I stopped by the ER on a Thursday morning, where they told me if I couldn't afford the nearly $9K cystotomy, the only thing I could afford to do is euthanize him since that's all I could afford there...then they suggested calling other hospitals. Mortified, I started calling every hospital down the list. After calling 15 different hospitals, Chandra picked up my call and immediately offered to help. I called St. Mina's at 12 PM and they were able to take my boy in at 1 PM. I couldn't be more grateful for her/Dr. Hany Azer and their team during such a difficult day. Chandra is so kind and she made me feel at ease. She helped us every step of the way! The morning after, she called me and asked if I could come in and take my boy out to go potty because she wants him to have a good experience when he returns (he's reactive towards strangers touching him) and to me, that showed her attentiveness to his comfort levels and trying to create a positive environment with their office. I've officially switched vets after this experience. Thank you Chandra and Dr. Hany Azer!

    St. Minas estimate

My Gucci needed some teeth removal and I was quoted on the low end $713 to Include neutering for 150. With extractions being $150 to $600 on the high end. They wanted to preauthorize $1200 as the high and if once they got in there it was less work then they would give me a refund. That's a big difference. Especially when I know nothing about tooth removal. So I was told by a groomer to got to ENNIS VETERINARY CLINIC in Ennis Tx. This vet has over 40 years experience on all animals and livestock. I was also told that the blood work was mandatory at Minas and my vet put it on my estimate but told me they really don't need it until they are older so that was taken off. Check out the differences in prices. RIDICULOUS. After the blood work was removed my high total was $318.26

They helped my Service Dog pass over...I highly appreciate the care and professionalism of the staff and Veterinarian Dr. Hany Azer...

Dr. Hany Azir and the staff were very kind and thoughtful as they helped my Annabella pass from this world. I highly recommend the services they provide.

They got us in right away. I had a yearly check up for my 5 year old and a new appt for my puppy. They were sweet and thorough and reasonably priced. I really appreciated their service.

They didnt treat us like a LARGE BILL VET BILL which is usually the way many animals hospital's do. All of the other ones seem to only care about whether you can pay or not. Thrive did not treat us that way at all. They were kind, caring, compassionate, informative, and knowledgeable. We drove from Burleson to Thrive and we had never been there before. Unfortunately, that meant it was January 1st, so our usual vet was closed; we didn't want Sam to suffer any longer, though. I know some of the current and previous staff at Thrive, so we took him in to their emergency department, where we were treated with kindness, and they were especially gentle and sweet with him. They quickly took us back to a private room that you could tell had been specifically set up for the occasion with a soft rug, a comfortable loveseat and chair, calming lighting, etc. The vet was informative and compassionate, and the staff allowed us to move at a pace we were comfortable with, and gave us time to say goodbye and process what was happening. I would definitely recommend them for emergency pet care.

I'm writing this because I lost my dog, and it could have been prevented. I brought my dog in to see Dr. Gant after she'd been sick and getting worse over the course of a day and a half. After examining her, Dr. Gant diagnosed her with Pyometra and told me she needed emergency surgery. He also said that if we couldn't afford surgery, he could put her on a few rounds of antibiotics and clear it up. I didn't want to put her through a risky surgery as she was 10 years old and already weak. It didn't make sense if the antibiotics would work -- as he said they would -- and I also didn't want to take on the expense of an emergency surgery if there was a less invasive option that could help her. He had told me he had seen other dogs treated of Pyometra with antibiotics and said it should be fine. He took an X-ray and said it didn't look as bad as he originally thought, so he sent her home with antibiotics and some food. Just two hours later, my husband found her unable to stand and gasping for air. We were scared and called Dr. Gant's office, but he was extremely rude to my husband, who was trying to get help for our dog. He accused me of lying about what he'd said and told us to take her to the ER. She stopped breathing in the ER parking lot. They tried CPR, but she didn't make it. The emergency vet told us there should have only been two options given to us when she was diagnosed earlier that day: 1) Emergency surgery or 2) Euthanasia. If I had known that Pyometra could cause her cervix to close and uterus to rupture if left untreated, I would never have brought her home. I would've done anything to prevent her from dying in pain. Instead, I was sent home with false hope. I was told we could follow up in two days if she hadn't improved, and he scheduled me to come back for more antibiotics in two weeks for a follow-up. He never told me there was potential for her to pass in a matter of seconds from this illness. That advice cost my sweet girl her life. I'm not writing this to be spiteful or to get revenge on Dr. Gant. My concern is not with him. I'm writing this because I miss my baby girl every day, and I never want anyone else to go through what we did. No one's fur baby should have to die in so much pain. If this helps even one person avoid that pain, then sharing our story was worth it.

I've seen both of the vets here (i learned they are brothers) and both have been knowledgeable and helpful. Always answered all my questions and made me feel like my cat is in good hands. She had a toe ulcer and needed an antibiotic shot, wound cleaning, and a cone - i included a photo of the invoice for transparency. Some other reviews mentioned pricing as an issue, and although it wasnt a cheap visit ~ i dont think the prices are astronomical. Medical care and having pets in general is expensive, but it's definitely not the veterinarians fault. They also recommended we get "MiconaHex+Triz" wipes from amazon for some cat acne she had on her chin and recommended we switch to a ceramic or glass bowl to prevent bacterial growth. Ive been coming here since 2021 and its always been a positive experience. The wait was a little long once we got in the waiting room, but i understand that there is a lot going on and lots of other pet patients to see and help so it makes sense! All the staff i have interacted with seem friendly and apologetic of any wait times as well! I feel that my cat is always well taken care of and i do feel like she is in good hands here!

He didn't force himself on my dog when she wasn't having it; he accepted it and waited till she was comfortable. Not to mention, he didn't just ask basic questions.. he wanted to KNOW about my dogs personality to better understand her situation and help both of us out. I would definitely recommend this Dr. great experience overall!

I have been coming here for probably close to 10 years, as have several friends and neighbors, but I will never come back again. I came last Friday and was told I can come back today, next Thursday, and my dog will have some bumps cauterized off him. I was told to be in at 3:45 pm and it takes about 30 minutes with the procedure to be done while I wait with him. I called them yesterday, the day before the appointment, and left a voicemail asking to confirm my appointment and if my dog needs to have water and food removed before the appointment today. They did not call me back, but did call my wife yesterday to confirm the appointment. I went into the vet today at 3:30 pm and checked in for the appointment. At about 4:15 the vet came out, looked at my dog, and he informed me I will need to come back in a couple days. The vet informed me I will need to leave him all day for them to do the work. I asked why I was not told that on Thursday, when I set the appointment for today, and the vet got an attitude with me and said he was not working on my schedule. I expressed my concern to the vet that about 4 months ago I brought my dog in for a dental cleaning at 7:30 am and was told he would be ready about 3 or 4 pm. I was called just after 4 pm and told they did not do the work since there was another emergency that arose. When I asked why they did not call me when they realized they could not do the work, they shrugged me off. There is no reason for my elderly full-sized dog to spend a day in their tiny cage just to be asked to return another day. He does not have a ton of time left, I do not want him to spend it in their tiny cage, afraid, and them not to do the work. There is no need for me to take a day off of work, missing pay, just to be told tough luck and they are not working on my time. If you make an appointment to get work done, the work should be done.
