The dealer charges a 4% credit card fee and $100/hour for labor. But as the above examples illustrate, my concern is not about the de jure hourly rate, just the basis on which they were applied. If you're not price sensitive--and this is the only auto dealer that I believe is currently operating in Jeffersonville--I would not hesitate to recommend this dealer even if you are an easy mark. As for the recently closed other auto repair shop in Jeffersonville, my family used him for many years and never had such an experience.

He didn't seem too concerned with appreciating our best outlook, but more with proving he's "entitled". He told us he didn't wanna do it because then he'd have to stand by his repair. Well any good mechanic would stand by their work if they're capable. All that showed us was he's not looking for repeat business or considerate of anything but what we might pay him. He was also concerned with the crankshaft being worn out, however there's a kit for that to assist in the prevention of an additional repair. Somebody else will be getting our business who doesn't pretend to be knowledgable and have been more than upfront and willing about the repair.
