The ER Doctors aren't very friendly and very dismissive. And when I go they aren't caring

Everytime I have to go or recommend someone to a hospital. I tell them to go to Texas Health in Mansfield. The drive time might be long if you dont live in the area, but it's worth it. Great team of Doctors and Nurses read more

Dr. Ayamo Oben violated consent rights of a patient during labor. After 4+ hours of pushing, Dr. Oben discussed vacuum assisted delivery with patient and doula. The decision, after much hesitation, was for the vacuum to be brought out in an emergency situation only (if the baby's heart rate declined and if recovery after contractions was decreasing). While the baby was progressing with a steady heartbeat and mother was strong and able, Dr. Oben used the vacuum in a non-emergent time. Before this, this doctor did not allow the patient to labor in the position that she asked to be in as her doula had instructed (laboring on the side increased the baby's recovery after each contraction). Oben instructed the patient to lay on her back because the vacuum couldn't be used while the patient is on their side. The patient asked to remain on her side and keep pushing, Dr. Oben directed the patient to lay on her back and initiated vacuuming assisted delivery on her own accord. There was no emergency. Nurses and doula both agreed that the baby was recovering steadily after each contraction and the mother was willing and able to continue pushing. Immediately after she initiated the vacuum assisted delivery, against the patient's wishes, the family witnessed Dr. Oben taking a very personal call on her way to the lounge. It was clear that this doctor had personal business to attend to and was willing to endanger a patient and their child to answer her phone in the lobby saying "sorry baby," Dr. Oben disregarded moral clinical practices and the mother's wishes. Just had a baby here and it was an AMAZING experience. The nurses were awesome and even came and checked on me on their day off. I had a serious complication after my delivery and they were on top of it!! I highly recommend this hospital for having your bundle of joy!! read more

I had the best experience here. The staff was attentive, caring and they git right to work on trying to make feel better and be comfortable.

My husband and I went here last night. We walked and were greeted instantly and taken to a room. The staff and care was excellent! The doctor explained everything and was thorough. The staff was so quick and efficient. I was amazed. I will definitely return here if we need an ER again and recommend it to all my friends and family. read more

My mom had surgery here yesterday and I came and stayed the night with her. The staff here are amazing! Everyone I have come across even passing in the hall has greeted me and asked how I was doing. Both nurses I have seen have been so friendly and helpful with my mom. All the techs are very caring and super caring. Through the night they were respectful of your time resting. They tried not to come in all the time. Everyone that came into the room answered any question that my mom had. If you have a need for chaplains there are Two amazing ones here. I would recommend this Hospital to anyone, I work in the medical field and love this place read more

Horrible ER!!! I have an awful sunburn on my upper arms, chest, and back that is so bad I can barely move. I have multiple large blisters (quarter sized) on my back, i have a horrible headache with chills, and my skin is turning white and scaly in places. Pain is so bad I can't sleep and I have a purple line that clearly divides my skin and the burned skin that is swollen and inflamed. I tried solarcaine, aloe gel, and alleve for 2 days with no relief and the pain was getting worse and the blisters were getting larger. Tried to get an appointment with my PCP but he had no openings today. Went to the ER for help. There was no wait to get in and I was the only patient on the hall which I thought was strange. (After the "care" I received it is obvious why there was no one there. People are avoiding this ER for a reason). The nurse and doctor were extremely rude and literally did nothing. They mumbled a bored "uh-huh" to anything I said, and acted like they really did not want to be at work. They didn't have me change into a gown and didn't even ask me to take off my shirt. No one looked at my back or shoulders to see the full extent of the burn. The doctor pulled the neck at the top of my shirt back maybe an inch and simply looked down my shirt. She didn't look at my shoulders or chest at all.The Doctor barely lifted the neck of my shirt back and then proceeded to tell me I didn't have any blisters. I told her that I did have several blisters and that she didn't lift my shirt high enough to see and didn't look at my upper arms and shoulders where the blisters were. She again just barely pulled back the neck of my shirt and went "oh, yes there they are", but then said the blisters weren't that bad and there was nothing she could do. She told me to take aloe and solarcaine and said " you are just going to have to suffer through it". I told her I have been using aloe gel, solarcaine, and taking Alleve, and it's not helping and the pain is getting worse. (Would I really drive myself to the ER if I had not already tried doing this?) I stressed I have been having chills and the pain is intolerable.The doctor gave an obvious irritated sigh and told the nurse that my blood pressure reading was high so she wanted her to start an IV with fluids and pain meds. The doctor left and I didn't see her again. The nurse tried to start the IV but couldn't get the needle in because I was so dehydrated and she couldn't get a vein. She was tying the plastic band around my upper arm (which was very burned and red) and then yanking it super tight and it hurt very bad. She then stuck the needle in my hands and was moving it around and couldn't get it in. On sun burned skin this is highly painful. She got the needle in one time and then I heard her mutter that it was swelling so she pulled it out. She tried both arms and hands and stuck me multiple times before I asked her to stop because I couldn't take the pain anymore. Could they not have given me a numbing cream? When I told her to stop she rolled her eyes and left the room. She didn't ask anyone else to come help or see if they could get a good vein. She came back with a prescription for oral pain meds and I was discharged. No topical cream, no numbing cream, no steroid cream, no antibiotics for the blisters. They didn't even offer a cold compress for the pain/burn. Nothing. I am shocked at the level of care provided. Someone who was obviously in pain with high blood pressure and was so dehydrated they couldn't even get an IV started and the result is there is nothing we can do, you just have to suffer through it. What?!?!?! I work in the medical field and my colleagues (who are nurses and doctors) were shocked when I told them what the ER doctor did (didn't even look at my burn or have me take off my shirt) and that all she gave me was a prescription for oral pain meds. I had to pay a $200 copay and will probably be getting a huge bill for literally no service. I wasn't even examined. Just ridiculous and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this new hospital. Will never return here. read more

