I bought a Guerrro flour tortillas and had mold be careful you don't want to get sick

I happened to be in the area and stepped inside to buy goodies as a tip for the guys @ the recycling business nearby. The biggest problem I can see is the area is devoid of pedestrian traffic. If this area had some multi-housing units to bring more people to this stretch, I think the business would do well. There is plenty to see and purchase. The selection is HUGE and prices are reasonable. Today: Tangerines @ 50 cents a pound. Macaroon cookie box @ $5.99 Empanadas @ 2.79/2.99 So, the above went to the crew for Memorial Day. Then I bought: Valencia Oranges @ $1.49 a pound. A Chile Relleno @ $5.99 which is in the photo. The Chile Relleno is among the best I've eaten, HUGE, and seasoned so well, a sauce would ruin it. YUM! I like Manolo's Farmers Market because they have a wide variety of groceries. However, I'm disappointed because I ordered precut menudo but it was lazily cut with a lot of fat on it! I've ordered menudo from Manolo's and it was acceptably cut. Whoever cut the meat obviously didn't care and was lazy. Next time I'll go to Liva's for acceptably cut menudo. I may sound petty but menudo isn't as good when it has a lot of fat on it. Anyway, this is my review recommending you all to go to Liva's for your menudo supplies. read more

Maybe not have your workers follow customers around the store , I clearly understand the problem with shoplifters in El cajon. That being said I feel that it's very VERY unprofessional for the loss prevention staff to follow so obviously and noticeably that it was clearly insulting and on top of that the man who was following us was just a stocker or basic worker with the green shirt not a security guard or anything like that a worker with no reason whatsoever to be so insulting as he was. I have been to that over priced store several times and the past times my only complaint has been that there prices are so inflated for a grocery store the price of a gallon milk is the same as down at 7/11 and much of the other products are usually found cheaper At all other groceries stores , the only reason I think anyone actually goes there is because of the location which is prime and convenience but not even comparable in terms of price or know I see service the sad part is I really don't get how or why I was targeted for this profiling but it was the most insulting and just bad business for the fact that 1, he was so obviously watching myself and my husband that I mentioned to my husband that man is following us around the store ... my husband didn't really think that could he was following us ? Until I told my husband wait here on the the other isles and I will go around and watch . So my husband waited at the top of the isle and was waiting he turned around and almost bumped onto this guy ???? Just like I told him . My husband asks are you folllowing us? He responds yes just doing my job ?! Ok but myself and my husband a retired army after 20 years service and never shoplifted from this or any other store . First time visiting this location and the last time as well. Came in to try their deli / hot foods. Asked for 2 carne asada quesadilla's and 2 cheese enchiladas. I asked for the quesadilla's to not be cut. The guy behind the counter didn't understand so to his credit he asked someone to translate. I told her what I wanted and she told him. Then I see him cutting my quesadilla's, WTF. Then I asked for my 2 cheese enchiladas and he made 2 cheese quesadilla's instead. I asked him if he knew what enchiladas were and he said yes. It's convenient, which is why I come here, but realistically, don't expect to get in and get out quickly. They're always a little short staffed at the registers, and the cashier is always having to be pulled away to go help someone else in a different department within the store, and the lines just keep getting longer. Nobody in particular is to blame, but I do wish there were was more staff at the register. Other than that, they have delicious food that's ready to go, it always tastes homemade- everything from the carnitas to the guacamole. Delicious! Don't EVER go to MANOLO MARKET, It's a SCAM; they post cheap prices for their products and groceries, but when you come to checkout you'll be charged 2-3 times more than advertised prices, very disappointing and screwed up store; their fruits, vegies and produce don;t last long rot in a couple of days, and look like they picked up from garbage cans.... They invented an intricate scam scheme how to lure in customers with lower than other stores food prices even lower than Walmart or Costco ; when you come to register to pay they tell you don't have enough some sort of points(that I never even heard of) for advertised prices, and that's why you must pay their regular prices that are substantially higher than elsewhere... read more

I came in to buy a quick bite to eat. It was my first time in. Hot food counter, two workers walked away as I was waiting to order. It took me almost 10 minutes to get serviced. I ordered two empanadas (chorizo) and two tamales (beef). The empanadas were made with puff pastry, super messy, but tasted ok. My tamales were clearly old and has been sitting on one side too long. The pic I uploaded you can see the left side all hard and nasty. They were not edible. I was also charged a ten cent bag fee for a bag I never received or requested. Went in today with my daughter to buy fruit, pan dulce and to ask if I can order those big jugs of agua fresca for a party. I circled around looking for specific empty water jugs for agua fresca just to see if they had any and if so how much but didn't find any. I made my way to the register where I paid for my groceries and asked the cashier if she knew if I can order aguas frescas through them for a party and she said she believed so and that I needed to talk to the people who work in the kitchen. After I purchased my items I made my way to the open ready to eat food area and stood in line so I can speak to someone. While my daughter and I waited a young kid came up to me and said "I'm going to need you to take off your backpack and leave it in the front." I looked at him like "are you crazy?" I said "My backpack is my purse I'm not giving you my backpack" he says "I'm sorry but if you don't give it to me we're going to have to take it." WTF?! "I replied "I am a grown woman, my backpack is my purse, I'm not giving it to you and you're not taking it." Who does he or whoever told him to tell me this BS think they are!! I'm not a child, it's not after school where all the kids come in to get snacks it's 6:30 pm and the store isn't busy. A short bald man, security and a few workers saw me come in with my backpack and no one said anything. I shopped for my items, I paid for my groceries and you're going to tell me I have to give you my backpack while I wait in line where you can clearly see me?! Absolutely not! And I already paid! I guess they thought I was a going to steal food after I paid for my groceries. Also, there are no signs that say backpacks are not allowed. They change the name from foodland to Manolo but now is worse then it was before . The food from the kitchen is disgusting and not flavorful at all, I order some rice and beans , went home and it was not tasty and too make it even worse o found a hair on my rice . I used to go here when they were under a different owner. I could depend on reasonable prices and I could enjoy homemade food inside at the tables. I went there recently and the only thing worth buying were the tortillas. Everything else is super expensive. Eggs were eight dollars a dozen. I went to Albertson's and got them for four dollars. The Carnitas are tasteless and I'm a little bit concerned about how long they were out there in the open. Incredibly frustrating that they don't post the ad until half of the first shopping day is done. I shop when stores open and the online ad is not posted.
