Very poor care! Walked in with my loved ones wound vac alarm beeping for so long the battery was almost dead. Lying in a dried blood saturated bottom sheet and blanket. Puddle of blood on the floor where he had to put his BARE feet on. The nurse was angry and abusive when I complained! This facility is a disgrace! I reviewed this facility yesterday, and gave it 5 stars. Today is Sunday, and I would take away 2 stars if they would let me. I have Orthostatic hypotension: when laying down my blood seems okay, when I set up it drops 20-30 points, when I stand there is another 20-30 point drop. The cardiologist keeps my sitting BP a bit high so I will avoid the standing drop and me becoming dizzy. I take Midodrine at breakfast and lunch. Today I was refused the breakfast meds, and almost refused the lunch med because the nurse took my sitting BP, declared it was High and I didn't need it. I asked him to take it again when I stood up, of course it dropped, and he gave me the meds. I also take pain medicine because of degenerate disc and arthritis in my back. So far today it has been refused. The nurse is refusing the medication that 2 doctors have ordered for me! This app only allowed me to lower by one star, but, you decide! Bear in mind the other review I gave for five stars I standby with the nurses and all employees. Monday through Friday it is the weekend group that has been a total disappointment. I had scheduled to go home Thursday, today's actions may cause me to go home earlier! read more

Mansfield Medical Lodge - Rehabilitation Center Near Me - Mansfield, Texas

I thought this place being so close to Methodist Mansfield Hospital was going to be great... I was WRONG! My mom had a stroke and we were looking for rehab. She could still walk with aid from walker and talk but only a few words but she could understand full conversations. We were promised she would get the rehab she needed to be back with family. Less than two weeks later she is back in the hospital and the MRI scan showed she had 4 more strokes while there. NO ONE noticed she could walk or talk or lift her arms. She is now a quadriplegic. I found her like this and they told me I would have to call 911 because they said her condition was not an emergency! WTF!!!!!!!! How are these medical professionals???? If your loved one can not advocate for themselves DO NOT take them here. They will lie to your face! read more

We brought my mother in law after a friend's positive review. We were back within a few hours to pick her up. No one answered the phone when we called to check on her, no one was even at the desk when we came back to get her. It is old, rundown and the staff was awful. read more

I went to this facility after a heart attack and spent 8 days. The staff, the physical therapy everyone involved in this facility is wonderful. It's clean most of the food was good. My stay was great. The food not so great. But staff showed to be really caring & helpful. I was in for short term rehap. My only disappointment was the homecare service they referred me too. It was Mission Home Healthcare. This agency appears to lack commitment & professionalism. My therapist showed up 1 week out of 3 so far. I made contact with his supervisor & heard nothing back. First I would like to Thank Bernice in the front office.. she is amazing and so helpful.. I chose this facility originally for respite care.. but meeting Bernice and how she cares and has a heart for these patients and my mom needed more care, I reached out to her and she helped and guided me in all I would need to do.. that i appreciate.. THANK YOU AGAIN BERNICE !! Now my mom is here now after a hospital stay and transitioning into Long term care.. I have been happy with everything so for.. my mom has been here for a week today and she was up socializing and laughing.. I kept asking her was so funny and she thought everything was funny.. my mom has dementia and she had been very aggressive before .. so I was happy to see her smiling and laughing.. also the staff calls me anytime something happens.. even at 5 in the morning I got a call.. but mom was ok.. I love that.. cause I want to be involved in everything and I am happy with the facility and staff so far.. read more

