Our son loves coming to school every day and we've seen him flourish through the patient and knowledgable care given by his wonderful teachers. Lessons and daily activities are well-planned and developmentally appropriate. Our family feels comfort knowing that Willow House is licensed by the OEC and that Executive Director Susan runs the center like a wheel oiled machine with thoughtful policies and procedures to keep the children safe and sound. We feel blessed that we were able to secure a space at this wonderful center.

As a mom who had only let my mom and mother in law watch her while I was at work it was definitely an adjustment for me but Willow House showed me they care for my daughter just like she is part of their family. My daughter attends the preschool program three full days a week with the before and after care program and the amount she has learned in these past months is incredible. The preschool teacher Jess is amazing and the main reason why we picked this program. The lessons and themes are constantly changing and the children are learning new things everyday. I am amazed to see the progress my daughter has made thus far. When I ask my three year old what she loves about Willow House she tells me the activity centers which are constantly changing based on the theme of the week. I am so thankful to have found Willow House and would highly recommend this center to all my friends.

Founded in 1986, the Center's work includes legal assistance, advocacy, education, analysis, policy initiatives, and litigation of importance to Medicare beneficiaries nationwide, with an emphasis on the needs of people with longer-term and chronic conditions. Our systemic advocacy is based on the experiences of the real people who contact the Center every day. Headquartered in Connecticut and Washington, DC, the Center also has attorneys in CA, MA and WI. The Center is staffed by people who are passionate about their mission. If you have questions or concerns about your Medicare coverage, give them a call! Did not help us. THIS AGENCY TURNED THEIR BACKS ON US -MEDICARE ADVOCACY!!!!!…read more Here is the real truth you all should know about noone will tell you! After several phone calls we were thrown out of our medicare benefits. The appeals process is a nightmare and set up for failure. Keypro and Livanta are not your friends. Mediscare is a complete joke you pay into it all your life work hard and get crumbs in return. FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS!!!!! This agency of Medicare Advocacy turned their backs on us. There is no insurance that covers custodial care. Insurance lies to you. They want you out of the nursing home or physical rehab center in a week or 3 days.No such thing as 30 days nursing home care. .. Buh Bye...its a nightmare. You are better off getting cadillac insurance. If you are middle class you are screwed. The super rich and super poor get all the benefits. Went thru this for 3 years. MEDISCARE NIGHTMARE. They play with peoples lives. Nursing homes are a joke they have the power to call Livanta and Or Keypro tell them you are not progressing and then the Mediscare begins! I made an in house complaint an aid was abusive to my family member who was completely disabled. And the nursing home retaliated by calling Livanta. Southington Care center a so called 5 star nursing home rated by Medicare standards in Southington CT is not who they appear to be. The aids were abusive and the food was unedible no proper holding temps and no nutritional value. Medicare throws you into an appeals process and you cannot win or dispute. Its designed for Medicare not to pay for your benefits. In return you have no where to go ..your home isnt safe. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOUR ATTORNEY OR FAMILY MEMBER READS IT THEY WANT YOU TO DISCLOSE ALL OF YOUR ASSETS SO THEY CAN SEE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE THAT THEY CAN TAKE IT LATER. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DISCLOSE THAT THEY WILL TRICK YOU INTO DOING SO. So the nursing home wants their money at $500 to $650 per day. They serve you awful food not fit for a dog. Southington Health Care is one of them in Southington. They did exactly this to us. Their physcial therapist was a joke. Gerard Barton ..he had a hotel managers degree with a hotel background and no experience lol only 3 years and was not a doctor of physical therapy. Set my family member back in their care by not standing them up out of the wheelchair with a major injury who could not walk but had the ability to walk again according to multiple doctors. I have seen excellent PTs but this guy was arrogant. He wasn't qualified. Southington lied to us on the tour they said he was the best. I am an advocate and a warrior. Never stop fighting for your family member. Those without an advocate are doomed in these nursing homes. They want your house and all your money in your bank accounts. Here's the deal....all of you baby boomers better get out of the Lazy Boy chair start eating organic non processed foods and put the danish down! White flour and sugar are not your friends. Eating whole foods is important. Lots of fruits and leafy green veggies. Start walking stay active. This is what happens when you dont take care of yourself. Enjoy your life and think YOUNG! Its no fun ending up in this position. Literally backed into a corner. Its the only way to stay healthy and not get into this position in the first place. This is where the rubber meets the road. I say this out of love. You all need to know. Take good care of yourselves. Its no fun seeing a line of seniors in wheelchairs by the nurses station... slumped over talking to one another saying they are at the mercy of their abusive aids taking care of them. It broke my heart and yes I made the calls to the dept of health and elder services. These agencies are jokes. The Ombudsman in CT forget it. I have seen it all and heard it all. I was by my family members side the whole time. I thought you should know. Call your Congressperson and Governor. Keep moving forward. Good luck out there.

'Confratute' combines the words conference, fraternity, and institute, all in one. It is one of…read morethe longest running summer institute on enrichment-based differentiated teaching held at UConn. It started back in '78 by Joseph Renzulli and Sally Reis (Renzulli is considered one of the 'fathers' of GT education). This PD provides research-based practical strategies for engagement and enrichment learning that is extremely useful for GT educators. It is a week-long event, in which there are strands (mini courses that are taught by educational leaders and master educators), training, forums, special topic sessions, evening forum sessions, and, of course, keynote speakers by authors and researchers. Courses range from curriculum compacting, differentiating curriculum, to forensic science. Not only is this PD great for GT teachers, but is open to elementary/middle/high school teachers, enrichment specialists, curriculum specialists, administrators/coordinators, teachers of visual arts/performing arts/librarians/specialists, staff development specialists, school psychologists/counselors, and even for parents of GT students! Once you register, attendees are provided accommodations (double or single (extremely limited)) on campus with meals, free parking, and a shuttle transfer to/from the airport. There are even groups you can join, such as the 'ConfraChorus' with Ben (LOVE IT!!!), or participate in the Variety Show. There are also nightly social events with wine/spirits to mingle and to network. One of those conferences that is on a 'To-Do' list for any educator! :D +1-week long professional networking/development event +held at UConn