Took my elderly mother here a couple months ago when she had a cold but then was getting more lethargic, refusing to get out of bed, we were getting really worried. She has dementia so my sister caregiver needed to stay with her to give history and answer questions. Called ahead to the other hospital in the area and they said they would refuse to let my sister come in due to COVID. Called Texas Health Mansfield who said absolutely, she could stay with her - and also had no wait in the ER compared to the very full ER at the other place. Took her there, got very fast and fantastic service from caring and experienced staff who figured out what was wrong within an hour... was a great experience! read more

I do not recommend the emergency room. I am shocked and disappointed by the virtually non-existent emergency room care at Texas Health Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. I do not recommend this "hospital" if you have shortness of breath or suspect you may be suffering from a critical medical crisis. I presented to the ER with shortness of breath after "days" of struggling to breathe, and my first sign that I wasn't going to receive good critical care was the nurses writing my symptoms and medical history down on "brown napkins" and not actual paper or handheld devices. Yes, they wrote down my information on brown paper napkins and put a medical sticker on it. Who writes medical information on napkins? Next, I didn't feel I was in an emergency room because there was no urgency and zero emergency room protocol. The emergency room doctor literally seemed clueless and that's not what you want when you can't breathe! I felt I was dealing with someone who didn't know what they were doing. I literally went to the ER to "talk" to the doctor as opposed to receiving care. Unbelievable. He didn't order anything previous ER doctors at other hospitals immediately ordered such as blood work, CT scan, EKG, or anything that would guide him. It's like he was content not knowing what was going on. I typically have excellent blood pressure, but it was jumping because I couldn't breathe but the ER doctor didn't seem the least bit concerned. I couldn't believe the low quality of ER care, it was downright scary! The ER doctor's lack of investigation was scary because typically an ER doctor wants to know for themselves what could be going on, especially when they know you have sought out help before going to the ER. No one likes going to the ER and so the simple fact I went means I was in trouble. I even told him I was struggling to breathe and I was still discharged. What a waste of time and money! If this is America's standard of care, God help us all. This is why I try my best to AVOID doctors. I can't believe I will be billed to "speak" to an ER doctor. What a bust. If you want to be treated with kindness & respect do not come to this hospital! My Husband was a patient here and was put on a ventilator. During the worst moment of my life I was treated like absolute garbage. From administration and security. Employees showed no empathy or consideration is such a difficult time, but instead I was threatened with a call to police. I later reaching out to the president of the Hospital Mr. Kenneth Rose, I felt like he blew me off and only responded to me so he could say he did "his job" His lack of trying to make the matter better was a joke! For a hospital that states their values as being Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence this couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion. read more

I was having chest pain and I decided to try out this new hospital. My mom and Grandpa have already been here and they both said the doctors and nurses were just so nice. So I walked in and I gave my info and immediately they took me to a room. Before I came to this hospital I went to an Urgent care and was turned away because they cancelled my "appointment." Most urgent cares require an appointment so I decided I'll have to go to the ER. When I arrived there were a few other people but I also heard a lot of people getting discharged as well. The entire process only took 3 hours. 3 HOURS. I know it sounds like a lot, BUT in my case with all the tests they had to run it's amazing it only took 3 hours. And they ran so many tests and an X-ray and a Cat scan, and I thought I'd be there for longer! NOPE they got me in fast they got me out fast and BEST of all, THEY WERE ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG. Amber was amazing she was the first one who greeted me and the last one to say goodbye. I was dehydrated so they had a hard time finding a vein. When one nurse failed the first time she said she was sorry it didn't work and she called Amber in and Amber struggled but she did it! I didn't feel any pain from either poke. The nurses there were a big blessing. I was afraid, first time going to a doctor BY MYSELF. I know I didn't get the best news, but they treated me with respect and they made me laugh. I see negative reviews on here, and that's surprising because none of them had an ounce of attitude. They all seemed very eager to help and figure out what was wrong. I'm incredibly thankful for the team of Nurses and the Doctor who helped me figure out what was wrong with my chest. I've had this chest pain on and off for 3 years! read more

My son 3yo had an accident and we had to take him to the nearest ER, if you take your children on your family member or yourself, keep a very close eye on the nurse named Charlotte, she was there overnight, and she proceeded to ignore me telling her my son gets anxiety and doesn't like contact from strangers, I asked her to not touch him and to direct the conversation to me, he will eventually get used to people and warm up to them.. well, it's as if I told her the complete opposite. She proceeded to talking to him, and SHUSHING HIM because he cried, and touching him making it very uncomfortable for him. And aggravating him - making him cry. He just had an head injury, we were there from 10pm-4am, and she wasn't making this at all bearable for him. (He had minor issue with the dr and tech Bc they actually listened to me) (son was one when covid hit and so he's not used to being around strangers) ***** the worst part came when she administered narcotics through his nose which made him gag, choke and cry, she shushed him and COVERED HIS MOUTH WITH HER HAND TO QUIET HIM DOWN. Nothing excuses that type of behavior towards a toddler. ***** she also didn't wash or sanitize her hands when she would come in our room. And she was not wearing gloves. Be on high alert mode mamas. (Parents) her behavior caught me by surprised, it shocked me, and I felt very vulnerable to not be able to speak out when we were there in fear my son wouldn't get treated or that she would retaliate. read more
