understand English, but even more confusing is he didn't know what an enchilada is. Not going back

I came in to buy a quick bite to eat. It was my first time in. Hot food counter, two workers walked away as I was waiting to order. It took me almost 10 minutes to get serviced. I ordered two empanadas (chorizo) and two tamales (beef). The empanadas were made with puff pastry, super messy, but tasted ok. My tamales were clearly old and has been sitting on one side too long. The pic I uploaded you can see the left side all hard and nasty. They were not edible. I was also charged a ten cent bag fee for a bag I never received or requested. Definitely not worth the trouble of going back.

Great prices and awesome meat selection. Workers are very helpful in finding what I'm looking for.

The name of the catchier that bullied me

Never go to this store if you're paying with EBT cashiers make fun of you when you pay with that card, no shame of this cashier laughing when she seen me pay with it. She looked at the guy that packs your food & laughed, Lorena honestly you should be a shame of yourself for making people feel bad when paying with EBT.

Sour milk several times. Brand is Producers. They exchanged it while trying to get me to buy a higher priced gallon. They did not tell a manager or remove soured milk from the coolers.

As seniors it is a huge help to receive a $50 card to buy produce ONLY at certified Farmers' Markets and arrive the day before Thanksgiving and be told they don't accept the card or they aren't signed up to receive it. Card expires Nov 30 so we will lose our $50. Couldn't even buy eggs. Farmers complain people are unsupportive yet how can we support them if they are greedy and cheat the Government programs? I will make sure to never set foot in a farmers' market again. I will full heartedly support overseas farmers from now on. Let's see who buys your overpriced produce. If they don't comply with the program they should NOT be allowed to sell there. Shame on you all. I find this to be un American. So much for making America great again and buying local and home grown! Also there are only 3 stands of produce and the rest are retail trinkets, NOT a real Farmers' Market.

Fun stuff and artisans. The market is expanding and adding new vendors all the time. It maybe smaller then most markets, but close and Kid friendly. We will be going back next Wednesday. What nice way to enjoy the middle of a busy week, with a casual walk and shop, bit to eat, a little music, my kind of "Date Nite" to finish out the week. Affordable friendly, easy access and productive- purchasing fresh edibles for the Week end.

I visited several vendors for eat and to chat and learn about their trade. I certainly learned some and ate some good food like vegan adobada and a terrific vegan croissant. All the vendors were very nice happy to provide Vegan treats. Being held at a parking lot at Grossmont Mall, parking is plentiful and access is easy.

Whelp, I have a solution for that...plan your OWN Vegan Festival and it can be wherever you want it to be! Until then, this is the best thing to happen to the San Diego Vegan scene since...ever! and (2) the lines are too looooong. I get there when it opens and there are zero lines. So, there you have it: problems solved. Either drive to where it is or plan your own and if you don't, get there when it starts. I am gracious and thankful that people are VOLUNTEERING their time to put on this awesome vegan festival and coordinating with the mall and vendors. It's held the first Friday of each month. But that's pretty common these days, not just for Farmer's Market, but parking in general. Lots of food options and I don't just mean vegetables. You could pretty much have breakfast and lunch here. And enough so you can skip dinner. I almost wonder if there are more food options than other vendors. I didn't count. Don't get me wrong - still a lot of Knick knacks and other items to browse/buy other than food - maybe even something like I grabbed - a western cowboy hat. Finally got me one. Sorry - no pics. Anyway, it's busy, colorful, and fun, and it has that San Diego weekend energy. Definitely check it out if you like fresh food, people watching and spending more money than you meant to.

**August 2026: Sunday Morning Late Morning Visit**…read more I love visiting farmers markets, and this visit was a success. I was able to pick up some fresh baby blue eucalyptus plants for my shower, as well as lavender oils to really help with my aromatherapy relaxation routine at home. The Hillcrest Farmers Market happens every Sunday from 9am to 2pm and there are usually well over 150+ vendors set up along University Avenue and Normal Street. Parking is a bit tricky, but we were very lucky to find a spot in a nearby neighborhood. Once we got in, we found a great assortment of meats, sauces, dips, and more. In a somewhat hidden part of the trail, there's a bunch of exotic food options to consider, including flavors from Africa, as well as some tables where you can sit and enjoy the food. There are also flowers, veggies, eggs, honey, and pretty much anything you'd be interested in. I think we shopped for about 45 minutes as casual browsers, and it felt like a good amount of time to get a feel for the place. It's a great spot to support small businesses.
