When it comes to customer service this pharmacy is tops.but I believe its because on particular nice older lady that has been working here for a while now, She epitomizes good customer service. She works in the front of the store as a cashier, and she also works in the back at the pharmacy. When ever me and my family come into this pharmacy,the nice little lady always greets us very warmly. Especially my little son,he's a favorite over there with her.The other employees that I have encountered are very knowledgeable about supplies and things I might be looking for. Mansion pharmacy is always screwing up my prescriptions. Whether they're late in getting them or just forgetful when they have them, they just always say tomorrow. So I will be in pain tonight because of their fuck up. I know is Inez is the only person at Manson that has any sense or compassion. Everyone else is just... Manson Pharmacy is grossly incompetent. Every single time I have gone there, there has always been an issue. This latest issue has lost their business from me and my family. My doctor sent in a prescription weeks ago, I went to pick up the prescription they tell me it has been "back-ordered" and will be "in tomorrow." I call the following day. "It's back-ordered" I ask them when in the foreseeable future they will receive it. They said "never." Since the prescription is a fairly common one, I ask them "how that is possible" they tell me "There is a shortage, they are no longer filling the generic or brand name prescription" and instruct me to "call around to different pharmacy's to see if they have any left" As my pharmacy isn't that their job? But sure. Regardless, a preliminary Google Search (https://www.ashp.org/Drug-Shortages/Current-Shortages/Drug-Shortages-List?page=CurrentShortages) tells me there's no "shortage" nor is there a back-order. What is mostly likely the case is that they are lying. They no longer carry it, forgot to order it, or it costs them too much money. Even though the sign says their business hours end at 7P, you had better be inside by 6:45P because that's when they run to lock the doors...sometimes sooner. And trust me, you will not be let in no matter how desperately you look at them from the outside because you need your meds and have rushed home from work to get there before 6:45P. Other reviewers mentioned the falloff in quality of customer service. My experience is that they no longer notify a customer when a back ordered prescription comes in. They have an automated system to notify customers if the prescription is new and in stock, and I have experienced it working once. I've been a customer for decades without problems. Possibly there is a new ownership or management that is the source of the problems. read more

I'm upset I'm even giving these people 1 star. I needed a prescription filled for some pain medication, so I faxed over my prescription and insurance card. The woman at the pharmacy calls me and tells me they don't accept my insurance. I told her they do, I verified it. Then I asked her if she bothered calling my insurance company to verify she said "no". I told her she should call them to verify first. She then slams the phone in my face. I walked down to the store, in pain, and gave her a piece of my mind. I would NEVER buy anything from this place ever again. They are RUDE and OVERPRICED!!!! Sure, it doesn't have everything you'd find at a Duane Reed or CVS, but you gotta give the few small neighborhood pharmacies that still exist some love! The pharmacists were helpful in transferring my California prescriptions, and stayed friendly even when my health insurance/old pharmacy didn't make it easy. The hours are great (pharmacy open 'til 9 pm weekdays -- now I'm starting to remember why I love NYC), and though the aisles are on the cramped side, the shelves are stocked with most of the basic drugstore items one might need. I support local businesses whenever I can. As such, I wanted to fill a prescription at Manson, since it's the only local pharmacy in my neighborhood. I spoke to someone---not a pharmacist---who was very unwilling to give me information. I had to press a bit before having the phone representative do a bit of research. (I wanted to gauge the price of a prescription.) After much waiting, I was told that "prices for prescriptions are not given over the phone." Frustrated, I called the local Rite-Aid. Not only did I speak to a pharmacist directly, but also was told of available inventory, price, and how long it would take to fill the prescription. The phone customer service at the local place was terrible, so I can't imagine what it would have been like in person. The bigger business, however, was much friendlier. Consequently, Rite-Aid won my business. In the words of a previous poster: "They can keep their business without my money." read more

