I gave my rabbit the pain medicine they guilted me into buying and she died from it. I won't be taking my animals here again. Also the lady at the front desk was rude and acted like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. She never even smiled once or made positive comments to any customer I saw her interact with. And when I was waiting for my medicine she went and hid somewhere in the back so there was no one at the front desk. Just overall unpleasant experience. read more

First of all, I didn't even meet the vet until the very end of the yearly appt(shots and such). When it was finally our turn they took my corgi from me to give the shots and take blood without me. Dolly Rose cried a lot and they never came to let me help her calm down. When the vet came in the room at the very end she instructed me she needs to lose more weight(she lost 3 already) and I must put her on a certain dog food immediately. I again told her we already lost a few pounds and my corgi is half cardigan and half pembrook. Cardigans weigh one of two pounds more than pembrooks and that she is already within the weight a corgi should be. The vet never asked me any other questions, not one. I'll be going back to Rendon Rd animal clinic(my bad for napping thru my appt with Trish. So, thanks for reminding us why we always go to Rendon rd, where we are listened to and mom is always in the room for shots and such. read more

We absolutely loved the people here. Everyone was sweet as can be. They are a bit overpriced, especially when your pet is not actually seeing a vet but a vet Tech. The o ly reason I gave them 2 stars is because of their hours or lack thereof, I should say. They send emails multiple times a month informing customers they are closing early this day or that day, or they will actually be fully closed on this day or that day. It really didn't impact us much... until it did. We had an emergency with our pet. We called as soon as they opened. Actually, when they were supposed to open. About 45 mins after they opened, someone answered the phone out of breath. I explained the situation that was happening with our puppy. He said sorry they were short staffed that day and couldn't fit us in. Turns out our puppy had severe pneumonia. We had to take him to Thrive and spend $1000 on an x-ray. A bit later, we had another emergency, and yet again, they said, "Nope, sorry, can't fit you in because we are short staffed." Now they are completely closed on Saturdays. We needed to switch vets. We couldn't ever count on them being there, which is really sad. read more

We had to go and put my family dog down about 2-3 weeks ago. They were all so nice, caring, and left us there to be alone with out dog for as long as we needed. We are new to the area and are looking for a new vet. We were excited to see the great reviews Mansfield Animal Clinic had however unfortunately we have not had the best experience. I want to say that Dr Nelson was absolutely amazing. She explained things clearly and loved one of our dog like he was her own. If only her other staff members were this way. Kayla who answers the phone and greets you is absolutely miserable. When we first came in she didn't even say hello she said "yes" and I said we are here for an appointment for Joey and she didn't acknowledge me until a few minutes later she told us to go to a room. She didn't smile or seem to be happy. Every time you call she acts like you are asking the dumbest questions and you are bothering her. We had to call a few times to get things sorted out for a new boarding facility our three dogs are staying at and the entire time she was giving me attitude. I finally had enough and have decided to switch vets. You want to be able to trust your vet and that they will treat your animals like family but when you have someone treating you the way she does, you can only imagine how she would treat the animals. She clearly does not like her job and it shows. She can't answer a few simple questions. read more

The new management and doctor are horrible. My dog went for a checkup and it was determined (through X-Rays and whatever else I have scans for that they did) that she had a pyometra. She had surgery on June 23 and post-op she was swollen. I was given meds and informed to finish the few antibiotics that we were given at the checkup. The swelling has never gone down in one of her glands. I took her in two days ago and informed them that she was still swollen. NO additional blood work or tests were done. The doctor came out less than two minutes later and informed me that it was cancer and that they would need to do surgery. I was baffled that this was determined in less than two minutes, just from looking at my dog. I strongly feel that this information (if true) was known prior to me coming in post-op and it was withheld to obtain another service charge at a later date. I will seek services somewhere else and I am submitting a complaint with the BBB. The services are not customer-focused at this point. The old management would not have treated a naturally repeat customer in this manner. read more

