Street parking all around or you can Uber/Lyft. They do have security to check IDs and bags. But once inside, it's free room! It was not that crowded for how many people were there and I still felt like there was enough elbow space. It did get very loud because we were right next to the speaker so definitely protect your ears and bring some earplugs. The venue is very old, I think it's over a hundred years old or something like that, and it shows but I think it adds character. The sound quality there is good for how old it is at least for metal shows. The venue is consistently oversold to the point where the last few shows I went to, I was watching from the entrance area. The smoking area is also way too small. It's always shoulder to shoulder there. The parking there is always a pain. There is street parking but you have to get there at least an hour early to find anything around the venue. Otherwise, you'll be paying an arm and a leg for paid lot parking. This isn't the fault of the venue itself though. I am sure I will be back at the Ogden Theatre and hopefully they make some changes to enhance the show experience.

To me, it doesn't have the same allure and magic of some of Denver's rivaled clubs, though I appreciate its place in history. When it was built a hundred years ago, they probably never predicted that this old cow town would turn into as popular of a city as it has become. Attending an event here (or even at Fillmore a few blocks down) is chaos. Parking is extremely minimal, more like a major headache. The tour buses either park directly in front of the venue or on the sidestreet, the line to get in wraps around the building and with the surrounding Colfax chaos it's usually an overstimulating adventure just to make it inside. Ogden is bigger than Bluebird and smaller than Fillmore. Around 1500 capacity. I've seen two acts I really love here, Jerry Cantrell (of Alice In Chains fame) and Rival Sons. The venue floor is tiered and overall a decent setup. It's similar to Bluebird, different barriers separating one from the other. Sound is good, better if you're in the back, but if it's a band I love I'm getting as close as possible. They have two bars, and they do an adequate job serving the masses. You can't do anything about the prices, but occasionally you might find a deal on something. It's a concert, get a beer or a spirit and soda and get out of there! I'm sure I'll find myself here again and though it's not a favorite venue of mine, I can get down with the acts they bring in. If you can, uber there to avoid the parking situation!