Don't go to manson health store! I went today to see the types of health products and services carried within the store. To my surprise, as I was walking out, the clerk decides to accuse me of stealing! He claims I put a protein bar under my shirt. I have never stolen or been accused of stealing. I was embarrassed at the same time. He asked me to corn the front which I did as I tried to explain to this dummy that I wasn't a thief! He checks the security tape and sure enough, he was wrong. But did he come from behind the counter to say I'm sorry - no he didn't! I've been a faithful patron of manson pharmacy for years and I may need to find a competitive pharmacy since they can't teach their clerks customer service and not to racially profile! My doctor referred me here because they make compound meds, unlike other larger pharmacy chains. When i called they requested the hard copy of my prescription and told me they will not start making anything unless i give this to them. This normally wouldn't be a problem except this pharmacy is really out of the way for me, as a matter of fact its a pretty good driving distance. When I first called early in the AM the girl who answered had no idea what i was requesting and told me they would call back to tell me if they have this med or not.... the call never came so i called at around 4 to try to figure out what the confusion was about. I spoke with the same girl who quickly told me "Yah we can make it for you" but said they wont make it unless they have a hard copy of my prescription. ... Ok, I asked how long will it take to make this med (thinking maybe i can wait there while they make it)... TWO days?! .... I'm sorry but this is a first, How are you going to have your customers WAIT DAYS to get meds they need ASAP??? ...REALLY? Then I asked how much this would cost me....I was transferred to two different people (none of which asked about my insurance until i finally brought it up myself) until finally one told me that apparently its not covered.... Which seems a little strange to me because all my past meds have been. I will make every effort not to have to turn to this place for the medications not only do they make it extremely difficult to get medications you need... apparently they take their sweet time making them. In addition they aren't very accommodating. They also seem to over charge or as in my case not even consider that you have an insurance company. (how could you possibly know that my insurance wont cover this if you don't bother to check which insurance I have?) Oh and btw, because this pharmacies delay in response and lack of responsibility by the time I was done solving this should-have-been-simple issue my doctors office was closed, So thanks to them I'm delayed getting the medications I need, Thanks Manson Pharmacy. read more

The service at this pharmacy has gone down rapidly over the last year! I called in for a refill, they left a message so I went in to pick it up only to be told that I have to wait because the person forgot to put in a request. Three days ago I called for my meds that I take every day and after promising they'd get the refill from my doctor I don't hear back AT ALL! I just called and asked for the pharmacist, the woman put me on hold, had me wait for 5 minutes and then hangs up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the pharmacist. She insisted that they have left messages and have not heard. No one bothers to let me know!!! She was rude and would not acknowledge that they had made a mistake in keeping me informed!! I went to this pharmacy on a Monday evening at 6:52 PM, standing outside the door so that i could pick up my prescription( mind you, they're supposed to close at 8 PM). Doors were locked. People were inside the store. They looked at me and literally ignored me. Then i tried to call them, they picked up and hung up on me in seconds. VERY VERY rude. Pharmacist does not wear a facial covering or gloves when preparing prescription during this pandemic. You maybe taking home covid 19 with your medication. You think they would have respect for the customers who trust they will do the right thing. None of the others workers there use facial coverings or gloves either. This is in reference to the new Hanson Health store. Which now does juicing. I go up to the counter to look at the fruit displayed on the counter. I noticed that the fruit was not organic. I told the staff member what a shame. He asked me why. I told him that the fruit was not organic and you are juicing with non organic fruit. He told me that it didn't make a difference. I told him that it does and that is why we have the greatest rate of cancer in society today. I just want people to know that I would never go to a place that didn't care about their customers health and their own. But, I can make people aware of their choices. Anyone can have a bad day sometimes, but lately I saw the rude behavior to my mother, a friend and I, from one of the pharmacist and one of the helpers. Then, I decided to switch pharmacies. It's a small, community pharmacy that has everything you need. The pharmacist especially was very helpful. I am a victim of hurricane Sandy, I moved to the relative in the neighborhood. This area has three local community pharmacy. However, this was the pharmacy that has convenient working hours( open early and close late around 9pm and work seven days a week). When I approached the pharmacist about my lost medication due to hurriain, she was very quick to call my doctor for new prescriptions and she even called my insurance company to obtain over ride. It's a small pharmacy owned by a helpful but rude male pharmacist. The pharmacy staff is really nice and helpful, but when it comes to over the counter service no one from OTC staff really gives a crap and offers any help if they see you looking for something, they can pass you without asking if you need any help and they are too busy texting or chatting even the manager(s). This pharmacists can get any drug you need, will transfer your prescriptions from another pharmacy if you cant go there, but I'm still not happy with the OTC staff the register girls are mean and watching an owner yelling at his pharmacists or the technicians(who are really nice and friendly) doesn't make me wanna go there unless it's an emergency and I've no other choice (it's the only pharmacy that's open till 9pm in my neighborhood). read more