If I could give a negative score I would. I will be reporting this lady to the State licensing agency. UPDATE. I talked to the manager who found that the vet had added a fee for a blood test of $88. I'm confused because Dr Nelson tells me it would cost $130. So he will refund the fee. Later the vet called me, and proceeded to tell me that I had authorized the test. I corrected her but she claimed that by telling the practice that I could spend no more than $200, that meant I was willing to have the test done. No! Then she claimed that she had the results of the test. I told her I did not authorize a test. So I hung up on her when she persisted. She calls me back and tells me she just wants to know where to send the results. I have all the records from earlier in the day so I give her my email. She refused to send it to my email and can only release the results to another vet. I'm pretty heated at this time and told her that I did have one yet. She hung up on me. Dr Mac was awesome. The new vet Dr Nelson is a rip off and always has a new test or procedure each time you take your dog to her. She claimed in Feb that my dog had distemper but failed to respond to me when I said she had had these issues for years. So I take my dog back for follow up. Dr Nelson tells me that she needs to do a blood test for $ 130 bringing my bill to $250. I tell her that I will not be doing it today. She tells me that she will recalculate the Bill. She charges me $200. And tells me that I ought to be ashamed that I don't take good care of my dog. I will not be back. read more

Each time we end up waiting almost 30 min past our appointment, Once they told us way past the appointment that it will be another hr to 1 1/2 so we just left. Sadly, the time came to send our pup to the dog-park in the sky and Mansfield Animal Clinic was more than accommodating. They allowed us to choose the time to bring him in and when they brought us back to the exam room where they would do the euthanization, there was a nice soft mat laid out for him. The nurse came in, explained what would happen and left it with us if we wanted to be present or not. The vet also give him a sedative so he would be relaxed when the injection came. I couldn't watch and left the room. Too much love and history to see him go out like that. Everybody afterwards was very friendly, sincere and remorseful. They expressed sorrow for our loss and even sent a card a couple of days later. Very classy read more

Get a quote from multiple vets before you use them! They are not reasonably priced anymore. They up sell and over charge. Maybe new management? We called 7 other local vets for a spay quote and they were the most expensive BY FAR. Mansfield Animal Clinic quoted us $388 in 2017 for a spay (we decided to wait) and a year later (present day) they quoted us **$728** for a spay!! We called other local vets and clinics for quotes FOR THE EXACT SAME PROCEDURE - they were- $65, $218, $244, and $277. We immediately wondered how much money we've lost over the years to this clinic from their overcharging. After 3 years of loyal business and referring family we are no longer using this clinic. They are now interested in nickel and diming you. They are much more affordable options out there who do not pressure you to pay for unnecessary things. read more

We have been coming to this clinic for 12 years now. We have always received excellent 5* care when Dr. Robert Cannon (who is now retired) and Dr. Mack McClister were the sole owners. However, since they were bought out by Petwell Partners.com (based in Houston), they have locum tenen vets (recently graduated vets) that move between the different clinics that Petwell Partners own, the goal of the practice has surreptitiously changed. Example, our dog recently went to see Dr. B.C. for nausea after she ate a frog in the garden. We were charged $26.60 for metronidazole - which when compared to commercial pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS etc.) is $4.00 to $10.00 for the exact same # of pills. The dog was also given pet probiotics FortiFlora K-9. We were charged $10.00 per packet (total of 10 packets). This is $28 for 30 packets on the on-line pet pharmacy. The vet told my husband that he may want to take her see a cardiologist in Grapevine too and handed a him the name and address of Medvet Grapevine. Our rescue dog is 12 years old and has incontinence. We bought our first supply of Proin from the clinic, but soon found out we could get the same exact drug price from an on-line pet pharmacy. Initially, the clinic would not give us a prescription with refills to mail to the on-line pharmacy either. I am in the human health care field and am disappointed that the financial world has taken over (as in the human world) and will be reconsidering our choice. read more

