This is our favorite local farmers market! There's a train that runs and is super kid friendly. The…read moreline can get very long for train tickets and waiting so go early if it's on your to do list. The market itself is about two blocks and some change. All of the vendors are really friendly & knowledgable. This farmers market is extremely dog friendly so be aware if you have allergies. The only downside to this market is how rude people can be when it comes to their dogs. We've seen owners let their dogs go to the bathroom just steps away from vendor tents and it's disgusting. Overall a really nice farmers market with lots of yummy food & local produce.

We've always wanted to get fresh, warm and delicious bread and pastries from the Chaupain Bakery stand, but their line has always been insanely long. Luckily enough during our visit this past weekend, the line wasn't as terrible when we passed by them--you grab that opportunity without dilly dallying because a minute later, that can change real quick. We got a slice of their caramelized onion quiche, a strawberry bar, a chocolate chip muffin, and a bag of their brioche buns. Sooooo yummy! We also got Amapola's banana pudding and it was divine! The perfect dessert for a sweet tooth. It's served chilled, so creamy and not too sweet. I love that you still get some banana chunks in there too. Will definitely get this again the next time we visit! I was also in dire need of more coffee that morning, so I decided to get some from Wipeout Coffee. I got a large Iced Hazelnut Latte with oat milk. I was so happy to get to try new coffee from a local roaster! It was pretty good--I really enjoyed my drink--just an insane amount of ice even after asking for light ice. Their coffee was just so crisp and refreshing. They also have all kinds of fresh and vibrant greenery, flowers, and produce that are all just so hard to resist! Unless something drastic changes, we'll always come to visit this farmer's market.

As another review noticed, I did not see a ton of produce. Mostly fruit and not vegetables, a couple of vendors with meat or seafood. But I was honestly looking more for the food!! Dog friendly, many dogs in the market and also on the grass lawn along side the market. I love that this market is not crammed in on both sides with stalls, so there is plenty of room to maneuver with your dog and armfuls of food. I parked kinda far but I needed the walk to prepare for eating lol. Meters are free on Sunday in Chula Vista so it was easy to find something :) What I tried today - Local Lemon: Really nice lemonade, limeade or Arnold Palmer base with homemade fruit purees/chunks added. This was all the way at the end from where I came in and it was so worth the walk. The owner provides filtered water for dogs (he made a point to tell me it was filtered lol) and asks if you want the lemonade sweet or not, and offers to adjust if needed. No adjustment necessary on mine, I got a limeade with mango and it was perfect. I want to try other flavors! Absolutely fabulous. I just walked on the treadmill for an hour and I'll need to do another hour so I can slam these in lol. The Cajun garlic noodle stand smelled incredible, I walked by it twice and regretted not stopping both times... there was an esquites stand... 2 honey stands... a healthy sourdough stand with almond flour sourdough (?!) Tbh I think I like this farmers market better than Hillcrest because there is a lot more room to move and the vibe is very very chill. I will be back again to try what I didn't try this time!!! They have a great variety of foods- fresh produce, pastries, breads, dips, salsas, honeys, and sauces, as well as beverages. Wonderful eclectic selection of food trucks, some jewelry, and even a house plant tent with some gorgeous specimens. Da-Le-Ranch also has a stand with pastured eggs and meats. It's a wee bit cramped, and parking can be tricky, but I just show up right when they open to avoid the crowd.

There's also a refrigerator near the meats that has grab and go containers of fresh salsas, guacamole and more. They carry a small selection of fresh bakery items and a pretty decent amount of shelf stable food as well. You can definitely find all manner of snacks and Mexican sweets, they even sell Paw Patrol piñatas! There's plenty of close parking in the shared lot. I personally love these little neighborhood markets, and this one is worth checking out.

They have updated their hours and they are open on Monday- Saturday from 7am to 6pm. I have tried calling them to ask a question and their phone number does not work, I recommend looking on yelp and making sure they are open. The employees there are absolutely nice and helpful. They let you know when their next shipment is coming depending on the certain item you are looking for. If you haven't been here yet, you should check out this cute and quiet farmers outlet.

My favorite vendor here is Taste of Lao Paradise. The auntie here makes the best papaya salad. It's fresh, tangy, spicy, and sweet. It's a must with their sticky rice and lao sausage. I also love their bbq beef sticks. 10/10 The Salvadoran stand has amazing hand made pupusas! The meat, melty cheese and pickled veggies is pure love. Their empanadas are really good too. 10/10 Som Sauce! They sell this mango habanero hot sauce and it's so good! It's sweet, spicy and is very umami. It's basically a Cambodian fish sauce and it's freggin good. It goes well with steak, sashimi, tacos, basically everything. 10/10 My Labubu stand people.