I do not recommend this pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is incompetent. Each time I fill or renew a prescription, there is always a problem. Either they don't have it or they never fill the order even when I had called it in hours before. They have even called me to say I had refills due and when I ask them to please go ahead and fill them, when I show up for pick up, they say they have no record of the refill order. They don't even call you to let you know if there is an issue with your prescription and almost always the issue is their mistake. I am going to find out who the owners are and file a complaint about the incompetence of their pharmacy staff. read more

I like to support private pharmacy especially as your neighbors bec I use to live not far away from it. I realize that every time I come there for with my prescription, they charge my insurance card and on top of it copayment which should be $10 but from them it's some how $20 them $30 and sometimes they even charge $90 even after my insurance pays full amount for the prescription medicine. I decided to go to other pharmacy and for the same prescription medicine it's always $10 not one penny more. Don't go there unless if you want to get your self ripoff. My doctor sent my prescriptions to this store and my meds were supposed to be delivered. I reviewed a phone call around 2pm from a woman who said that I had a few small copay's. I gave her my debit card over the phone and I waited all day. Around 6 pm I called the drugstore and she told me that my meds were out for delivery. It is now 8pm and I still haven't received my medications and they are now closed. I hope that this business burns to the ground. Absolutely horrible, irresponsible staff starting from managers and finishing with front desk personnel. Nothing is ever done in time or appropriately. No one ever knows what is going on and and the usual response is "the manager who does know is not here right now." That goes for everything: prescription deliveries, printing, the picture machine. Ok service. The staff is quick and relatively polite. But definitely avoid this place if your prescription is for something sensitive that you want to keep between you and the staff. They will shout out not just the name but the purpose of your prescription for everyone to hear rather than just calling you over to the desk and speaking at a normal volume for only you to hear. I used to go to chain pharmacies to fill my prescriptions but then started filling my prescriptions in manson pharmacy. The service was much better, I was out within minutes. My grandmother lives in brooklyn and needed her medications urgently and a few items for her house. They picked up the prescriptions from her and delivered it the same day. I went there last night after leaving my docs office because it was the only one open and in walking distance and after providing and confirming all insurance documentation they insisted it was incorrect. I called my plan on the spot put them on the phone with them they reconfirmed and yet still they insisted my info incorrect. I am a plan administrator for my company, so I know the protocol and info provided was correct. My plan told them they were having a system error on their end. I was in extreme pain, so at that point I offered to pay retail. She refused to allow me to pay out of pocket! I then told her "so you are refusing me to exercise my right to pay out of pocket with a legitimate script from my doctor??". You know... if she had any doubts why not call the Dr's office directly?? There was absolutely no reason for her to question the legitimacy nor does she have the right to refuse for me to pay retail! She smirked and said " you know what this is" and I have the right to refuse to refill" go around the corner they give you whatever you want she said" as if I was some sort of pill popping crack head?? ( it was 5 mgs of volume) I had a pulled sternum muscled and cervical sprain. Not only was I sent home in pain- I was embarrassed, insulted and felt completely discriminated against. Within no reason whatsoever. It turns out they are known for their inflated pricing and terrible business practices. I will never ever step foot in that place again!!. I will file complaints everywhere possible if need be.... I am disgusted but you know what? they messed with the wrong one!!! Do NOT go there. read more