Not pleased at all. I was on time to my appointment and it took 30-45 minutes to be seen, even though I was the only one in the waiting room. Saw a "fill in" vet who talked way too fast and tried to get me to get unnecessary things for my dog. My dog was sick and she couldn't really answer my questions. Seems unorganized. Left my dog for boarding (had to get a vaccine that she's never had to have at any other boarding or doggie day care facility). When I returned after four days, a very young girl walked out with my dog and said she had to bathe my dog due to an accident. She left her hair matted and I had to have her shaved down. I have been using this Clinic for around 12 years with many pets. My 3 adult children all take their pets to MAC as well. I have referred many friends and neighbors to this practice. I have always had a positive experience until lately. The Vet themselves have always been very nice, informative and professional, including the visiting vets. The support and office staff however are disorganized and don't seem to know how to communicate internally. Customer service is very poor. I had a cat there for his vaccines, he needed a booster 3-4 weeks later and we had an ice storm, I cancelled via voicemail and asked them to call me back to reschedule - I never got the call, waited a week and called my self, set a new apt and when I arrived they told me I would need to start the vaccines all over because it had been too long in between. Why didn't they tell me that on the call when I rescheduled. I brought my Great Dane in at 1 year for her one year check up and shots, that is exactly what I told the receptionist when I scheduled the apt. Got there to find out she does not get shots at 1 year, it is 1 year from her last shots and she does not need to be seen until May. I got an email from the clinic in March reminding me that the Great Dane needed an immunization in March- they had already told me May! The tech apologized for the miscommunication. I asked the tech what we do to make sure this misinformation and disorganization doesn't continue, he said to call him every time I call - How does that help? There is no communication from the exam room to the front desk for scheduling. I have to trust the practice, from the vet on down that they know what they are doing and don't waste my time. Many people don't get proper care and vaccinations for their pets and going to a vet as disorganized as this one adds to the frustration. On Monday morning at the apt I left my name and number and asked the practice administrator to call me - no call - I called on Friday to confirm that she got the message and they could not confirm that, she doesn't work every day. I gave them a chance to show they cared before writing this. I will be taking my pets to a new vet. read more

I was misled. Cost me $405 to euthanize under Dr advise my Tea Cup Poodle $159 today for shots on the other dog 3 days later and was told it was a 3 year shot. Paid top dollar and I told the Vet she had shots for less $ in Burleson but rabies was only one year and that all I got at Mansfield Animal Clinic when I told the Vet and was led to believe 3 years Buyers Beware I was mis-led and feel cheated. This is my second time to bring our pets to the clinic. Both times everyone has been nice except for the vet tech. Both times she has been demeaning in the way she speaks. I think the first time she was trying to educate me but the way she spoke it just comes across as condescending. My friend was with me and she even made a comment about that visit being awkward. Today was no different, she made me feel inferior when she questioned me about why I brought one of my dogs in since nothing was wrong. I told her my husband had told me to bring her in with the puppies to get a check up. She questioned me if I was spading her and when I told we were not she said they don't check up on dogs unless it's before a surgery...her exact words. I told her I am bringing her in bc the lady who scheduled the appointment told my husband the mom could be seen as well for free. She said we wouldn't do that. So she leaves to go call that lady to clarify and I call my husband to confirm. She comes back in and said I confused her when I said free....yet, she questioned me from the beginning before I even said the word free!?!? She then proceeded to tell me that they can see the mother and do a well care check up and it is included in the price with no additional charge bc of the multiple dog visit...FOR THE LOVE I had no words for her. Took my dog (red mini poodle) on a Friday as she couldn't eat or drink anything. Vet showed me on the back of her tongue is a tumor. Recommended surgery and a biopsy. Scheduled the surgery for the following Tuesday, they gave me some wet food for her and a syringe. I paid for three cans, they gave me two. Already starting off in the wrong foot. They corrected and gave me another can. I show up Tuesday, fill out the paper work and request call back at the end of surgery plus pictures. We go home and wait and wait and wait. Nothing. I finally call back at noon and was told she is just finishing up and will call you shortly. Again waited and waited. Called back at 130 and they said we left you a message. No you didn't nor did you even send pics like I requested. Whatever. Said we could pick her up at 430, which we did. We show up. No information as nobody knows nothing on what was found. They scheduled a follow up for two weeks. Two weeks goes by and I have to reschedule. Kept calling the number and kept getting sent to the full mailbox. Finally called the other number and got the appointment rescheduled for Friday at 915. Show up Friday and they look at me like why are you here? We don't see anything scheduled. Someone didn't update the schedule. Other Vet is in surgery but she takes her back so he can look at her mouth. I remind the office manager about the biopsy results. She brings her back , mouth looks good but he will have to call me after surgery to talk about the biopsy. Thinking this can't be good. Go home and wait and wait again. Finally I call back at noon and get sent to another office manager. Turns out the whole issue is they LOST THE TUMOR!!! It was never sent out! I paid 250 dollars for this as we are worried to death on the results and now we will never know? The WHOLE point of the surgery was a tumor and you LOST it? I got the money back but that still leaves us worrying on the results. On top of all that the original vet that did the surgery has been off on personal leave and they don't know when she will be back. So they can't even get in touch with her and ask her. read more