I'm a current team member here at Mansfield Medical Lodge for over an year and truly enjoy being at this facility. The staff is very caring and goes above and beyond for the residents. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!   This was the most horrific experience imaginable, especially when you're already distraught that you have to leave a family member in a home. They talk a REALLY good game and had a nice facility but this was all just smoke and mirrors.  We visited the facility,  we asked tons of questions,  we expressed our concerns,  we conveyed the medical situation the patient was in.  We did everything we thought we could to make a good choice and are absolutely heartbroken that we were duped! First,  much of the staffing is contracted so they DO NOT CARE AT ALL (learned of that after the fact)! Got there in the late afternoon and had to be moved THREE different times to a room where the oxygen worked (first red flag) .   That evening they were REMINDED (second red flag) that evening meds were needed and they had a huge attitude.  We were told that the pharmacy was no longer open and they had to see what was in their e-box.  This is a patient with a slew of medical issues with a very specific cocktail of meds.   She can't be given just anything! The pain meds she is prescribed were not in their e-box so the nurse brought her tramadal as one of her replacements.  When we reminded her the patient can't have that medicine,  the nurse rudely rolled her eyes,  pursed her lips and says,  I told you we can't get your meds so you don't want any pain meds for the night?   Like, WTF?!?  No empathy,  no other solutions.  Just take it or leave it. We had to choose between severe pain or possible death.   So when the patient tells her no,  no tramadal, the nurse whips around on us and says,  did nobody explain to you all that visiting time was over at 8pm?  It was 8:05 and the nurse hadn't said anything before that.   With her tone of voice and attitude,  this was clearly retaliation (red flags 3-10)! Our family member was only there a few days and it was just horror after horror!   She was supposed to have 1hr of rehab every day.   She only got 10-15 minutes!  In those few minutes,  she played patty cake with the PT/OT, then her "homework" was to get out of bed, walk to a chair, and sit in it.   The woman literally couldn't even sit up in the bed without assistance, the whole reason she was in the facility to begin with! She'd press the nurse assistance button and they wouldn't come.  She would have to use the restroom on herself and then they still wouldn't come! I don't want to continue writing a book, although the atrocities our loved one endured in just a FEW days could warrant one, I will end with this.....the last day she was there. Her heart rate was 270/180 (I won't even get into the story of how that was discovered in the first place).  That is WELL into heart attack range.   She was given nitro to resolve but her high pressure didn't budge!  She begged and begged to call 911 but THEY WOULD NOT!!!  Finally, a member of staff SNUCK into her room and told her they wouldn't call the ambulance, that she needed to call 911 herself or she was going to die.  That member of staff was terrified he/she (I don't want to designate any distinguishing features) would get into trouble!  That person saved our family members life!  Just absolutely DISGUSTING that someone had to become a ninja spy to save a life!  And on top of all that, we were notified by the hospital staff that she was in the er, NOT the rehab facility! Our loved one was in the hospital for another 2-3 weeks and in that time, when we were asked which facility she was in, EVERY SINGLE nurse, therapist, aide, etc said this place is TERRIBLE and the stories they've heard coming out of this facility, like ours,  are shocking! I would give them negative stars if I could. My mom had a stroke last November; the day after Thanksgiving. If you have a senior loved one who has suffered a stroke or illness that requires rehab during Covid, you will understand the fear, frustration and panic of trying to navigate the healthcare system. If your family member needs care, avoid this place at all costs if your family member will need extensive care. My mother is a non-verbal stroke survivor. She is paralyzed on her right side and she is incontinent. The care she received here was beyond horrible. We photographed and videoed our experience so that it was well documented. They are understaffed and of those, are less than stellar. They will lie about the quality of your service, your ability to have access to the case manager to have your questions reviewed and access to cameras to observe the care being administered. My mom had a huge bruise on her arm from someone aggressively grabbing her either to change her or draw blood. They had no explanation for it. Again, we photographed our mom everyday and made sure to be on hand to be her advocate since she was non-verbal. She was left soiled and wet on several occasions. Because we my sister and I were completely disgusted with their ineptness, we would refuse their help if we were there. My sister is an RN and so we were working from an informed place. My mom was lucky because she had us. I was able to observe a person that had fallen once out of her wheelchair and once from her bed. Each time she was calling down an empty hall for assistance. The first time I ran to find someone. The second time a staff person came a few minutes after she started calling to help her up from the fall out of the bed. I heard more than one patient screaming for help, observed more than one wandering into my mom's room, and had one gentleman continually ask me for a phone so he could call the main office. My mom's primary nurse was completely disengaged. We had to ask about my mom's vitals and I/O. The case manager became so overwhelmed with my questions that she actually told me that "I don't have time to stand here answering all of these questions" when they were about my getting a double dose of a narco medicine within the specified time period. My mom is feed by a pump. Upon admission they didn't have one for her so we provided ours from home. Because we were specific about my mom's care, we provided the supplies to take care of her so they wouldn't have to expend extra supplies for her. They barely used them because they don't care if your family members skin breaks down. They don't do ANYTHING to prevent bedsores or skin tears. I could go and on but I will say that if you love your family member, DO NOT PLACE THEM HERE. How serious was I about alerting people to the horrible place? I had to add them as a business first. We did our research and met with them in advance and the assurances made were not kept. If I had not been able to be there, my mom could have had more serious incidents or suffered more neglect. You look for a safe and caring place at times like this because you need it. You rely on the expertise of professionals who assure you that they will care for your loved one like you do. Please know this IS NOT that place. This is one of many reviews. I am filing complaints with the State, the insurance company, Medicare, her doctor and anyone who will listen. read more

My uncle was recently at this facility and his care was so very good. I read the reviews and was so very nervous but then we took a tour and the reviews did not do any justice. This was the best decision we had made Thank you so very much for your support and the care that you provided my uncle.