We have used Mansfield Animal Clinic for many years and have always been pleased with the care that has been provided as well as their professionalism in both good times and bad (e.g. loss of a dog). Not everyone is willing to care for Rottweilers but they have never shown any qualms - treating our big babies as if they were anybodies little dog. I have been concerned about the transition from the old Vets retiring (especially Dr Mac) and the new young Vets taking over - but we remain just as happy & satisfied as at any time in the past. read more

We had been taking our babies to Dr.Gaines for a while. When he left, the clinic wasn't the same. Some people absolutely refuse to see the doc there. Our dogs needed shots. The price plus office vist is unreal. We had to go somewhere else. Also, when asked if leptospirosis shot is mandatory or by law, we were told yes it is. It is NOT. You are not required to get any shots except rabies. That's it!! That's where they lost my business. read more

We have always used Mansfield Animal Clinic when it was just Dr. Cannon and Dr. Mac. Our experience with Dr. Hill and the current staff was not a good one. We took Piper our Shiba Inu in to be looked at for her tummy issues. (She was yelping when she tried to poop.) She's not a fan of people she doesn't know and has not been feeling well for 3 days. This was not her first time going to this clinic and we have never seen her in this much pain. She freaked out and nipped my husband while being weighed in the office on this visit, but was calm when tech/assistant entered the room to go over why we where there. She then took Piper wrapped in a blanket to the back room. Not long after that my husband is summoned to the back room, where he was told that Piper was calm sitting on the table and then she snapped and bit the tech/assistant. Since a bite occurred she had to be quarantined for 10 days so they locked her up where she had a seizure. We thought they were kind to let us see her during the long 10 days, later to find out that the bite occurred while they were trying to muzzle her. A fact that was never mentioned to us before. Piper is a highly sensitive dog who was in pain and has never been muzzled before so knowing this makes perfect sense for her biting /lashing out. We picked her up today after the 10 days and was told the blood on her face was from her biting her tongue when they gave her the rabies vaccination. While cleaning the blood off her face I noticed that it was her lip and she was still bleeding. They never even bother to check that before us showing up to take her home. We WILL NEVER take any of our 3 pets back to this clinic again. read more

My Dad took my Tea Cup Poodle named Baby (as I was away in College) to this Vet & they gave him a diagnosis of an allergy and gave dad some meds for baby's cough. Cough got worse and dad brought him back again they gave him several tests and some shots and charged him 0ver $400.00 and they told dad they wouldn't let him go to the front desk to pay but he had to pay them cash in the treatment room, dad told me after he paid them they gave him same meds and sent Baby home. The cough really got bad he took him back this time they took more tests and said he had pneumonia and cancer and needed to be put to sleep! He asked,"Why didn't you catch this before as maybe something could have been done several weeks ago!"...they had no answer but that Baby was going to have to go to another Vet as they weren't equipped to handle this and it could cost $8000.00 to save his life but with the cancer it was a waste of time. Charged him several hundred dollars and put him to sleep! My baby died right there and Dad had to witness him die with what he thought was a cough! Cold, incompetent, rude, uncaring people!
